Honestly, this place is excellent. The staff, the rooms, the food in the restaurant. Perfection. We stayed because we were taking an early morning ferry and it was tempting to stay another night and get a later ferry.
House doubles in the bar would have been nice. When your wife likes to drink double G&Ts drinking in the bar isn't an option unless you're a lottery winner.

Dirty and shabby room, black mould. Horrid.

The staff were all excellent, Anna on the front desk was very personable and went out of her way to be helpful. The grounds are stunning and the building is exceptionally decorated and furnished. The cocktails are worthy of their price tag.
The mattress wasn't the most comfortable, they're going through a refurb so the images on the website don't quite match the rooms so expectations were all little off but the rooms were nice nonetheless and still met expectations for the price paid.

Location fine. Breakfast good.
It was fine.

Lokatie was prachtig, van binnen stijlvol en nette kamers.
Openingstijden ontbijt: kon door de weeks niet voor 7.30u en alleen a la carte (dus langere wachttijden) wat erg laat is voor de zakelijke reiziger.

The hotel is a vintage, but neatly restored Victorian mansion in a nice landscape,
Rooms are large and comfortable, the restaurant is outstanding (we did not use the restaurant pods), parking is private.
The hotel is not located in walking-distance of the centre of the village.

The overall seating was beautiful
The standard of the rooms was poor and very aged and dog eared

The property is beautiful. The room was huge with nice views, bed was comfortable. Bar was excellent. Dinner menu was outstanding and the food did not disappoint. Breakfast was similarly good. All the staff were outstanding; very helpful and polite.
Parking can be challenging when the hotel is busy.

The people were lovely there, especially when I moved my check in time 2 hours earlier. It was also such a beautiful building and room, it felt like a fairytale... We only had lunch there which was very tasty and ordered food to the reception from outside which we went and collected. All in all, it was very accommodating and the soaps smelt wonderufl.
The fire alarm did go off at about half 7 in the morning but there was nothing to worry about.

It’s a beautiful location, with the benefit of local shops and food places near by, breakfast was beautiful and I couldn’t fault the staff! 10/10
No complaints

From arriving to leaving I enjoyed my stay at The Mansion
I was in the basement studio room and with it being so big it took a while to warm up

The character and surroundings
It’s a shame some of the older character in the property has been modernised

Great location for a night before a cruise. Unique property and grounds. We enjoyed a good meal in a dining pod. Reasonable prices & tasty food.

The staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly, polite, efficient. The food was superb - I had dinner, breakfast and attended a lunchtime event. Service was 5*. The grounds are lovely - the outdoor "pods" for dining/sitting/drinking are brilliant.
My accommodation was a bit of a surprise insofar as it's a self contained flat. It could do with updating but it was clean and comfortable, plenty of hot water and very spacious.

Breakfast was very hot and very well presented.
The room was very old and tired. Broken tiles on the bathroom floor.Caught my toes in the hole. Bed very creaky. Awful view out to a brick wall and overgrown grass. Bathroom had an odour. Bedroom blind was torn exposing the wooden batten. Window frames were so dirty. Mould around the bathroom tiles and in the shower.

It is a stunning mansion located on beautiful grounds, and rooms are very spacious, even the "budget" ones. The do many free events on property that open to guests.
The only thing I will say/stress is that this place is not for the mobility-challenged. There are lots, and I mean lots, of stairs. Also, the only rooms with AC are the suites, so none of the other accommodations have AC or fans.

The grounds are beautiful
It’s only a 3* and the basement apartment is down some steps

Had to book here in an emergency due to leaving another accommodation which was no acceptable to stay in

Basement room 001 was huge. A nice kitchenette that had everything necessary. Large bathroom. I can’t find a fault. The grounds were lovely. Sat outside in the sun, very relaxing.
My only niggle was the tv. Spent ages trying to find normal live free view tv channels. Did not achieve it. Had to go through iplayers. Not everyone wants to watch films or kids cartoons.

