About this house rental
Surround yourself with beachfront luxury in two of the most amazing homes in Gig Harbor. These homes were once owned by a very affluent family and used as their summer retreat. Featured in Sunset Magazine for their design and location in 1962 and updated by us in 2019 these homes are beyond amazing. Located on the lighthouse point, these two homes have everything you can imagine to vacation with your friends and family. Low bank waterfront on three sides means you are literally surrounded by water and sand beaches. Relax by the fire pit or sit and sip wine from the beach or one of the 3 decks while watching, seals, otters and the occasional whale play in the water. Watch the sun come up while gazing out over the water at Mt Rainer from your back deck and watch it set over the yachts in the harbor from your front deck. Wander over to the Gig Harbor Lighthouse, kayak to Tides Tavern or be picked up on your private dock by the Gondola for a romantic ride through the harbor. Fall asleep at night to the sound of the waves lapping on the beach and awake to water views while still tucked snuggly in your comfortable bed. Private deep water moorage means you can even bring your boat along.
7 Bedrooms, 2 kitchens, sauna, large living areas, fireplace, kayaks, 2 laundry rooms, deep water moorage, fire pit, horseshoes, swing, hammock, beach toys, family games, private beaches, and water water every where. Come play on the beach at Lighthouse Point and you will never want to leave. Please note, you must sign rental agreement be 25 years of age or older and provide picture ID upon request.

This property is special! Unmatched beautiful location! The two houses are clean, well equipped, and in good working order. Several outdoor decks, and inside a table large enough for all. Our family of 11 were accomodated comfortably, and since we are all related, we shared the 7 bedrooms and 3 baths well. But if you are looking for more privacy, you might not be comfortable with this set up. The kitchens have ample equipment and dishes for a crowd, and the rental includes a kayak a canoe, and a boat dock where we docked our own boat. There are lots of life jackets in a variety of sizes. And a firepit on the beach with enough chairs for everyone. You need to shlep in your own wood. The kids loved watching playful otters in the water right in front of the deck. One cautionary note — the property is directly at waters edge, and access is down a long steep slope and staircase. Carrying suitcases, groceries, and drinks was not easy! It is safe and well lit but if someone in your group has walking challenges, they will have trouble. There is ample parking at the top of the descent. The owners are responsive, accomodating, and helpful. They met us at checkin to show how to work the a/c, griil, etc and helped carry in a huge load of groceries. They checked with us midweek to see how we were doing, and were responsive quickly when we needed things like lightbulbs. A great property for a family retreat! Gig Harbor is super! Boating across was the quickest way to get there.

Wonderful stay. House is well stocked with everything you would need. Beds were super comfy. Outstanding location with great views. Host was super helpful and responsive. They decorated for the holiday for us so we could have our family holiday celebration. There was 13 in total and we had a great time. Looking forward to returning in spring/summer. Definitely recommended for large groups or families. Such a relaxing weekend. It was great to have such a large space for the toddlers to run around in. Can’t say enough good things. Thank you

Excellent place for a multitude of activities and wildlife sightings!!! We love to cook, play games and be on the water. The lighthouse homes were wonderfully set up for us. Really enjoyed having access to so many watercraft and seeing harbor seals anytime we looked for them! Also saw eagles, nest and babies on walk nearby, great blue heron, pod of dolphin, eggyolk jellyfish, kildeer...Enjoyed the sauna and then dunking in the seawater! The volleyball court near the lighthouse was fun too. Wear shoes to play. Also more courts nearby plus tennis/pickleball. Houses have lots of small gathering areas perfect to leave a puzzle in one area, playgames in another, read quietly in another area... Lots of deckspace too to gather, eat, enjoy the view. Nice to have Pingpong and other games. What would make it primo would be to have another bathroom and to not have the smell of creosote in the glasshouse. Airing it out helps and you get used to it. Fzn experience to be able to paddle over to an outdoor concert or visit rhe farmers market. Great week!!!

Families favorite other than the distance from car to house.

Our stay could not have been better Annie and her husband were easily reachable for check in and any other needs. The place was exactly as shown on the website but even more spectacular in person. We played with kayaks and SUPs with the friendly seals. The kids spent lots of time playing on the beach by the lighthouse and felt like the entire area was ours.great to have all sized life vests. Our kids are already asking to return! Thank you :)

Everyone loved this location for our family vacation. With 13 of us ranging in age from 10-80, there was always something to do. We enjoyed sitting on the decks, making smokes by the campfire, kayaking and paddle boarding, and using the well stocked kitchen. We also went on excursions to Seattle and Mt. Rainier from this location. Annie was very welcoming and helpful.

Our trip including 3 adults 7 younger adults, ages 25 - 35 and was a combo 70th Bday celebration and family reunion.
The setting could not be more beautiful! From inside the house and outside is a panoramic view of the harbor, hillsides, Mount Rainier, with an active harbor of wildlife and boating! Amazing sunsets and sunrises make for a spectacular experience!
All that while being in close proximity to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping etc.

Just much gratitude for the owners for sharing these amazing properties.
We gathered for a reunion around our Mother's Birthday on Easter weekend. The owners were very helpful to us throughout the process. The location is magical. We enjoyed the seals, the kayaks, the night fires inside and out, and the unique varied beauty of each of the houses.
The little town of Gig harbor offered some activities too. We had our local family visit us, created meals together, had multiple couples within our family constellation of three generations, many around the age of 30. Everyone had a good time. We ranged it age from 16 to 83.
Only thing that was a bit challenging was getting the fire wood. We had to buy multiple bundles of wood wrapped in plastic which was a bit against the grain. Maybe there is a local source who would deliver us a bit of unwrapped wood rather? But it all worked out.
Thank-you again and we would do it again.

