Paul y Luisa son los mejores anfitriones que nos pudieron haber tocado en puerto escondido. La comodidad es absoluta, el ambiente es de una familiaridad que abraza, si vienen a puerto no duden en quedarse en puerto escondido.

Great family. Very welcoming and such a cool way to stay in a place and get to know more about an area. Hosts were kind and flexible. pickle ball courts were great with shade cover and lights. Short walk to beach.
not much. a bit of construction around area but that is the way things are… didn’t bother us

The courtyard is a little oasis and the pool refershing. There is a pickle ball court attched to the bnb that Louisa and Paul own - and I assume avilable for rent to play. The chaises are not the most comfortable with only wood, yet the sofas are comfortable. Louisa is gentle and kind, and I had the pleasure of meeting her daughter one morning. Paul was either working on site or off, and ordered medicine when I was quite ill. Unfortunately, the medicine came hours later when no one was present to recieve it (Mexico time). The breakfasts were different each morning.
The location is unfortunately very loud during the day (construction) and night (highway noise). This is amplified by the fact there are no sound barriers on the room - no windows, only screens. Sleeping outside my room was my best option for some quiet rest. At night I could hear another resident struggling through the night with blowing thier nose often. I was concerned all my bathroom trips when I became quite ill would wake everyone.
One of the nights the customary Mexican burning smell was strong and it became difficult to breath - the lack of windows made it impossible to quarantine that dust/debris to the outside.
At night I was cold, and while I had requested a blanket at check in, it just didn't happen. I was exhausted from the lack of sleep and feeling uncomfortable. Then I got very sick for my first time in Mexico, after years of traveling through Mexico.
Communication was challenging.
It wasn't explained when I was ill there was any alternative breakfast available, even when explaining I had bad stomach pains to the kitchen staff. When I went to check out with Louisa, she offered me oats, but at that point I was headed to the airport and just hoped to keep what was in, in and not explode on my flight out of town. However, the morning I left, the staff did honor a request to boil eggs I had purchased, for the road, without hesitation.

The villa is exceptionally well designed to capture the sea breezes, meaning it’s a joy to sleep without air conditioning and without glass in the doors and windows, just very effective insect screens and ceiling fans.. It also means you hear the surf on Bacacho beach, which is gorgeous, and are woken to the sound of mynah birds chatting with Paco, the family parrot. The beds were very comfortable, the pool and gardens lovely to spend time in and the breakfasts were exceptional. A major plus is the house has its own water treatment and filter system making it safe to drink - a rarity in Mexico and a joy not to be lugging bottled water back home. The location is good and it’s not too far to walk to the trendy restaurants and to the beach club. Taxis are cheap, plentiful, easy and safe if you don’t fancy the walk. Having said all of this, the huge plus for us was the joy of spending time with the family. Paul and Louisa made us so welcome and their local knowledge helped us enjoy PE to the full. We feel so lucky to have found them and really privileged to have had the opportunity to stay with them.
Nada!

The accommodation was not fit for purpose and certainly not as described in booking.com The price was really elevated for what it was namely an open room on the roof with a mosquito net and toilet in a cupboard. There was no room with a sea view. The furniture was shoddy.
We cancelled the booking and were advised that we would receive 50% back and the first day back. Nothing has been received
If the properly was properly described and priced for what it was then it could meet someones expectations. The property and booking .com failed to do this.

Incredible experience, the owners were really kind and attentive, every morning they prepared delicious breakfasts for us and gave us advice on what to visit. the structure is beautiful, immersed in silence and peace, a true tropical villa.
Everything perfect, I only recommend renting a vehicle because the structure is about 15 minutes away by car from La Punta
4.3
Hypoallergenic bedding, comfortable real king sized bed, pickle ball court, pool, landscaping with amazing breakfast made by wonderful hosts.
While some places are within a 5 minute walk as noted in other reviews, most places are at least a 15 min walk away.

