Un petit hôtel de charme extrêmement sympathique.

La grandeur des chambres et le style de l’hôtel. Le personnel est discret et très sympathique. Nous avons commencé notre séjour au Laos en dormant dans cet hôtel et nous avons terminé notre séjour en revenant dans cet hôtel avant notre départ. Quand on est bien quelque part on y revient !

Une partie du mobilier extérieur autour de la piscine mériterait d’être réactualisé ainsi que la palissade côté piscine.

Beautiful but loud!

The staff were amazing! Friendly, polite, and helpful. They gave the impression that nothing was too much and went to a lot of effort to support with things like booking taxis and trips. When I had trouble paying on arrival due to my bank security, they allowed us to pay on departure instead, giving me time to sort out the banking issue. The building itself is stunning! We booked the place because it looked to have character, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in one of the rooms separate to the main building, and it was lovely. It had a traditional aesthetic to it, which we really liked. It was a large room with plenty of space. We didn't feel cramped at any point during our stay. The bathroom was a good size, too. We normally never eat in hotel restaurants, but after arriving on our first day, we decided to risk it rather than trying to find somewhere local to eat! We were rather impressed, the food was good, and the dishes came in decently sized portions. The pool was reasonably sized and clean. The opening hours for the pool are long, so if like us you prefer to be out sightseeing during the day and have a dip late in the evening to cool off, this is a bonus!

Unfortunately, the major downside to this beautiful place is something that none of the staff could rectify. The noise!! Nearby is a large open restaurant that has live music. For hours every night, we were inundated with painful wailing from what sounded like a third-rate karaoke singer and thumping bass! Even the earplugs provided free by the hotel were not enough to block it out! We had seen nothing about this in the reviews we read, otherwise, I would never have booked as a light sleeper. My husband managed to sleep, but I felt physically ill by the end of our stay because of such poor sleep. I feel bad for marking the hotel down for this as it is not within their control and they have taken steps to rectify it (providing earplugs) but a warning for those of us who struggle to sleep unless our environment is silent would be fair! Without this issue, the Chandara would easily be a 9!

We had a lovely stay at the Chandara Boutique Hotel & would stay there again.

The pool was excellent - we were in the pool every day to cool off as some days it was 45 degrees. Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice & yoghurt & fruit which not all hotels provide. Breakfast was included in the price, which is a bonus. We also used the restaurant & the food was great. The staff were absolutely terrific - so helpful, could not do enough for us. This hotel is in the French Colonial style, which we loved. The room we had was very spacious. It's not too far from the centre of town in a tuk tuk or a taxi. We found the tuk tuks cheaper & cooler - as you drive along you get a great breeze which cools you off.

The only negative was that, although clean, the bathroom could do with a mould remover in the showere area. Everywhere else in the bathroom was fine - no problem.

Poor quality not due the hotel but its location (far from everywhere & noisy with open-air karaoke)

Very walm welcome of the staff Good level of services and staff can easily arrange/ manage service independent of the hotel

Preiswerte Unterkunft mit überschaubarem Luxus in einer mittelmässigen Gegend.

Das Hotel war sauber und preiswert & die Angestellten waren freundlich.

Das Hotelgelände war etwas gar klein. Auf der einen Seite befand sich ein Innenhof gleich neben dem Pool, dort fuhren häufig Autos ein und aus. Der Schall und Gestank waberte zum Poolbereich hinüber.

Beautiful Hotel, the staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The food at the hotel was very delicious. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Laos.

The food at the restaurant was great and the pool was clean.

The towels and linens need to be replaced. The bed sheets were okay, but the towels and table cloths at the restaurant were gross. The shower was full of mold, and it was not clean and comfortable, especially for the price. The area to lay by the pool was very shaded, so it was hard to get sun because of the trees.

A great choice when visiting Vientiane

Our first accommodation in Laos started a great holiday. Beautiful traditional premises, an excellent restaurant and, above all, very friendly and helpful staff. I wish there was such accommodation everywhere. Wifi excellent, own parking spaces, bike rental, currency exchange. The pool is very clean and pleasant. Thank you for the good times. A short distance from the airport.

Exceptional

A charming hotel with a nice clean swimming pool that makes it a lot easier to survive through the hot days. The staff was exceptionally nice and tried to do everything so that we would be happy. When we wanted to change the room (because in the first one the air-condition blew straight onto our bed) they offered us another room immediately. The rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfasts included were delicious (and the food that you could order for lunch and dinner too).

The only thing that could be better - the time of the dinner. If I remember correctly, dinner finishes at 19:00, and after that you can't get any food.

Nice Lao style wooden hotel, with helpful staff.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated on Lao style, and the pool area is also cosy. The food was always very tasty and the staff is helpful.

Location is not central, you have to take a tuk-tuk ride or taxi services provided by the hotel with very reasonable prices. This hotel is not modern, so if you don't like local style wooden hotels, you might be disappointed.

Nice hotel in Vientiane that we can recommend

The hotel has a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining area was exceptionally nice and the breakfast was good. The hotel is a good choice for Vientiane and value for money.

The location is a bit far out of town and the walk into town is not that great. In the evening until 11pm we could hear music very loudly from a nearby venue. It didn't bother us too much as we didn't go early to bed, but if you want to sleep early it is really disturbing.

Room was big and clean. Staff were polite and always available. Reception booked a taxi to the airport when I was leaving. Quality service all round.

Didn't like the restaurant. Ate there for dinner but wasn't a fan of the food. Location is a bit out of town but it's a good trade off for the facilities & price. Shower facility could be updated. Shower head was too low for me to stand under.

Good value stay with great staff

Staff were excellent and food was really good too. Room good, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Room had view over pool which was good. Good choice, we were happy. Cheap transfer to airport.

There was noise from the Karaoke club till about midnight but the hotel are very open about this and provide earplugs.

Nice, relaxed atmosphere, helped very much so by Nou’s dedication.

The staff were friendly & helpful, especially NOU. He was very efficient and friendly. I really enjoyed the pool, nice & clean, beautiful surroundings.

Other than a couple of minor issues with the plumbing, which was ok in the end… the property was fine.