Both houses were clean, in good repair, well equipped. Annie is a fabulous host and offered extensive support and flexibility for us. We had a family reunion here and the two homes made it absolutely perfect as we had two places to reunite in smaller groups and with different activities. We also had a caterer come one night who prepared our dinner in one house while we played games and visited in the other house with appetizers.
Aside from that, I think the pictures tell the rest of the story better than I can write. This is a special place that will imprint on anyone. A+ and five stars. Thank You, Annie.

My family came from all over the country for a postponed 2020 wedding celebration for my daughter and her wife at the Historic 1625 Tacoma Place (highly recommend). We wanted to spend a few days by the water and this was just awesome. The owners were so friendly and helpful. Everything was comfortable and inviting. We ordered out and picked up food which worked well for us and was fairly close. Lots of places to eat out but we decided to stay in. Rain held off to give us one sunny day with a view of Mt Rainier and a beach bonfire in the evening. Saw one whale breech, seals every day, an osprey, falcon and bald eagle. Would love to return in the summer!

We booked on short notice for a corporate retreat and I couldn't have been happier with the results! The hosts were super helpful, the property was clean and perfect for our large group, and everyone enjoyed the beach and other amenities on the property. Would definitely recommend!

A huge thank you to our wonderful host, Annie, for making such an incredible stay possible.
This stay simply cannot be beat. With beaches just feet away on BOTH sides of the property, the adjacent lighthouse park, firepit, viewing decks, there is no need to go back to your car. With a couple of paddleboards, several kayaks, and a canoe, we were able to easily cross the harbor, visit a brewery, and walk the town. We encountered seals, otters, jellyfish, and crabs. The views were breathtaking. The houses themselves were clean, spacious, and well-equipped. Beach toys, board games, ping pong, were all made available.
It was truly special to be in a place where young children and even my 90 year old grandma could all find something to enjoy. It all made for a truly unforgettable vacation for my family and I.
You can feel confident this place has all you need and that Annie goes above and beyond with providing any information, resources, or recommendations to make your stay the best it can be.

A Memorable Trip
We traveled to the West Coast from Virginia to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Our children and grandchildren joined us in Gig Harbor at the House at the Light. We all had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, the houses were comfortable and lovely and the property offered fun for everyone. Annie was a great host and she responded to anything we needed.

Nature at it's finest
We had a fabulous stay! The houses were exactly as pictured...the weather was perfect! Seals played in the water all day and there was reportedly a whale sighting as well. Mt. Ranier stands majestically out one side of the house, with a sunrise glow in the early morning, only to be followed by an alpenglough at sunset. Could hardly relax because I couldn't stop taking pictures! There is nowhere I would rather stay in Gig Harbor!
Annie was a very responsive host when we had questions.
5 stars are definitely deserved!

We had a wonderful family vacation staying at the lighthouse property. Annie was always available for any questions or concerns we had. With the two houses we had plenty of room for our group of 11. We all enjoyed the ocean, wildlife and scenery!!!

We stayed for 3 nights. The location can't be beat. The insulation in the house was perfect for the cold but sunny temperature outside. We were able to congregate comfortably in both houses, and not feel too crowded.

Our extended family had a wonderful stay at Annie's place. We walked the beaches, played ping pong, cards and board games, did jigsaw puzzles and cooked and ate and cooked and ate for 4 days. We saw numerous harbor seals, sea lions and a whale. Even the birds provided a lot of entertainment. This place is truly special. If we had come in summer we would have used all the water craft too.

What a great trip and what a great property. There were 14 of us including two infants. Annie was such great host! She greeted us there and was available at all times if we needed anything. Having two separate homes was so great with so many people. The log house was perfect for the little guys to run around in and the other house was a nice place to chill on the deck with everyone at sunset. We loved playing corn hole and using the the many kayaks and SUPs to cruise the water and head over to town. Thanks!

We had the most wonderful family vacation at this property. Annie and her husband were wonderful hosts/property managers. Like other posts mention - the property is even better in person than in the photos. The property was just amazing - we had constant wildlife surrounding the house - seals, otters, deer, rabbits... Our kids could play in the sand on the beach. We were able to take out the paddle boards, kayaks, and canoe every day. The weather was beautiful (50s in the morning and warmed up to 80s in the afternoon). We could not have asked for a more relaxing, beautiful location to unwind. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a family reunion with 14 people for nearly a week here, with a very wide range of ages. Having two houses and two kitchens, along with abundant outdoor seating, really helped minimize the bustle and stress which can accompany large gatherings. Our family was able to share mealtimes at either house but people were also easily able to find a quiet nook if they needed a break. Kitchens are very well stocked, beds are amazingly comfortable, and both houses were very clean. The kayaks and paddle boards are great to have on site, as is the fire pit. The only caveat I’d add is that the harbor can get very busy on a nice summer weekend with both boats and people, and the spit at the end of the property can get busy in the afternoons. This didn’t impact our enjoyment of the rental, but if you’re seeking to truly get away from it all, take this into account.
The property was a great fit for us and we’d definitely rent again if/when we next decide to gather in western WA.
