We have stayed at the hotel regularly over the years and we was worried after reading the reviews on here BUT the room we stayed in was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff as always are very helpful. It's a cheap hotel and it's good value for what it is! It was very quiet in the hotel too. We will definitely be using the greyhound on our next visit.
It has gotten run down over the years but what are you expecting for the price! It's over £100 cheaper than other hotels in the area ! If your looking for a good quality hotel this isn't it but if your looking for a comfortable cheap hotel this is perfect.
The pub is closed and no breakfast ect but we didn't have a problem with that.

It was cheap
The fact that its absolutely full of families that live there and there kids run riot around the place I.e running in and out of each others rooms till all hours slamming doors riding scooters up and down the landing at 8am on a Saturday morning

Ok for one night..room was fine with clean linen and towels ..
The place was rundown and in need a a lot of upgrading...
Breakfast was cereals and toast ...nit what one would expect when paying for B&B..

Property is so dated, and not very clean at all. At the reception there was dirty plates piled up. (Still there in the morning when left)
The bedroom wasn’t not clean. The curtains where all ripped. Thankfully I brought sliders with my, as you definitely would not want to walk on the carpet in the room barefoot. Just overall not nice.
2.5
Absolutely nothing. Checked out after 10 minutes. This “hotel” should be removed from your site. Being used by council to house homeless. Bar closed, restaurant closed, swimming pool and gym closed.
Everything. It is a filthy doss house.
2.5
Smell so bad
Not look like hotel at all

good room, good bed, no wifi, no pool, no bar, no restaurant. did not recipricate the online site facitlies.
no wifi as promised online, no bar as promised , no restaurant as promised, no spa as promised online, no pool as promised online.

The bed was comfortable and the linen clean
The overall look of the place was run down, in definite need of refurb.
The pub which appeared to be a part of the complex was closed and boarded up.
There were no soap dispensers in the bathroom - just a plastic beaker half full
of liquid soap - this for two people !
We were told that most of the rooms had been sublet to the local authority.
In fact ,while we were there, there was actually a delivery of food packages for those being housed by the council.
Whilst, for us paying guests, there was no food even available to purchase.

only one coat hanger.
£6 for continental breakfast. when l stayed here before in 2022 it was a cooked breakfast sausage/bacon etc
no milk or hot water in breakfast room. could not have a cup of coffee or cereal and NO STAFF AROUND to ask
I stayed here in September last year and lifts not working. 9 months later LIFTS STILL NOT WORKING
There were workmen in the corridor doing work and there were cables and rubbish all around

Hotel with no other facilities that was advertised like bar restaurant and pool
The hotel dated no other facilities that’s was advertised ie bar pool restaurants
2.5
Nothing.
Bar and pool permanently closed. I big need of a clean, or massive upgrade. We have been since informed it is being used to shelter refugees and homeless people. I feel cheated as i was looking forward to a nice night away.
2.5
free parking and warm
it’s filthy, the bedding is old, the walls have faeces on, there is bodily fluid present on the carpet, we found a unexplainable blue pill on the floor, the door doesn’t lock properly on the room and basically the only people that are fit for this hotel would be prisoners
2.5
The location
When I booked it said the Greyhound did paid breakfast and food.
When I got there it was closed till further notice, I was informed rather to late that the property has been taken over and they have decided to close the pub and other amenities till they decide what they wanted to do with them.
I was then informed that the hotel part was actually housing homeless people.
Whenever I went back after work there was no correspondence from the staff on the desk at all after thr 1st night
2.5
nothing . it’s a hotel for homeless families that the council pays for. my friends stayed in the same place they had to be moved and then only paid £45 I paid £89 . room smelt of cigarettes . awful.

