About this house rental
Charming mother-in-law cottage in the historic Whiteaker neighborhood. Nestled in a lovely private flower garden, the Cottage provides a serene retreat and is centrally located among the best restaurants, breweries and wineries in Eugene.
The house is set back from an eclectic urban neighborhood and the space can be surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of this active area of Eugene. At times, you may hear music and or neighborhood festivities. My goal is to make your visit to Eugene an enjoyable one, providing you with a restful, serene and secure home away from home.
Tall ceilings and windows in every room fill this 450 sq foot charming cottage with light and a sense of spaciousness. The bedroom features a mahogany queen size sleigh bed with a pillow top mattress, luxury linens and a down comforter. The view from the bedroom looks out onto the flower garden and private fenced yard.
There is a living area with seating for two, suede ottoman-bench, sofa chair, and a HDTV with established Amazon Prime, Netflix and Acorn accounts for streaming TV and movies. Additionally there is a HDMI cord for guests to stream movies or shows from a laptop. Relax and unwind in this quaint setting that includes a writer's desk and a fully-stocked kitchen. Everything you need to create a gourmet meal can be found in the kitchen.
Garden settings and nooks surround the cottage provide a tranquil and beautiful outdoor space to enjoy. There is a Craftsman rental home on the property, and there is substantial privacy between the home and cottage. If you are looking to host family or friends for a special event or holiday, both the house and cottage may be rented together.
The house and cottage are located behind a tall fence with mature trees and vegetation, creating a sense of privacy from an active neighborhood. The cottage is located behind the main property. Walking around the right of the main house, you'll arrive at the cottage.
The property is centrally located in the heart of the historic Whiteaker neighborhood, providing easy access to the best restaurants, breweries, wineries and music venues. The thriving urban Whiteaker neighborhood is close to the Willamette River, UO, Autzen Stadium, 5th Street Market, and the restaurant district.
Named for Oregon's first Governor, the historic Whiteaker is considered Eugene's most eclectic neighborhood. Entrepreneurs have established popular venues in this neighborhood to share their culinary, musical, brewing and wine making talents. Most recently, the Whiteaker has become identified as Eugene's brewery district. Several craft breweries, including Ninkasi, Hop Valley, Oakshire and Falling Sky are located within a few blocks of one another. Recently earning accolades from Esquire magazine as one of America's best bars, Sam Bond's Garage is an iconic night spot showcasing regional musicians on an almost-nightly basis. The Whiteaker neighborhood is best for folks who have a tolerance for human diversity, and do not mind occasional interactions with transients. The neighborhood is safe, but a touch more exhilarating than typical surburbia.
A mix of commercial and residential structures, enjoy the serenity of the cottage or walk in any direction from the cottage to enjoy this up and coming eccentric historic district of Eugene!
The gorgeous Willamette River is only a few blocks away and easily accessed by walking 10 minutes north of the cottage. Enjoy an evening stroll along the Willamette River or go for a run, bicycle ride or walk along this gorgeous river that runs through the town of Eugene.

Host was awesome, everything was super convenient for needing to be on ou's campus

The cottage was quite sufficient for our needs. Bed very comfy, kitchen fairly well equipped, clean. It was as described.
Regarding check-in, host texted very complete details. However, the cottage has no visible address and because of the irregularity of address numbers on the block, it was very difficult to make an assumption on the correct building. An employee of the owner did quickly return my call and clarify. Also host did respond quickly to additional questions.
We were encouraged to enjoy the fruits of the gardens on the property. Yummy strawberries.
I certainly recommend a stay at the cottage. It was just right for our needs.

They cottage was very close to my Aunt - 10 minute drive. Also close to Enterprise rental and auto shop. Car needed some care. The host was very responsive to any questions I had. I actually met the very kind host and she assisted me with quick responses. I did have some difficulty with heating. Otherwise the stay met my needs. Great bed, adequate kitchen and bathroom. Very clean.

Nice place. Well apportioned kitchen. No dishwasher.
Arrival at nighttime somewhat difficult. No address number could be seen . Bedroom comfortable. Ac/heat difficult to control. Heating did not work the first day. She did state she was going to call a help person. Eventually I had to do it myself

Cute, cozy little cottage. Perfect for two of us visiting our daughter at U of O. Close to campus & downtown.

Perfect for a couple. Walkable to Autzen Stadium (~2 mi). Cafes within walking distance. Very comfortable bed, and plush towels. Would stay again!

