About this house rental
Set in the idyllic, unrivalled position directly above the breath-taking and famous Trevaunance Cove is Above the Beach; this lovely house is perfectly located for family getaways, surfing breaks or celebratory stays with friends. This property is just a stone’s throw from the beach, with direct access as well as being within easy reach of the South West Coast Path.

Meanwhile, the fitted kitchen has everything you need to whip up a family meal, including oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A lovely wooden table will easily seat everyone with seating for six; while the two additional stools are ideal for watching the waves as you sip a glass of prosecco.

Fantastic location lovely property just needs a little tlc

Disappointed
This property relies on its location to sell. Cleaning was poor lots of pet hair on floors furniture and cushions. Poorly maintained. Broken doors and plinths to kitchen cupboards. Dirty microwave. Safety rail on bunk beds falling off. Damp smell in kids room, dog smell in master bedroom. Broken window hinges almost falling off when opened, sliding door none functional as some examples. One electrical socket did not work, one had burn marks on the outlets. The agent did respond but was not a good start to the holiday. Made the property very expensive for the level of care.

Location amazing
The location is the reason to book this cottage - amazing. The cottage itself needs some updating, but I imagine it’s always booked!

Above the beach
Lovely property, fantastic location . We would visit again. The views are amazing and the children loved the bridge to the garden. We did feel it needs a little TLC : Sliding balcony door unable to lock, windows difficult to open, shower sliding door needs attention, key safe rusty may need replacing . Overall though I would highly recommend.

Stunning beachside location
We enjoyed our holiday in Above the Beach, it’s location is outstanding next to the beautiful cove and the coastal path. St Agnes is a lovely village with excellent shops and pubs. Recommended.

Needs some TLC
Location is fab. However Upon arrival the waste bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied and was full of the previous occupants items
- The general standard of cleanliness was poor e.g. heater controls we dusty and greasy and hadn't been cleaned for some time.
- Storage heaters are not a good option for a holiday home. Instant heat for short periods would be appropriate.
- Kitchen cupboard doors do not shut properly and kick boards are not fitted correctly. - The kitchen cupboard doors are also in poor condition and the laminate is coming off.
- Crockery chipped in many places
- The cutlery was a random mixture and there were no sharp knives or scissors.
- The furniture is stained and the carpet has holes in.
- The shower door does not close properly as the seal is coming off and not fitted properly.
- The radiator in the bathroom is not attached to the wall correctly with only 2 brackets being screwed on.
- The patio door to the balcony does not open.
- The patio area felt “abandoned” with items just laying around on the floor
- The toilet seats are not fitted correctly and do not line up with the bowl.
- The literature talks about buying logs ahead etc, which lead us to believe there was a log burner so we bought some logs / kindling etc but there was nowhere to burn them!
In essence, the property needs much TLC and in our opinion a complete overhaul. This was not cheap to rent and location should not be an excuse to scrimp on essential maintenance and the maintenance of the high standards expected and advertised.
It did not live up to our expectations of cleanliness, hygiene, standard of fittings and customer care we have come to expect.

wonderful location .
A super house in a great location but it completely lacks charm or character .
Happily it had a parking space, a necessity in St Agnes .

Great location, But...
This was an amazing location and was perfect for us with the children the age they are, they could have a little bit of independence whilst we could still keep an eye on them. Unfortunately the house itself was a real let down. The Oven didn't work, the hob was very old and difficult to control, the microwave had the wrong sized plate in it so was of limited use. The windows were filthy so you were looking through a murky haze down onto the beach. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and the mattresses in the bunk bed room were mouldy (and had clearly gone mouldy in a different location to the bunk bed as could be seen by the mould pattern). Only one small bathroom was available with a very small sink (outside shower is useful but cold) which was quite tricky with a family of 5 after a day on the beach.

Stunning View with basic furnishings
Best view of Treuvanance cove, 1 minute walk from the beach and schooners bar. some noise from bar in evening and fishermen in mornings. upside down house so living room at top with great views. parking off road a little tricky but managed it in a Volvo XC90. a few things needed maintenance but they were fixed within 24 hours so v impressed there.
would recomend for view and convenience alone.

Fabulous holiday home - but .........
We have stayed at Above the Beach previously. Location of the property is excellent if you are looking for a beach holiday. Unfortunately on this occasion the state of the house - cleanliness and condition was well below the standard expected, particularly with Covid precautions being paramount. Cornwall Hideaways attended promptly to some of the issues we raised, but in our opinion the property should not have been handed over in the condition we found it in. Hirers of holiday properties should not be acting as quality controllers for future guests, in our opinion this is the job of holiday letting companies. We just hope that all the issues we raised were corrected before the next guests arrived, as this is a fabulous holiday home. Despite the niggles we had a great week at Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes.

Above the Beach
We have stayed hear ,many times and love it. We have always brought our daughter son-in-law and grandchildren but this was the last time as they can’t come out of school time
They have booked with you for next May half term but sadly we will no longer be with them. We avoid school holidays

Amazing views, wonderful location
We have frequently stayed in St Agnes and have always loved Trevanance Bay. We spotted this property during our last visit and are glad we booked it. The views across the bay are stunning. The property is quite simply decorated but is clean and functional. It is well appointed and the garden is cleverly set out for sheltered and sunny lunches. For surfers there’s a hot water exterior shower. Driving in and out of the property is quite right if 2 cars are on the drive - but that’s just the price of being where you are.