Location.
Rooms starting to look tatty, bathrooms need updating, furniture dirty and marked. Restaurant advertised as open until 9pm arrived at 8:40 and told it was too late.

Lovely and clean. Staff were pleasant and our room was lovely.
The basement stairs down to our room could have done with a clean up.

The breakfast was great and the staff, very friendly. The room was clean and very good value for money. I arrived late, and the night Porter was extremely friendly and very helpful. This was the same man, I believe, who was so helpful over the phone too, when I rang in advance.
I don’t think there’s anything that I didn’t like. I would say though it would be really helpful to know in advance which rooms have a shower cubicle and which have an over-the-bath shower. This is particularly important for people with mobility issues or disability access issues. I think more rooms with showers, rather than baths, would be a good move.

Great facilities and location. Excellent staff.

The building and location are quite nice, tucked back from the main roads but conveniently located. Most of the staff are helpful and the restaurant is pretty good.
We booked one of the 'apartments' and were very disappointed with how run down it was. It was cold, cheaply finished and with a lot of cosmetic damage and very cheap, scrappy furniture.
We asked for extra blankets on our last evening as it was so cold but they never materialised.
The lounge area in the main building was unstaffed and there wasn't any firewood so also very cold.

The building itself is very impressive
My name was very tired and all the fixtures and fittings were pretty knackered. Hairs in the bed and just didn't really feel clen

The building
Very dissapointed...
Fantastic building and setting..
Stayed for 2 nights. I booked a 1 bed apartment which I thought was tiny until I found out I had been given a standard room. The young polite man at the desk tried his best to find me the room id booked, but to no avail. They did however offer to refund £30 pounds to my card.
Room was quite tired and in need of some work. No table or chair to work on so moved a bedside and sat on the sofa. Loud staff gatherings for ciggy breaks every 1/2 hour outside my window. Window wouldnt close fully so no way of getting away from it.
My biggest shock was No house keeping so I returned the next evening to no clean cups, no coffee or milk, bin still full of rubbish, bed not made etc. When Inasked about it I was told that "housekeeping" needed to be requested by me. I've never heard of this anywhere else I've stayed and I stay in hotels every week.. even if it is there policy it would have been good to have been told on arrival. Shortage of staff whenever I needed one. I was made to feel like I was disturbing them or being an annoyance if I requested anything.. a simple glass of ice was a major issue.
An overall shame as the venue has such potential..

Stunning building. Great location. Friendly staff. Excellent value.
Room a little tired in places but for the money it was fine. Also it was very cold but we were in a cold snap so that can be forgiven!

Lovely location stayed for a party, food was excellent
The basement room we had, had no facilities to hang up our clothes. Although a big room was lucky we were only staying for one night .

Property was very nice, room was clean but OK other than a very queaky bed. Evening and breakfast food was absolutely fantastic and staff were very professional and polite.
Bed had seen better days

Well priced, clean, friendly helpful service staff and a lovely breakfast so good we stayed another night later in the week. Oh and four deer came and grazed the lawn whilst we ate breakfast!

Its a beautiful property in a beautiful setting

The room was cheaply priced, but very comfortable and the heating in the room was excellent for the time of year. The grounds and mansion are lovely, and the staff were very nice and hospitable. The communal areas (bar/lounge/restaurant etc) were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a decent size and very tasty.
The floor was a little wet in the kitchen area with what was obviously an ongoing water leak/problem as the laminate floor was distorted and curling at the edges in several areas.

Gorgeous building , lovely staff , lovely room , great food

Was near to home as only staying away for one night as a surprise for my partners birthday. The mansion is beautiful and there was a wedding on which didn’t hamper our stay at all. In fact we were moved to an apartment further away so we weren’t disturbed.
The only issue I felt was the decor and furniture in our room didn’t match up with the feel and style of the mansion. It was very dated, old, and not well laid out. That surprised me when we got to the room after seeing how beautifully decorated it was in the lounge and restaurant. Food for breakfast was amazing, huge choice and reasonably priced.