The place was very clean, well maintained and supplied. The booking process was easy and they communicated well with us. We would definitely stay here again! :)

Loved staying here for my Eugene vacation. The cottage is so cute and is walking distance to a lot of great restaurants/bars. The EmX bus connects you quickly to the rest of town. The garden was lovely to sit in each evening. Eve was quick to respond to messages and very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Very quaint cottage providing everything you might need, including complete kitchen utensils for those who prefer to eat in and everything you might need in the bathroom. Bring you toothbrush, paste and clothes the rest is there for you. Oh except food of course.

Nice little Cottage!

The location was very convenient for traveling around the state- we used it as a “home base” for visiting the coast and parks in the greater area.
The cottage had everything we needed and the bed was very comfy! We enjoyed the AC after long days of travel.

Friendly, met our expectations.

An absolutely charming little cottage. Yes, it's very much hidden, but the privacy added to the charm. Plenty of seating outside in a lush backyard. If you're looking for an affordable and cozy place to lay your head, this place is pretty spot on.

Communication with Eve was excellent and the check in process was seamless. This cottage is the perfect place for 2 people with a wonderful back garden to relax on sunny days.
Great location within walking distance to a market, coffee shop, restaurants , the beer garden and more. We will be back

Super cute and comfortable. As a single woman traveling.. I felt really safe and the area was nice and quiet. It looked like the photos and the host Eve was very quick to respond to me when emailed. The garden is beautiful.. I couldn’t enjoy it because of rain so maybe next time!

Very comfortable bed, perfect size accommodation for 1 or 2 people. Very cozy.

A cozy, charming cottage in the restaurant-rich area of Eugene with easy access to public transportation and the River Walk. Eve, the owner, is wonderfully attentive, and as the tenants at the adjacent property attest, her care of the establishment and generosity as an owner keeps people coming back. Highly recommended.

Awesome find during WC2022
Great little place to stay during the 2022 World Championships and easily bike to the event, to 5th St Public Market, the River and Whittaker shops and restaurants right around the corner! So glad this place was available and the process was made so easy by Eve. Will definitely look for this locale again :-)

Kind, fruitful and accommodating
Our stay at the craftsman cottage was great. But I really want to stay in the big house next time. The cottage was all we needed for this trip, as much time wasn’t spent in the space. Check in was smooth but I am glad I arrived before nightfall. The entrance is easy to miss at night. The welcome packet is informative. Thank you for the fresh strawberry.

Nice cheap little place near a lot of restaurants
The house met our needs fine.
Only issue for one of us who doesn't like a soft bed....

The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens that create a sense of peace and joy. I sat at the outdoor table repeatedly. The unit is delightfully decorated and full of light from huge windows and skylights. The place feels as if it were "away from it all" but in truth is within walking distance of shops and dining.

Cute Cottage
This cottage is 5 min. from our sons coffee shop, so the location for us couldn't have been more convenient. Thanks for providing such a comfortable space to come back to each night. We had a little trouble finding the front gate on very dark nights. Our one suggestion is to have better lights along the stone path leading you to the back cottage.

Go Ducks
A bit difficult to find in the dark we arrived around 9pm. Ince we located the property it was very comfortable.

I spent 5 weeks while looking for a home to buy...had chosen this place because of the charming garden photo, and was not disappointed. Something was blooming at all times, and the raised beds provided several dinner salads.
My only concern had been the proximity to the train tracks, as I am a very light sleeper but miraculously, I never heard the train whistle once I was asleep. The bed was extremely comfortable. All in all, the cottage helped me relax during a rather stressful time. I won't have to, but I would stay there again ;-)

Feels like home.
This house was instantly comfortable for our recent visit to Eugene. A perfect holiday retreat for my husband and I as we visited our two sons, who both attend U of O. The woodwork is warm and charming, the kitchen has everything needed to cook for a family, and the porch and yard are welcoming. Eve is easy to communicate with, and took care of everything quickly and easily. We will be back to stay again soon.

Great central location
We walked or biked everywhere when we stayed - stores, restaurants, the river trail, downtown. Great little cottage.

A sweet little cottage for two
We truly enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage. Loved the seclusion of the cottage and garden space. The Whitaker Neighborhood is a hopping place. We could walk to stores, brew pubs and eateries. Eve was wonderful to work and attentive to our every need.
We shall return.

As advertised, a neat little place tucked away in the heart of the Whiteaker neighborhood. Nicely furnished and accommodated.
