Comfy beds, lovely views, great staff
Having a balcony and not being able to smoke on it, but a personal preference.

Room was excellent with view over to Felixstowe container port & Harwich. Nice walks in vicinity, bar was open and evening meal was excellent.
Due to Covid restrictions, the cooked breakfast wasn't available until 10am. Although there were ample items left in the room, a continental breakfast isn't the same as a nice cooked English.
4.5
Slight smell of cooking grease.

The room was very clean and welcoming, with a very comfy bed. The views from the balcony overlooking Felixstowe and Harwich are great.
All members of staff were friendly and helpful.

Had a fabulous stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable in a superb location with a great outlook over to Felixstowe docks. Had a great time watching the container ships from the balcony and the wider area of the Orwell and Stour estuaries is very picturesque. We took the foot ferry over to Felixstowe for a visit to Landguard Fort and nature reserve.

The welcome was friendly and warm, so clean and tidy! peaceful and just perfect for a night away for me and the other half.
There wasn’t anything that we could find fault with.

Staff were very friendly & helpful. they also let us check out at 11 so we got an extra hours sleep which is why we went away (we have 4 kids so sleep doesn’t come often) we also forgot our playing cards & they had some that they lent us for the night which was helpful. much appreciated :)
the views at night look amazing with the lights shining off the water.
most of the parking spaces close to hotel was taken up by boats. didnt see any disabled parking although there might have been some, Maybe we didnt see them.

lovely location. it’s a pity that the menu isn’t more extensive and that the bar closes so early
as above

Fabulous room at an outstanding location with uninterrupted views of Harwich, and the port of Felixstowe. We were lucky with the weather and went out a lot, but even on a damp day there was so much to see. Room was very spacious, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Alex and the team were amazing. Very helpful, friendly and took the time to tell us about the area. Food and drink in the restaurant and bar offered a good selection. Will definitely aim to go back. Thank you!
For us there was nothing we did not like.
4.5
Great location, clean tidy and staff very friendly. Good communication
Would of liked to have breakfast available earlier (didnt start until 10) and bar open longer (shut at 9 or earlier if quiet)

The room was great over looking the Orwell estuary. Very clean and the location was ideal.
Breakfast wasn’t included and it was only available from 10am. The bar in the restaurant below the accommodations shut at 10pm.

Veri nice breakfast, Location was Lovely and right next to Ganges Museum which was perfect for the purpose of our 50 year Reunion, as Ex Ganges Boys and our Lovely PO John Swapp ! and catching up on old times and memories, Perfect !
Food for a longer period throughout the day and perhaps the bar open until 22.00 hrs would have been nice and also breakfast served from 9.00 am would have been better, but we do realise the hosts would have had to put in more time, which would have been difficult as they are under staffed at the moment, so quite understandable.

No fridge in the room!

Loved the location, the room and food at the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.
10 o'clock check out is too early. Could not get breakfast before 10 and there is no other option in Shotley Gate. We asked the night before if we could buy a muffin or a piece of cake which were in trays on the counter but were told that the restaurant closes at 8pm. We were not offered anything. Must say that the coffee in the room is delicious.