Staff were helpful at the front desk. Bed was comfortable.
There was no hairdryer or toiletries in the room. (including soap!)
The bath took 40 minutes to run due to poor water pressure. Breakfast was very basic continental. The pub was shut so no food or drink was available in the evening. The room was tatty with marks and stains.
2.5
clean bedroom.
looked tired and had tape over floor to stop carpet raising in numerous places.
No heating at night so arriving after working a shift at 7pm my room was cold as it was cold outside too. so couldn’t warm up properly. had to sleep with more clothes than normal and socks.
2.5
Nothing
No food, no bar just a poorly maintained hotel on the verge of closure

Very nice staff.good location
No bin in the room

amazing location, near Pennington flash and other hotspots.
24 hour reception, the staff were really nice.
Bed was comfy and a good size.
the view of the field we had from the room.
The bath was stained, not a big issue as we were only there for the night.
there was renovation work being done meaning we couldn’t have breakfast. This was not a big issue due to the location.
The hot water in the bathroom sink was far too hot and would burst out. We put this down to the renovation work being done.
We were not informed prior to our stay that the renovation work was being done. It did not affect
our sleep but it would’ve been nice to have the heads up that this was happening.
2.5
Nothing.
Terrible place. Checked out within 5 minutes of arriving and demanded a full refund
2.5
Very understanding with a booking error and was happy with the service

the lad on the desk was fantastic couldn’t do enough to help us but problems were beyond his control
very dated, tele never worked, homeless people living at the hotel making lots of noise slamming doors, in and out of each others rooms kept us awake until 5a.m, we had a free room upgrade (executive suite from standard double) when we arrived they’d swapped us back to a standard room as someone had phoned from the council and requested the bigger room but the homeless person never turned up so they reluctantly swapped us into the suite. we stayed at this hotel before lockdown with the kids and enjoyed the pool etc it’s now like a different hotel all together full of drunk abusive homeless people.
2.5
Dog friendly, wi-fi, free parking
Bar and restaurant closed. One member of reception staff couldn't answer basic questions including "where can I buy something to eat locally?'
2.5
Radiator didnt work in my room and it was 0 degrees, had to ask for another duvet, and in the morning borrow a heater to warm the room up enough to be able to have a shower.
Was on the road side of the hotel but could hear all the traffic, was no drinks machine so unable to get a cold drink in the eve or morning so had to leave the hotel to get a drink.
Also the fire alarm went off at 6.30 am then just went off after i got up to get dressed. The room i had was very old and dated.

absolute hell! in ever way … I’ve tried to get my money back the hotel haven’t even responded. the staff didn’t care when I was there
dirty, smells of urine, uncomfortable, no food/drink available at all! no friendly staff, con webs in every corner, my sons asthma got bad, I had my my 6 month old baby n pram n no lifts available, mattress about 80 years old n folded when pushed springs have hurt my back, crispy towels, stains everywhere bathroom stank of urine, draft in window from cracks, pub part shut down, pool run down n out of use. staff told me on arrival that they do t take cash or contactless so I’d of been stranded if I hadn’t have been able to send my partners bank money n use his card. I’ve cried so much I just want my money back. my 3 children should never have been forced to stay there but I had no choice I’d traveled far … the hotel are ignoring my emails

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so comfortable. The host Andrew was so laid back and welcoming. We'll definitely go back. I recommend the cottage pie.
Beautiful setting with a great walk for the dog. Bring your own beer

Nothing
This booking is misrepresented. If we had known the pub was closed and the condition of the rooms we would never have booked it. It is totally run down and should be closed. Not fit for anyone to stay in.
We are looking for a refund as we never slept a wink .
We complained to the manager on site but to no avail.
I will have to consider seriously about using booking .com again if this is the calibre of you accommodation.

absolutely nothing
was told on arrival that they had just been taken over and they have closed the pub adjacent to the hotel and closed the restaurant and swimming pool, and was told the hotel is the only thing open but no facilities will be offered when I asked where do we eat I was told there is a Bp garage over the road, the guys at reception did not have any idea it was happening, I felt sorry for them do not book there if it was £1 a night I would rather sleep in my van
