About this cottage rental
Loon Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps maximum of 4 adults and two children.
Charming cottage in Adirondack style. Large porch and outside seating for 6.
The Mystery
Do you remember Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys? What better way for your family to spend a unique and memorable Adirondack vacation than your children tucked into bed in a magic room of their own behind a hidden staircase. Where else would you want to spend a summer vacation when you were 10 years old??
The Setting
Amazing Adirondack Bungalow with great front porch, sitting atop a knoll just off route nine. Named after the Lake George State Island, Loon is located 1/2 mile south of exit 21, is in a quiet neighborhood. We are conveniently located midway between the Lake George Village strip and the Great Escape Park and the Outlets .
The cozy living room is decorated in Adirondack décor. Bright kitchen with wainscoting and table that seats 4. Outside table seats 6 with gas grill. Kitchen has all the amenities of home, full refrigerator, gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, air fryer and microwave.
Three bedrooms. The master is very large and bright with a Queen size bed, and the second bedroom has a double bed and dresser . The attic magic room has three twin beds for children age 4 to 16. Along with the cottage there is a private firepit and umbrellaed outdoor seating area for six for everyone to enjoy a cool adirondack evening.
The living room bookshelf rolls open to reveal a stairway leading to a large room (The magic room) which sleeps 3 (I would guess ages 6-14). It is the perfect place to have a memorable Adirondack vacation.
A unique feature
Also included with the cottage is an AC (some rooms), WIFI, streaming ready televisions and propane grill.
Hiking/biking Enthusiasts
One of the best amenities is that this cottage is located across the street from the Lake George Bike/hike trail. Head north for a fifteen minute ride to take a dip in Million Dollar Beach (all down hill to the lake, so a bid of a harder pedal home!) or head south to the historic "Feeder Canal.” Start the day with a hike along the same path.
Dino Roar Valley is right across the street and perfect for younger kids, and the Eagle Flyer zip line is nearby. Walk to the old time saloon for delicious barbecue. Ten minutes from the Great escape
Two miles south LG village and 2 miles north of the outlets. A perfect blending of two worlds five minutes in either direction!!
You can arrive any time after three. I will connect with you at some point. Feel free to unload and unpack and make yourself at home. Checkout is 11am. Please keep our cottage tidy and wash your dishes before checking out.

We unfortunately did not get to spend much time at this house, but it was a great spot to come back to after activities in the area. Plenty of room for our group, and the hidden loft was a hit with the kids.

The property is dated but it was clean and comfortable. Good location south of the village of Lake George.

This was the first time my family (two adults, two teens) visited Lake George and we had a great time. This cottage is located a few minutes away from the Village, but along Route 9 where you can find everything, so we liked that a lot. The photos listed are pretty much what you will find, however we were a little disappointed that the upstairs is really more of an unfinished attic. (The walls are not fully painted and the stairway to get up there is narrow.) Anyone who sleeps up there has to worry about hitting their head in the morning! That being said, it was a good stay and we enjoyed the various knick-knacks around the house. The kitchen is not large but it does the job for breakfasts, which is all we ever used it for. Some small additions would have made this place better for us:
- A Kettle
- Softer pillows
- A new shower curtain (or better yet - install a shower door)
- a full-length mirror (we were traveling with a teenage girl who really missed this!)
- alarm clocks or other clocks in the bedrooms
These are small things! I know the owners did everything to make us comfortable, even providing some bug spray on the porch, board games to play, and a small amount of coffee in the freezer. I'd recommend it to small families.

Our family of 3, along with our best friends..family of 3 couldn't have enjoyed our stay more! The Loon cottage is exactly as pictured and even more charming in person. It was the perfect setting for our relaxing getaway with all the amenities you need!!
Our teen boys were over the moon about the magic room!! The Loon brought us all together with great family games, puzzles, cooking and cards on the porch late into the nights!!
Small power outage for an hour or so one early morning, Melanie quickly responded and kept us up to date on restoration via power company!
Location is exactly as stated, close to Lake George Village and outlets!! Perfect! We will be back...thanks Pine family for taking such pride in your property!

We had such a great time we the property. Centrally located and clean. We will be booking for next year at this property, we had a blast.

The property served our family well! There were 7 of us overall (4 adults, 3 kids). Location was great as we were 2 minutes from Lake George Village or 5 minutes from the Walmart, Aldi, Etc. in Queensbury! We were also just 2 minutes from Six Flags. The location was away and quiet. The cabin itself was clean overall and stocked with the pots, pans, and things we needed for breakfast in the morning or to reheat leftovers from the resraraunt. Kids loved the hidden room! The only negatives was that the cottage could use some updates (not a big deal at all though), the shower was small and for someone like me who is 6'3" the showerhead was at like neck-level ( again not huge deal), and the landscaping needed done (weeds were high around firepit, neighboring house, and the stairs to the dumpster). Owners were very easy to comminicate with when needed. Will definitely return to Lake George at some point and will consider property again!

The cottage was cozy and well stocked. Melanie was very responsive to my questions before, during and after our stay! I highly recomend!

We had a great time in the lake George area and it’s surroundings. The stay at the cottage was ok, my kids loved the hidden stairs behind the bookcase. There was a weird smell in the kitchen but we didn’t cook at all in there anyways, just had coffee. If you’re on the bigger side like myself the shower enclosure is from the 1940s and was not very comfortable for me. Could use an update in the bathroom for sure. The cottage is up on a hill right next to Route 9 and can be loud for the person sleeping in the bedroom on that side of the cottage. Other than those things Melanie was great to deal with and response time was very fast on getting back to me with any questions, even when we lost power she gave me an update on when it would be back on.

Had a nice week here. A quick drive to Lake George Village and Bolton Landing, but still a quiet place to stay.

The property was perfect for our visit to family in the area. The grand children lived the magic room.

My children and family stayed at Loon Cottage. When we arrived, the cottage was very clean. I was impressed with the way the cottage was set up. It was so cozy and comfortable. My children loved the "hidden room". Infact, they want me to have the same setup in my attic. Lol. Everything was so close to the cottage. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this cottage for spending a relaxing vacation. I didn't get to meet Mrs. Pine, but I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Pine, and he was a very nice gentleman. All of my questions regarding the cottage were answered via email and promptly by Mrs. Pine. We had a fantastic experience and look forward to returning. Thank you.
