Great location, slightly shy away from the main street of Jonker. The room was more than what I would have asked for given it was a old building converted into of hotel. The room was aesthetically pleasing and clean. Helpful staffs and the ground floor of the hotel has a nice touch for those who enjoy picturesque moments. The backdoor that leads to the river walk was a perk. Little bonus for me, a diagonally opposite massage parlor was a wonderful ending to rub away all the soreness from walking.
If the breakfast time could be extend for another 30 minutes to an hour, given that their mini breakfast selection ends at 10am

I liked that the elements of the original design of the old Peranakan house were well preserved. The hotel is conveniently located in Chinatown, with access from the street and the Riverwalk. The room was comfortable, with a lot of space and a great bathroom. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Unfortunately, the swimming pool was no longer operational. Also, we don't understand why hand towels are not provided, only bath towels. In the room, additional hooks can make hanging clothes easy and comfortable.

Beautiful interiors in common spaces, it’s a traditional Chinese house. Spacious room and bathroom. There is a small breakfast included in the price, it includes a hot dish (eggs or pancakes). The hotel is located right by the river, you can exit to the riverwalk from the back door and enjoy walking there. It’s close to all main sights. Late check in (close to midnight) wasn’t a problem.
Didn’t return the 50 rm cash deposit to me, probably the receptionist just forgot to hand over the money, later the hotel denied everything. They charge the tourism tax separately, I wanted to pay by card and the receptionist said that he needs to manually input my card details into the system, even though the payment was through a terminal - this was so strange. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. Walls are very thin and I could hear what my neighbours were saying (even though they were not shouting). I booked a room with no window (I knew it) and it wasn't as bad as I expected, maybe because I was outside throughout the day anyway.

Le personnel etait tres gentil. Bonne surprise, le petit dejeuner est gratuit. Bon emplacement
Mauvaise insonorisation.

Sehr zentrale Lage & trotzdem sehr ruhig.

Nice staff. Good location. Nicely decorated in an authentic local style. Quiet room. Nice complimentary breakfasts with local flair on weekends.
A coat of paint would freshen up the room and bathroom but this is a really minor issue.

The location is perfect. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and showcases the culture of Malacca very well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was very nice.
Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed for repairs, but it can't be helped!

I liked the breakfasts. Very tasty and fresh ingredients. You can borrow a bicycle for free. Bicycles for all heights.
I would like to have 2 towels per person. The bed linen was clean but not new. There were stains on the sheet.

I’ve just finished a three month trip around SE Asia, Malaysia and Singapore utilizing 20 hotels. Of those 20, Aava Malacca was one of the two best hotels I stayed in!
The hotel is a bit outside the main tourist area, which definitely keeps it quieter. The property is beautiful, the staff very helpful, and the rooms are not only larger, but very comfortable. Excellent enclosed shower with immediate hot water and good pressure, and room to move in the bathroom.
One of the major perks is the mattress! I’ve had nothing but cheap, hard, uncomfortable mattresses everywhere, but Aava Malacca has invested in better, softer mattresses with an actual topper. I had some of the best rest here of my entire trip!
There’s also a made to order breakfast included, not a major breakfast, but plenty to start the day. The hotel itself is a rehabilitated historic building, so beautiful surroundings as well. You’re just a block from major sights and good restaurants and a short walk to Dutch Square.
I really enjoyed my stay here, would stay again and highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay!
It’s not a complaint, only info. I last minute moved to Aava Malacca a day early, so ended up in. King Suite facing the road. It’s a beautiful and spacious room, but there is more road noise. I then moved to an inside king with no window, which was quieter. If you sleep deeply, it won’t matter, but if you are a light sleeper like me, I’d go for the inside room with no window.

The building and the interior decorations were very beautiful and authentic. Location was great, very close to the night market and with access to the river bank. Large room and comfortable bed.
Rooms are a bit dated, there is a general old building, musty smell in the rooms and there was not much natural light as our windows overlooked an interior corridor/courtyard.

Air conditioning was excellent and lots of powerpoints in room.
Food not tasty except for the small packet beehoon. Also tv reception was poor. Once turn off tv, knocking sounds throughout night coming from somewhere didn’t make for restful sleep. Otherwise, comfortable and clean room. Housekeeping does a good job.

This is my 2nd visit to the hotel. All remained satisfied.
If could reopen swimming pool, or make it use for bigger sharing area...that will be superb

Beautiful hotel in a great location, close to Jonker street and the bars near the river. Our room was spacious and quiet and had the most comfortable bed, it was like sleeping on a cloud :) Very friendly and helpful staff as well as very good housekeeping every day. Loved the breakfast as well, simple but very good!

Very clean, comfy (huge bed & vacuumed carpet), spacious & exquisite with antiques & heritage, all you need including two pass cards, mini fridge, safety box & wardrobe, with complementary breakfast of nasi lemak, toasts, choice of eggs, beans, cereals, etc, and has a handy backdoor to the canal (walkable to Kampung Jawa & Hard Rock Cafe), short walk to Jonkers Walk & nearby Makan Avenue with the famous Cendol Kampung Hulu - Uncle Tan & the rest of the crew in the breakfast area were very helpful, friendly & accommodating.
We might stay here again due to its cleanliness, comfort, space, location & Uncle Tan!
Expensive nearby parking of RM25 overnight (3pm till 12noon the next day), staircase to upper floor (Uncle Tan kindly helped us with our luggage), and worst of all, the one staff serving at the checkin desk, was like a discipline teacher (in need of customer service training), she was not welcoming at all, however, Uncle Tan & the rest of the crew in the breakfast area compensate.

The location is great and the scenery river is just a step from the backdoor. The room is spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Simple breakfast is provided. Limited parking is on first come, first served. No worry, public carpark is available at your own cost. This hotel was just beyond expectation, a choice that you won't regret.
