About this house rental
SUMMARY
El Torreón is a large comfortable hacienda available for retreats and quiet getaways. The home is made in traditional Santa Fe style; high ceilings, vigas (wood beams), massive walls making it warm in winter, cool in summer, kiva fireplaces, and an enclosed courtyard with a fountain and fruit trees. It’s five minutes to some of the most popular area restaurants: El Nido, Tesuque Market, Bishops Lodge (soon to reopen with an amazing new restaurant), and a few minutes more to either the plaza or the Santa Fe Opera. Since this home is part of a quiet community, we ask that it is not rented for parties or celebrations and that music stays at a reasonable indoor volume. In addition, this home is not pet friendly and we ask those with service animals to seek other accommodations as the owner is very allergic to all dogs, even hypoallergenic ones.
El Torreon, which means "The Tower," is surrounded by trees and water--Tesuque Creek on the west, and the Acequia Madre de Tesuque, a 300-year-old irrigation ditch, on the east. The area is known for its deciduous trees and cool valley location. Deer sometimes wander down from mesa hill to the East which also has a great hiking/walking trail in addition to the Windsor Trail accessible by foot from Bishop's Lodge Road. The Acequia runs in the Spring and Summer months depending on water supplies. Tesuque creek varies from a trickle in the summer months to an energetic torrent after a rainstorm in the mountains.
BED AND BATH
This spectacular home has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Two master bedrooms have beautiful king-size beds and kiva fireplaces, one private patio and mountain views. There are two spacious bedrooms with Queen size beds, one with a kiva fireplace and French doors to the courtyard. The last bedroom contains two sets of bunk beds.
OUTDOOR SPACE
El Torreon has numerous flagstone patios and portals (covered areas to relax and enjoy the surroundings), a large rooftop deck above with views of the creek and hillside, and an outdoor fireplace. Its location is quiet and private.

Incredible property - extremely well maintained, meticulously cleaned, with tons of nice amenities. This house made our trip! Communication with management with easy and they were helpful with all my questions.

4 separate families came together for a saddened time (funeral) but the fact that we could all be together with plenty of room was amazing. The home was amazing. The kitchen was big enough for all of us to sit. The outside, upstairs sitting area was so relaxing and beautiful. Listening to the nearby creek was very calming.

We had a family reunion with 12 people. We thoroughly enjoyed the outside spaces and especially the large living room. The master bedrooms were great. We weren't quite prepared for the rugged road leading into the house but overall it was a terrific experience. Thanks Two Casitas!

This house made a great base for a long weekend exploring Santa Fe! We were a group of ten friends coming from all over the country. The house had several great outside spaces and the kitchen and large room were fantastic places for gathering. As stated in some other reviews and the pictures, there are three nicer bedrooms (two very nice ones!) and two bedrooms that are connected to one another, which aren't quite as nice. But we knew that going in-pictures are accurate, and all beds were still comfortable! Everything was spotless, and we just loved so clearly feeling like we were in the southwest even when we were at the house! We were less than 10 minutes from downtown but still felt so quiet and peaceful. Thanks for a great stay!

The house, layout and decor were just perfect for our family mini-vacation.
The house, layout and decor were just perfect for our family mini-vacation. The Nanny's "wing" of the house, could use some attention with regard to decor and general amenities. We had 3 adults staying in that space and it was a bit embarrassing to have them there when the rest of the house was so lovely. They were also challenged with regard to clothing storage - no closet or hooks to hang clothing?

Great family home for a large gathering
We recently spent a week with our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren at El Torreon (10 individuals total). This home is gorgeous with plenty of room for socializing, game playing, reading and enjoying the outdoors. Because of COVID-19, we were sociallly distanced and cooked all of our meals in the beautifully appointed and well-equipped kitchen. We had all of our meals outdoors on the patio. There is lots of wildlife to enjoy and hiking trails within a mile's walk. A stream flows right by the home, a sound that is soothing at bedtime. The managers were very responsive to some repair issues, coming out to inspect things within a few hours of a call. Our only suggestion: upgrade the internet to more effectively cover the entire home. (There were a few of the rooms, including both master bedrooms, where there was no coverage). We would love to return at a time when we can more fully enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer.

Our large family loved our stay.
Our large family loved our stay. The property was clean and well appointed. There was room for everyone from toddler twins to grandparents. We would highly recommend this beautiful property. We celebrated a birthday and a belated Christmas while we were in Santa Fe and we talked about how much fun it would be to come back during the summer season! Thank you for helping us make family memories!

The property and your service exceeded my expectations.
The property and your service exceeded my expectations. My 3 adult children and their partners all said it was the best family vacation we’ve ever had. We hope to return soon. Thank you!
Excellent service from Two Casitas! They answered all my questions timely and the property exceeded my expectations. I accidentally locked myself out of the house during a snowstorm on Thanksgiving Day. I called Two Casitas and they immediately told me how to locate an extra key and even offered to send an agent to open the house for me again.
