A castle!! Amazing views and the history
Air conditioning was awful. Was barely cool in the rooms.

Giuseppe was so friendly, accommodating and attentive during our stay. The Castello was amazing and the food was super yummy.

Unique property in an old castle. Breathtaking views of surrounding valley and mountains. Would definitely go back to Castello di Altomonte.

A lovely historic part of an 11th century castle…..but warm and comfortable. The position in the old citadel town of Altomonte and the views are stunning. The hotel staff are welcoming, and if you are driving there is safe parking.
Nothing.

Location was at the top of the village in the old town. Views are amazing. Although small language barrier the gentleman on reception was very helpful. Showed us around the amazing old building. Would stay here again.
Wi-Fi a little slow but you’re here for the experience of the town not to look at screens.

Beautiful old castle (but better from a distance!) In it's heyday it must have been incredible but sadly, those days are long gone. The place was practically deserted - maybe 2 other people staying, on a Friday in high season. Amazing views from our balcony and the bedroom was huge. A good (if somewhat lonely) breakfast. A great icecream shop in the main piazza, which is beautiful with breathtaking views.
The shower head wouldn't stay in place, you needed 3 hands to have a shower. The shower door was broken. The jets didn't work. Bed was very uncomfortable. Old noisy aircon. JThe very old chap in reception didn't speak a word of English, so info about wifi, breakfast timings etc was difficult. We wanted to eat in the restaurant but the very minimal menu looked unappetising. I feel sorry about it all - the whole village is dying as more people leave and no one replaces them. The top rated pizza restaurant has closed down so we ended up at a very mediocre one down on the main road. Such a shame to see a beautiful village and it's castle fall into disrepair.

Giuseppe did everything possible to make our family stay a great experience.. The food, dinning and service were very good.
The beds were comfortable compared to some others in Italy. We enjoyed staying in a historic castle of this area. We could not ask for a better host to make our stay memorable .
There was a hot spell at this time of year and the shared two bedroom family apartment AC provided little relief from the heat. It may not be possible, but ceiling fans, could help move the evening air to cool things off We loved everything else on our stay! They were very gracious hosts!

Service was excellent and welcoming, the room was spacious and comfortable with expansive views, dinner was superb, complete with local wine, olives, and pasta. the location is at the top of the old town with parking in the piazza in front of the castle.

The host / owner here was super welcoming making us feel right at home as the only guests in what really was a castle !

Incredible situation. Very clean and comfortable room - ours had a terrace and a balcony with incredible views. Good breakfast. Good, friendly service.
Nothing to dislike.

Castle was a unique stay and the view of the hills was lovely!
Shower was a little run down, there was no iron in the room. I would expect more from a hotel marketing themselves as 5 star. Definitely not 5-star but for the price it was fine for one night to enjoy the beautiful historic town.

Unbelievable location. Beautifully restored castle, absolute joy to stay and restaurant was superb.
Must stay if in area.
Beautiful location and lovely rooms with incredible history.
