Beliggenheden var spot on.

A Tropical Paradise at Hotel Isla Bonita, Zanzibar
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the enchanting Hotel Isla Bonita in Zanzibar, and the experience was nothing short of magical.
The first thing that struck me was the warm and genuine hospitality of the staff. The team at Hotel Isla Bonita goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and pampered. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent service truly set this hotel apart.
The accommodations are simply stunning. My room boasted breathtaking views of the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The design seamlessly blended modern luxury with traditional Zanzibari elements, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The room was impeccably clean, and the thoughtful amenities provided added a touch of indulgence to my stay.
There are sometimes rare power cuts!

Everything was incredible and made our trip a dream! The property’s location is amazing and the sea view room we booked was perfect. From the warm reception and great service, to the welcoming + very helpful + attentive staff, the clean rooms, big pool and great food for breakfast, lunch and supper (buffet of course), everything was awesome and made our trip most enjoyable. Picture this: have your afternoon coffee on a cushiony swing right on the beach with a gentle sea breeze on your face as you stare out into the crystal blue ocean and bury your feet in the powdery white sand. Thank you Mustafa and Ahmed for your hospitality and for being kind enough to let us check out late because our flight was late in the evening.
I liked everything! Please keep it up!

Located in a nice place and is newer
The owner and the manager are terrible. They are only looking to grab money. I was asked to pay full money as soon as I stepped inside the hotel, generally by itself it’s no big deal but the owner wants to get your money even before you settle in. Next comes the worst dinner buffet. They overcharge for it ($15 per person) and they hardly give any good options. The food also didn’t taste good. To add insult to injury, one of the staff told me that Fanta was included in the price but they ended up charging $2 for it. When I brought this up, the owner said “Show me which staff told you that it was free” and constantly kept asking me to point fingers at the person who told me it was free. When it comes to shower, there was no pressure (or even water for that matter).
The owner is not a local person and had no sense of hospitality/customer service, while every other hotel we stayed at in Zanzibar had amazing local hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I recommend people stay away from this cash grab hotel and find other good accommodation nearby.

We were thoroughly impressed. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities including a TV. The hotel staff were truly awesome - they were welcoming, friendly and always ready to assist with any request or inquiry.
The location of the hotel is perfect, with stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. The hotel's facilities and services were top-notch, with a fantastic restaurant serving delicious meals and offered a great selection of soft drinks and fresh juices.
One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic service provided by the hotel staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and their friendly and attentive approach really made me feel at home.
Overall, I highly recommend the Isla Bonita hotel for anyone visiting Matemwe, Zanzibar. The combination of clean and comfortable rooms, stunning location, delicious food, and outstanding service makes it a top choice for accommodation on the island.

staff were very helpful
They have ok meal

Their only redeeming qualities are that breakfast was good (cats are a nuisance when trying to eat), the hotel is clean and they hung up balloons for my Mom's 70th birthday.
We had a horrible experience at this hotel. It was poorly managed during our stay, which was during low season.
We had NO electricity from 1pm to 10pm on our arrival day. And we were the only two guests in this entire hotel.
No air con, no WiFi, no TV, no lights & it was storming. This put us down in the dumps on day 1.
It felt like a colossal waste of money.
I couldn't pay by card due to their card machine issues and the acting manager shouted across the courtyard, "MAYBE IT'S YOUR CARD!" It wasn't, as I used this card that same day (day 2 of our trip) in Stone Town. The following morning (around 2am) the electricity went off again. At 8am in the morning, I messaged the manager and he said that it was out of his control and that the entire island had been affected. I questioned about the generator, and 20 minutes after my complaint, the hotel's generator miraculously started up. Still no WiFi or TV though.
I alerted Bookings.com and we paid in cash and checked out immediately after 2 nights.
There is no sense of customer service at this place from the acting manager. From personal experience, I felt that we were treated this way because we are 2 women. He tried to bamboozle us. And he was rude to us and the driver who picked us up from a different company.
My advice - don't waste your money here. Rather go to Stone Town during Zanzibar's low season and have a trip that's worthwhile & shows a true reflection of this beautiful island and its warm people.

peaceful paradise, in 50 meters from the beach. great ocean view from the balcony/breakfast spot. New spacious rooms, large comfortable bed, always clean bathroom.
most supportive manager Mostafa, who is always ready to help you with anything.
you should book this hotel just to have this rare experience, when a manager really cares.
unstable wi-fi and weak water pressure sometimes, but it’s the whole island problem. just be ready to face it

Isla Bonita is your choice if you’re looking for a relaxing beachfront property far from crowded tourist areas.
We felt right at home right from day one. We were welcomed warmly by the owners and services were always rendered with a smile.
Loved the food and most of all the beautiful beach which was just a stone throw away.
Would definitely visit again!

Mustafa and Ahmed were exceptionally friendly and helpful and clearly wanted to make our stay the best it could be. Mustafa is passionate about making sure guests have an enjoyable stay. The pool was amazing - so big and warm and gradual sloping depth, perfect for young kids. Lovely breakfast and lovely staff.
I wouldn’t say there was anything we disliked but it’s useful to know there’s not much within walking distance. You’ll need a hire car or be prepared for taxis everywhere.