Garden setting with good size pool and nice lounge areas. Hearing the ocean in the distance at night. Spacious quarters. Plenty hot water supply in bathroom area. Comfortable bed.
Residential location a bit remote, approx 30 plus minutes walking distance to many popular areas. Limited breakfast. Daytime adjacent construction everyday.
4.3
Beautifully designed house in quiet and safe area, within walking distance to cafes, bars and restaurants. Bacocho beach close by the perfect beach for us.
4.3
It was in a great location. We loved the local restaurants
and beach. It was easy to get to the main town. The
house is stunning and beautifully designed. The
breakfasts were delicious and Paul couldn’t have
been more welcoming and helpful. We loved
having a go at Pickle ball!
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Maria bnb and
would recommend.
Unfortunately there was some building work going on
opposite the house which started early and was very
noisy. One of the rooms was pretty open to the
elements and so was noisier and lighter than the
other rooms.

Spacious and comfortable room in a well designed and laid out house. Paul is a great host who is welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. He cooks a lovely breakfast, gave us great restaurant recommendations and dropped us to the airport when leaving.
Puerto is growing fast and as a result there is a lot of building in the area which was very loud on a couple of days. Villa María is Paul’s home and workplace as opposed to a dedicated rental or hotel, so we didn’t spend our time at pool at the property during the day, which I would have preferred to do on some days.
4.3
The room with private bath located in what was essentially private home was clean and the pool was pleasant. The owner prepared adequate breakfast though options were extremely limited to what the family had chosen to serve that day.
We were told that the house was designed and constructed by the owner/host to be cool and comfortable without air conditioning. We were told the “cool air from the mountains” made the space a comfortable temperature at night through the special design of the house. All night the room was just as hot, if not hotter (25c at the coolest) than outside. The concrete construction, single window, and ceiling fan did nothing to alleviate the extreme heat. It was impossible to sleep.
4.3
The location was quiet and a close walk to restaurants and shops. The pools was great and surrounded by gardens. They served a delicious breakfast and were very warm and welcoming.
4.3
The common area is beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was good, but there was no buffet!
My room was the king bed with ocean view, with balcony and private pool. So no ocean view whatsoever, the balcony that supposedly comes with the room was apparently also used for hanging laundry...🤔 . I think the 'private pool' was actually the pool in the common area, 'private' as in private to the home!! Hmmm?!
The room was extremely tight, bathroom sink is smaller than the size of a 'bar sink' some people have in their homes.
There was also no TV in the room, as stated in the room description.
I was willing to pay more for ocean view, without it, the room cost is definitely over priced!!!

we loved how peaceful and cute everything was
a bit outside the main area

Paul is a very good host and a good cook. The B&B is well located and clean. The swimming pool is nice.
Nothing in particular to complain about. The stay was very good.
4.3
Paul and Louisa’s house is nice with a lovely garden and Pool
Paul was helpful with information about the area
The location- well outside of town - even the taxi drivers couldn’t find it !
The noise - rooms are open with no walls and there is a building site next door so you are awoken at 7.30 in the morning by building noise
The owners are busy with other businesses so you only see them for a short time at breakfast. We never actually saw Luisa during 4 days there
It’s way overpriced for what you get - we found much better accommodation at a similar price

Luisa and Paul were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic! We had organic homemade German bread from one of the locals with eggs and fruit. The next day an amazing cold smoked fish sandwich from Paul’s smoke house! The rooms were cool the perfect temperature and comfortable. Everything is designed to keep you cool. My only complaint is we did not stay long enough because they book up quickly!

Beautiful room in a beautiful villa. everything was tasteful and the owner very nice

Villa María is located a short walk to the beautiful Playa Bacocho and the marvelous Villa Sol beach club. Everyday we were served a different and delicious full breakfast. There is a delightfully cool swimming pool so welcomed after a day on the hot beach. We had the king bedroom on the top floor which featured a comfortable king bed enclosed with mosquito netting and a super ceiling fan. The room is tight but carefully designed so there is no wasted space. There is a separate terrace with a two person glider. The owners, Paul and Luisa are extremely helpful and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The room is totally open to the outside so it took a day to accustom to the presence of some of the insects. There were few especially since it is so dry here.
