Beautiful area and nice place to stay

Beautiful home with lots of room for everyone. Only fault are low ceilings in the downstairs bedroom and stair way. Im am not a tall person and hit my head multiple times, lol. But if we are ever in this area again i would definitely stay here.

Very nice host, great place, and very accommodating!

This is a wonderful location for stopping between Copper Center and the Kenai for us. Location is quiet and the house has everything you need. Kitchen is well stocked. The owner was excellent and easy to contact for our questions.

We enjoyed the stay so much. Great location, accommodations and cozy.

If anyone in your party has mobility issues this property has stairs and upper and lower levels.
Be careful of low ceilings in lower and upper level bedrooms are sloped ceilings. This property is very well stocked except no hair dryer. If you are able bodied it's a very nice place to stay. Thanks

The sunken livingroom was updated and comfortable. Washer and dryer was a little hard to maneuver loading and unloading, and no way to close off the noise it makes.

Great cabin in Girdwood, loved the kitchen, and gas grill

We just had a quick stay, just a place to lay our heads but we had no problems

very comfortable home with room to spread out. Nice quiet town. Easy access to Whittier for fishing.

Good location at the edge of the ski resort action.

Great property. Fairly secluded, clean comfortable home, soft beds, and a great location. I highly recommend this location.

Great stay. Not so good for people over 6ft. All of us bumped our heads on the low ceilings.
Two beds had very low railings. A dressing mirror somewhere would be hood. Wall or door something. Master bath mirror yiu head to bend o er to see.

Nice older home in a good location. Living area is comfortable, cramped sleeping for 3 couples. One bedroom is very small.

We were not impressed by this home. The front door had a good sized gap between the door and the door jam. The house smelled super musty. Most of the furniture was outdoor furniture. The house had a lot of strange angles and rooms. We did not enjoy our stay.

This property was very clean & well stocked. Although the property was in the trees we did have a nice mountain view.
The home had smaller rooms than we imagined & some quirky corners & features but overall we enjoyed the place & its location.

A good place to stay a night before a whale watching tour.

This was our second time staying here. We really enjoy the location and all the room at the house.

I was looking for a place in Girdwood that was large enough for my family of 5, close to both hiking trails and restaurants and was also a short drive to Whittier. This place checked all the boxes. It was also quite possibly the best stocked rental I’ve ever had. We didn’t cook any meals there but meal prep would have been easy because the kitchen has everything you could need. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Works for what we needed. Quiet and plenty of room.

The weather outside was frightful but the house and location were outstanding. Fairly easy walk, besides the ice/rain, to Sitzmark and dinner at Jack Sprat. Fireworks and tor h ceremonies were great for NYE!

Comfortable property that's well appointed. Nice mattresses can't be overstated. We enjoyed our stay

We picked this location so we could meander around between Seward and Anchorage. It was the perfect spot! The home was clean and well equipped. The furniture was really comfortable and there was plenty of room for game nights. Close to restaurants and the highway.
The only thing I would caution - the ceilings are steeply sloped in the bedroom. We were a group of short statured fools and found it a bit challenging. If you’re especially tall, I would imagine it would be challenging.
Definitely would stay again!

Great location!
The property itself has unfortunately experienced a good amount of water damage. The laundry is a challenge to access given a sliding door is in the way. There were several quirks about the lay out. Can tell this is a rental. Not a long term property.

Pleasant living area and kitchen. But the tiny bedrooms downstairs were a big disappointment…had to remake beds as sheets were sloppily put on, very uncomfortable, ceiling sloped in one room with bed pushed beside wall. Scratched hand on ceiling when turning over. We didn’t use the upstairs bedroom as the stairs were too steep with no railing and no bathroom upstairs. Okay for one night.

We enjoyed a lovely one night stay in Girdwood. The home was very cozy, clean, and close to everything. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Friendly and helpful host. Easy in and out. We’ll appointed and comfortable. Nice views of mountain

When we booked the house, we found it strange that there were not a lot of pictures of the inside and outside. However, we read the reviews and it seemed to be ok for our needs. Communication with the host, Thea, was good until after we checked in. The house is in a good location and seemed convenient, especially when skiing in Alyeska. The pictures show the best parts of the house, including the kitchen, the bigger downstairs bedroom, the master in the loft and the family room.
However, after checking in we discovered that the inside of the house is a big mess. We had to do some laundry and sorted our clothes on the living room floor, as floor space is limited. When we picked up the clothes, we also picked up wads of hair (not ours - likely dog hair) and small plastic pieces that were embedded in the shaggy carpet. We then looked around more and nearly every surface, other than easy-to-clean areas, like kitchen counters had a layer of dust on it and there were cobwebs in many corners. We checked the sheets and towels to make sure they were clean and they were. In the process, we discovered that one of the beds was a stack of worn out mattress and boxspring with a foam cover on top that doesn't fit. Every closet in the house was full of "junk" and drawers in the kitchen were crammed with items that just got thrown in. As it was quite warm when we arrived, we opened all the windows, just to discover that several window screens didn't fit and would have let mosquitos in. The outside isn't much better. The entrance way became a muddy mess due to the rain (which is a given in Alaska in July and August). The roof is leaking right before the front door, so you get drenched while opening the door when there is a lot of rain, and the water seems to leak into the door, creating a moldy smell in the entry way. There was some room on the front patio, but the side patio was unusable, as it was just another pile of junk.
It wasn't bad enough that we had to leave, but it definitely was not worth the money that we paid for it.
When we messaged the host about this house badly needing a deep cleaning, all communication stopped. Our message wasn't even acknowledged, let alone any action taken, and when we informed her of our check-out, again no response.
We have had many different vacation rentals, but this was probably our worst experience so far.

We were excited to find a place close to Anchorage for one night and we were not disappointed with our stay! It was in a beautiful setting and we wish we had time to stay longer! The house was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed a great view of the mountain. My only suggestion would be one of the beds was uncomfortable and the mattress may need to be updated.

The house is beautiful and clean, great views out of the windows and green space all around!