The owners are great. They agreed that we could stay in the room a half day longer due to the fact that we had a plane after midnight. What's more, we got as we asked a room on the first floor. The rest of the staff was very nice too. The hotel and the rooms are neat and decorated in a cool style. a big plus is the view from each room of the ocean. Another thing worth mentioning is the rooftop terrace with a brilliant view. PS. Owners should do some nice place to sit and chill there! The beach is beautiful as on the east coast, but you have to remember about the tides and algae thrown out by the sea, but the beach is also wide enough at the hotel area that they do not cause much trouble. Moreover this is one of this beaches in Zanzibar that there is not a lot of tourists.
The biggest downside is the village near the hotel. As a result, the children approached our sunbeds few times, suggesting that they would like to get something. However, it cannot be ruled out that it may be albo in a different area, but perhaps something could be done to not disturb guests.
The breakfasts were very tasty. They consisted of a drinks, a plate of fruits and menu dishes that you could choose, but each time some of them were unavailable. However, you can definitely eat there tasty!

A charming, small, intimate hotel, on the border of two wonderful, wide beaches inviting to walks: Matemwe Beach and Pwani Mchangani Beach.
Peace and quiet, you do not hear morning calls to prayer, as in some buildings near the village center.
Superb location right on the beach, each room with a priceless view of the unbelievably turquoise ocean and a beautiful sunrise.
Swimming pool with sun beds at the back of the hotel, plus a place to relax and enjoy the ocean view in the front area (hammocks, sun loungers, swing bed).
Bright and spacious rooms, with air conditioning, cleaned daily.
Good restaurant with a great view of the ocean.
Extremely rich breakfasts, mainly in the form of a buffet.
Fantastic staff headed by a nice hotel manager who is always ready to help - thank you all for everything!
I am grateful for a wonderful time at this place!

Was my first trip to Zanzibar, but for sure not my last. A very professional team managed by Mr. Mustafa and Ahmed. All the team were there to assist at any time and doing their best to provide an immaculate customer service with a smile and positive vibes.
I would like to thank Lisa and Roleen, Hakuna Matata girls, Yassine and Youssef will miss you.
An amazing hotel.
Clean rooms.
Amazing Indian ocean sun rise.
Super delicious food.
Hope to meet next year.
Keep it up guys and wish you all the BEST.
Nothing to mention.
Its so sad that i didn't book for more days to enjoy more.

Beautiful views, Comfortable room, exceptional staff. The location is quiet and peaceful. Perfect for quiet getaways, maybe not so ideal for party animals.
Guests can bring their own adult beverages, a mini fridge would be a great addition.
4.1
The hotel is right on the beach. All the rooms have amazing sea view. breakfast is freshly made and served every morning in the restaurant area, alas with beautiful view of the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The hotel could use an update. We where told this will happen soon.

Great location, right on the beach. Staff and owner all very friendly and welcoming! Would stay again.
4.1
The place was just for us!
No noise, no travelers etc..
Upon arrival, there was an issue between booking paiment and the location.
Then water was almost not existant in the room and the pool was half empty and of course no filtering...
Breakfast was ok but we had jam etc but actually no bread to pread it on...
Last but not least when I wanted a beer, the answer was not its ramadan and its a Muslim country... Sorry but I am a tourist on holiday and should be free to decide what I want to drink and eat and we should respect everyone's belief or state that its a non alcooholic place!

We loved how clean the Resort was. We equally loved the promptness and politeness of the staff. And of course, the location is so beautiful.
4.1
Clean rooms with good wifi
The hotel is far from everything- behind it there is a village with shacks. The nice postcard beaches are up north. Due to this location you are very dependent on the hotel services (drives, water, food) for which you will never actually know the price because there is no price list. You will be presented an „overall bill“ at the end with tailormade prices, just for you ;)
The breakfast is awful: two eggs and a toast every single day. In all the years of travelling it has never happened to me that I was denied fruit for breakfast when in the next 5 minutes a plate of fruit is brought to the other table. Not recommended.

Property is an awesome environment, facilities were perfect for the environment.
Quality of food was terrible for the price
4.1
Not too many options for breakfast but overall the quality of the food was great! The location of the room was right on the beach which was perfect. Also, the room was clean and had a smart TV which was a bonus.
The pool was of a nice size and location but had a few dead insects.

The location , the serene , the staffs , the beach , love the sounds of it at the cool of the nights - the view of the sea 🌊 , I enjoyed the meals from the chef as well , he makes the food according to your desire , the fried chicken taste really good - the shower running great and hot - the staffs are always at standby to attend to your needs
Probably the road outside but to me it’s nothing compared to what I enjoyed at the resort -

Was straight in the beach and food was delicious. Pool was nice. Very nice and helpful staff
Too far from everything. No minibar in room to keep some drinking water etc. Would be nice to put a kettle and tray with supplies in room.
