About this house rental

This nice house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the second floor with view on the lake from the living room and dining room.
The second level has an amazing view of Lake. At the back of the house, you can find a nice patio with outside furniture, so you can spend a nice time pretty privately.
This house has 1 dedicated parking on Lake Shore drive and there is a driveway where you can park up to 3-4 SUVs or 4x4 cars, the driveway is steep so please take it to consideration. We do recommend bringing your own towels & beach supplies as we do not have them readily available for guests!

Overall the stay was great, the location was outstanding. Unfortunately we did have some random people show up to view the property as it is currently on the market without any notice due to a miscommunication which was not ideal. Another piece of information was that there is an apartment that was part of the property that was not disclosed in the listing. The parking while was there was rather troublesome at times with the resident from downstairs and their guests. The outside of the residence needs some loving care and attention but it seems as though perhaps with it being sold that hasn’t been a priority.

Check in process wasn’t great. Description on where to locate the lockbox for the key was poor and the beds were terrible. We left a night early because all 6 of us couldn’t take another night in the beds. No kitchen wash clothes and one 2 for the showers.

We booked this property early last winter and at that time the listing included access to a downstairs bedroom. The property was listed as sleeping 10 people and when I booked, I indicated that we would have 9 people in my party. As we were driving to the property on check-in day, the property manager emailed that there were only 3 bedrooms and noticed I had 9 in my party. After some back and forth, it turns out that they were no longer including the downstairs bedroom in the rental, but had failed to communicate this to us prior to our arrival. When we arrived at the property, we found that it could only accommodate 7 people and we were scrambling to figure out how to accommodate our party. What was more frustrating was that even though the unit was now listed for $200 LESS per night that what I had paid, the owner fought me until the last day and finally gave us $1000 back (instead of the $1400 difference). To make matters worse, there was an ant infestation in the kitchen, the dishwasher was broken and didn't work until the last full day of our stay, and when we arrived all but one parking space was taken by other people. I will say the property manager was responsive about those issues even though it took a number of visits to rectify the problems. The location is great and the outdoor spaces were greatly enjoyed by us, but having the owner balk at correcting an issue that was 100% their screw up and bordering on fraud was a disappointment to say the least.

While the house was indeed a VERY short walk from the beach, the property itself was in need of a lot of care. The broken garbage disposal included a bowl to catch water underneath that would have overflowed if we hadn't noticed it, and the main refrigerator didn't work for the first 24 hours. Additionally, the outlets in the en suite were broken, and the bed in the master bedroom was so uncomfortable I had to check to see if we were sleeping on actual bedsprings. Also, there is no parking space up front (parking is only available at the top of a VERY steep driveway), and the property instructions, which included nearby restaurants and tips for the area, were at least 10 years out of date. I think I read somewhere that this property was in need of a big hug and that's the perfect way to describe it. With that said, you cannot beat the location. Being that close to the beach was convenient and easy for both the adults and children.

We had a great time! Ran around town in the morning, made sandwiches and spent the afternoon on the beach. So close to everything, nested above it all. The property could use a hug, but the house itself was really great! Equipped with almost everything you'd need, plus a few things.

I've stayed at this property twice now and I love it more each time. The location is unbeatable and it's great for a family getaway. My only complaint is the oven. I think there's a default sabbath mode setting that kicks in. It's foiled dinner two years in a row, but I won't forget about this weird mode again. Despite this annoyance, I'm ready to book again for next year. I love the place!

This is an older home with a great location. House is clean and has the basics. Outside areas are great, but could use some cleaning up. Lots of minor issues with the house that should be addressed more proactively. That said, owner was very responsive. Beware of very steep driveway. No issue for an suv, but could be problematic for sedans. Overall, good rental with great view and location.

Wonderful view of lake. Just a block easy walk down to beach. The hot tub was a nice addition to our 2 week stay. The lower level had a problem with toilet. Called twice but still didn’t work. Son said it was a cheap part needed. He just held ball or whatever up until it filled the tank. Otherwise, we enjoyed the well furnished kitchen plus the outdoor deck where you could see the lake, boats while sitting in comfortable patio seating. neighborhood was quiet. It was a perfect place for our military son who came home from another deployment, and daughter with her kiddos. children loved the bunk bed with queen lower bunk. We had a great time. Perfect for our family. Property owners very nice too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this wonderful property. The walk to the beach was so easy and the views from the house are spectacular. The kitchen had most of the basics and lots of space. We had our young cousins staying a few nights and they had a blast running around the place. There were no beach toys included, but that was not a problem. There were a few things that could have been better. For example the hot tub was filthy on arrival, but a call was made and it was taken care of the next day. Also, beware of poison ivy growing around the walls outside by the table in back. All in all it was perfect for what we needed. We hope to make it a yearly occurrence!

I loved the property and would certainly rent it again. I would love to see better communication from the property manager, though. I felt in the dark each step of the way, which is frustrating for someone who meticulously plans. I also nearly missed the email with the entrance codes because it looked like a phishing message since it was vague, came from an unknown address, and included an attachment.

The communication with the owner was not great at first, but they definitely made everything right and came through when needed. The house is fantastic, the neighborhood is great, the people are warm. 5/5 overall.

Our family (6 adults, 1 toddler, and a dog) had a great trip. The view is beautiful and the beach is just a block away. We enjoyed family meals both inside and on the patio. The home is a bit dated, but comfortable and spacious. We did have an issue with the plumbing, which the host addressed promptly.

We had a great stay in mid-July. The house could not be in a better location, just a few short blocks from the beach with a lakeview out the front windows and front porch of the house. We found the property was as described. It offered many great outdoors spaces for our group to hang out. We enjoyed our stay!

When we arrived we had some difficulty getting into the property. There were two key lock boxes and we only had the code for one. Then once we got in we found the house had not been cleaned yet. In both issues, we got a very quick response from the owner, and the cleaning crew arrived quickly and did an amazing job. The rest of our stay was wonderful. Great owners and a wonderful property, highly recommend!

We were there for the boat races and waited way to late to book anything and this listing popped up and it actually turned out to be perfect. The owner states that the driveway is steep but worked for us and even had extra parking in front on the road. We loved that it has two units for our group of racers. Every part from start to end was handled very professional. We will be booking it for next years race.

This was a very nice rental . The property manager was very helpful . Clean, spacious , great view, well equipped , & furnished. The only reason we give this a 4 star rating is for the parking . Parking is tight on the street & the driveway to steep to park .

Great, clean property that provides a tree-line sanctuary and view of Lake MI. Thumbs-up. Only suggestion is that the kitchen ‘accessories’ could be improved upon including larger ‘vessels’ for preparing/serving. If U like to cook, bring your favorite ‘accessories, to use in this kitchen.
