Great location near the beach and great breakfast
4.1
Breakfast was amazing and bedroom was very clean and tidy.
Front door kept getting stuck, so you could hear people at midnight trying to get in. My husband had to go down and let some in, as they kept banging on door.

I upgraded to a sea view but was put up in a attic to see the sea you had to stand up and peer out of a side window 38 pound extra no heating was freezing l am 72 my wife is 62 what a joke I had to go to the office to ask for heating to be turned on 7_45 pm heating in room not working needs bleeding towel rail in bathing was good had to leave door open to let warm air in a disgrace would like a refund back
Attic room no heating food not up to standard poached egg water on plate toast swimming with water 1 out of 10 staff never once asked if everything was ok we have stayed in hotels in aber for over 20 years never once have we complained we paid 38 pound to have a upgrade to a double room WITH A SEA VIEW which was advertised we have never been treated like this before they took our money and did not care about us at all we had no sea view which we paid for they should give our 38 pound back and apologise the staff are nice the man wants to go to charm school
4.1
Nice modern rooms, very clean and tidy, easy booking in and checking out system.
Fantastic cooked breakfast, good quality food (meat)
4.1
Comfy bed, very peaceful sleep
Breakfast down in basement, poor ventilation in breakfast room so the smell of fried food sticks on your hair & clothes.
Shared toilet.
4.1
Seeing and listening to the sea from our window :)
4.1
Near town
Not en suite
4.1
Clean enough and decent location
No one present throughout but a number if needed. Separate toilet shared with others, didn't see a sign for a shower on the floor all signs are in Welsh. p.s. chocolate bar was a nice touch but not when it has been left in the sun.
UPDATE 22/7/2023
On response to the condescending reply to my valid and true review, Firstly, I was being very fair in my review, especially given Data protection breaches leaving people's names/numbers/address (although struck out with blank pen is still readable).
The weather on the day I arrived was very sunny so I am not sure why you feel the need to correct me on this? Very convenient you appreciate the positive comments but attemp to belittle constructive criticism?
I could have gone further and said the room was pokey and although you have made attempts to update with bits of IKEA furniture, painting over the Anaglypta Wallpaper and outdated toilet did not impress.
You did not catch me on a 'bad day', something you have assumed because I left a fair and true review of your offering. I had infact had a lovely few days and left positive reviews of my previous stays at other properties in Rhyl and Pwllheli before I came to yours, and, while I enjoyed Aberystwyth itself, your tiny, dated and GDPR breaching property was not for me which is why I couldn't be bothered to stick around for the breakfast. If a customer states that signs for shared shower room were not clear (1 shower for how many people/rooms?), then you should maybe take that on board and not just defensively put it back on the guest!
Others appear to be happy with your offering but I was simply leaving feedback though its always saddening when someone feels the need to turn things back on the guest which says a lot about your customer service, maybe accept constructive criticism as much as praise and not put it back on a guest having a 'bad day', you may get even more better reviews. All the best!

The staff were lovely and the breakfast was amazing.

Perfect location by the coast. Lovely breakfast and comfy bed, although bed felt slightly small.
My own fault but booked a while in advance and didn't realise until we arrived we didn't have an ensuite and the shower was downstairs so will definitely book ensuite next time :)
4.1
Lovely staff. Great breakfast. Beds were super comfy!
4.1
The breakfast was good. The bedroom was small but clean.
There was no hot water either in the afternoon/ evening or morning so unable to have a shower. The heating did not come on the whole time so the room was cold. The table cloths being dirty made the breakfast experience disappointing.

convenient location. nice and cosy

Great, calm location by the sea front and an easy walk into the town. Owner is very communicative and welcoming. Great breakfast and the newly refurbished rooms are lovely.
Our shower wasn’t working properly but the owner told us they were about to get a new shower in - then it will be perfect.
4.1
Very close to the beach, and parking spaces everywhere around the hotel. The sleep was very good and comfortable. No interaction with any staff, quick easy sign-in and sign-out. Very clean and close to pubs and clubs near by.
Not much not to like, the bathroom was a bit outdated, and so was the TV. Did not get any housekeeping but we were only there for a short time.
4.1
Great location, a very nice and quick breakfast, staff were friendly and polite, room was clean and tidy.
Issues with plumbing, shower had no pressure but was going to be fixed in a few days time.
4.1
location quite good
cold, no heating, therefore damp towels don’t dry , needed an extra covering for colder nights, tired decor in process of renovating

I recently stayed at GwesTY Guest House in Aberystwyth and I was very pleased with my experience. The room was clean and comfortable (one of the cosiest bed I’ve ever slept). It has all necessities for comfortable staying. The location is great too, just a few minutes walk from the sea.
The only downside was that the breakfast was cancelled due to problems in the kitchen, but we were notified in advance so it wasn't a problem.

Good location and that's about it.
This guest house strangely also called Glyn-Garth had good reviews on Booking.com/trip advisor, so we booked a one-night stay as it was a birthday surprise. Before we arrived, we received a text message telling us that due to staff illness no one would be there to check us in and informing us what to do, however, on arrival there was a man on reception. The 70s patterned carpet was the first thing we observed that gave us a hint as to what was to come next. I have never, in all my years of staying in hotels, seen such an outdated and old-fashioned room. The bathroom had no sink, sink was in bedroom (never seen that before and not hygienic re washing hands after using toilet). The wash basin had an almost empty Carex soap dispenser. The shower looked like it came from the ark. The decor was dated and old. The bedding looked clean but by this time we knew we would not be sleeping in it. The cups and saucers on the tea tray looked as old as the decor. We turned around before touching anything and left the key on the counter and very politely, informed the man on reception we would not be staying. We then informed booking.com whom we booked through, and they said they would ask this hotel to refund us. Hotel refused to do so and sent us a message informing us of such and left a totally unnecessary comment of 'your loss' at the end of that message. Charming and showing a complete lack of concern.
