Nice minimalist rooms with comfy beds. Whole building is very clean and stylish also. Lovely cafe in the foyer and kind staff too. Really nice place to stay. Great location too, loads of cafes and bars along the road, and lots of sights nearby. Loved the record player in the lounge area too! Basically a perfect stay.
Maybe could be a bit quiet if you're a solo traveller looking to socialize, but perfect for couples, groups, or people looking for some peace and quiet.

Great location.
Super overpriced. 185rm for a private room that has seen better days. It should not have cost more than 100rm.

Great location, just in the city center, very close to the most important spots in Georgetown. Friendly staff. Nice design, clean bathrooms and room. Good value for money.

Great location for Georgetown. The baths were pretty clean. I think they are going for a minimalistic vibe, which is nice but here feels kinda cheap.
Someone clearly had slept in our bed when we got there! We asked to change the sheets and got everything but had to do it ourselfs. We shared the room with other people, they were nice but there was a room above ours and you could here everything, which was annoying.

Location was good. Private room was fine but had no hooks or storage in it
Hostel is unbelievably noisy, you can literally hear every footstep. Unclear who actually works there as staff seem to sit around with their friends in the communal space. Toilets regularly smelt. Front door gets padlocked at 10:30pm, you have to open a large padlock pull back the shutters and glass door to get in then relock it all, there’s no overnight staff so god knows what you’d do if you lost your key

there’re only 2 toilets. The floor wasn’t so clean.

The place was nice, cosy with many hanging places where you can chill or catch up with other travelers. Location is very nice, you are just in middle of everything so you can walk around pf the city. The guy who works in the hostel is very nice and helpful. He helped me with my luggage when I arrived and also when I was leaving. Last but not least, when I was coming from Cameron highlands and going to Langkawi I had a longer layover in the city, so came to the hostel and asked if I can leave there luggage and the guy was very open and nice, that without a problem. This puts a great value to the hostel. If you are reading it, thank you for your help. 🙏🏼 Also working wifi, gramophone, TV, drinking water and so on.
Three things but mostly because it is an old building and there is not much to do about it:
- bed smell from the canalization (but rooms are far away so not a huge problem)
- dust under beds (all other places were very clean)
- uninterested coffee personal, a bit impolite (when I came was too early for check in and the hostel staff wasn’t there yet, at that time I didn’t know this is not part of the hostel. I said two times hello while standing behind the bar and they were just ignoring me, I said again hello, do you speak english? And the Chinese guy answered really impolite. I must say that not really good attitude for someone working in the hospitality).

The place itself was in a really good location. Quite a big space with communal areas. Was pretty clean.
The guy working who welcomed us was super friendly and gave loads of good suggestions of places to visit.
It was pretty noisy in the dorm, you could literally hear everything so clearly from the room above which kept me awake a fair bit.
Often there was no one manning reception and sometimes when they were they seemed like they couldn’t really be bother to be there. As there was no one manning reception one night we came across this man who wasn’t staying there who was just walking around, I don’t think there was anything sinister, I just think he wanted a chat but he easily couldn’t have gone into the rooms and stolen stuff.

nice architecture and modern decoration
a bit noisy and the beds don’t have any privacy

Was pretty clean, beds were really comfortable, lockers were big, downstairs area was really nice.
Its not sociable at all and there’s quite an awkward vibe amongst guests, puts the downstairs area to waste really. It’s also very noisy due to the nature of the building, would really help putting some mats down in the rooms to try and at least soundproof them for those in the rooms below.

Filtered water so you can refil your drinking bottle! Cheers! / Nice with the coffee shop.
This place had no recycling.

The hotel is located close to many shops and restaurants and close to several tourist attractions.
The plumbing was very noisy (communal showers/toilets were right next to my room and everytime somebody used either of those, the toilet in my private bathroom would make very loud gurgling noises) and the walls are very thin.
The room did not have a window (should have been mentioned in the description of the room) and it wasn't very clean. There were no hooks or shelves next to the sink, even though there would have been plenty of space for something like that. All in all not very practical or comfortable.
The Wifi was very spotty and most of the time I had to rely on my mobile data.

Check in was easy and we were handled by a guy. He got us some towels and showed us our rooms. It was different from when i used to stay last time because back then, no footwear were allowed upstairs. Hence it truly feels like home. But now, it changed, i dont bring indoor slippers or any sandal so i feel the constant needs of washing my feet because the wooden floor feels sticky and sandy as guest walked in on their shoes. It was unpleasant especially after taking shower and you have to walk on dirty floor (imagine where they had been with their footwears) Lighting was inadequate in the bathroom. Facilities was good.bed was very comfortable. Easy check out. Many places around, easy walking, entertainment system.
Hot shower, drinking water for refill
i lost my toiletries because the staff thrw it away as she thought it was belongs to the guest who checked out earlier. But it was a plastic bagfull and packed with all my toiletries, i was compensated to the amount that is not equivalent to my items. Sad. Imagine it was an iphone i believed they would keep it for themselves. Dear management/owner be it a simple items such as headbands, just keep it for at least a week. I stayed in many places where they have a corner for giveaway items and lost and found. Your minimalist hostel can go along with sustainability. People might leave their clothes, shoes. This can be prevented from landed in the landfills. Just a suggestion , as i was frustrated that my toiletries were thrown away. Anything that is laying around near beds in a room where people come and go, it could be belongs to people who are still staying.
Dirty couch, carpets as people brought their shoes to the area and upstairs.
Dirty and sandy floor. Please change to no shoes upstairs rules. Or remove foot wear
No more free breakfast of toast and coffee like the olden days.

Excellent location, good shared bathroom facilities, clean and tidy, working air con.
Noise. Earplugs are mandatory no matter which room you're in. The design of the space is such that everything echoes from the road, the ground floor, all the way up to the top level.
It's not necessarily people being loud, but water taps, footsteps, doors, buses, all comes through.
Noise between 11pm-12am of people getting to bed, plus, 5am mosque wake up calls, meant very little sleep.
As a backpacker, it was not very social either, lots of couples and families mostly keeping to themselves.
It's a shame, because it's a pretty good hostel at a pretty good price, but they were significant cons.

the decoration of it..
kind of weird smell just outside of the front door
7.0 / 10.0
Location is very good, close to most sights. Very spacious, a lot of room to just sit and chill out or exercize, and work as well. Design is very simple, loft-like, which I enjoyed. There's a fridge and a microwave, and lots of supermarkets, cafes and nighttime street food vendors.
Sound-proofing is zero. Some floors are wood and very creaky, and in my room I could hear every step a person made upstairs as if it was happening in my room. Windows opened onto the street, which meant that I could also hear every car and 5 am praying in the mosque. You either need to be a very sound sleeper or have very good earplugs. Also, definitely do NOT use the travel (bus) service next door.

Clean, good value for money, good central location
Can be a bit noisy at night but depends on the guests

the design and interior are great. location is the best. got free drinkable water.
got into 4 female hostel, the aircond remote not working, no towel and wifi password given and a few times wanna ask for it no receptionist available. other guests enter the room with their shoes and slipper from toilet, so the floor quite sandy, also no carpet, so i just rest on the sofa outside.
