Great apartment stay

Convenient for Newark show ground & a good local pub. Beautiful, old building and stunning approach along driveway. Quiet & peaceful. Great apartment which was well equipped. Excellent value for money.

The bed was not very comfy, unfortunately, as it dipped in towards the middle.

Relaxing, quiet and comfortable.

The apartment was very roomy for 2 people. It had a rustic feel about it which I really liked. Lovely big bed, good sized kitchen and very quiet. Very much in the countryside but only 8 minute drive to Newark. Relaxing.

The kitchen was not particularly well equipped - only one cutting knife(not very sharp) - useless for cutting bread. Not enough cutlery - only 2 teaspoons!

Perfect apartment for either a night or two but also a longer stay.

Great apartment, comfortable and clean with nice big towels and a well stocked kitchen area. Very spacious, lovely surroundings, we will be back.

Definitely would stay again

The location was absolutely wonderful and so peaceful, no road noise or anything a great lovely place to stay if you are after that peaceful relaxation time away, the hosts are amazing too very polite and friendly

The place is lovely but could benefit from a fan or air conditioning as being out in the country side there's a lot of bugs flying around but apart from that I do not have one bad thing to say about the property

Spacious apartment set in quiet grounds on a farm close to Newark; friendly and helpful host.

The apartment is quite spacious with lots of light. The kitchen was well-appointed. The host who resides nearby provided timely advice well in advance of arrival about accessing the property and was very accommodating about any requests for assistance. Fresh flowers were in the apartment and fresh towels were provided during our one-week stay. Wifi was of a high quality.

Although a clothes rack was provided, there is adequate room for a proper wardrobe with hanging space and some drawers in the bedroom which would have allowed us to unpack for the week.

I will definitely re-book when back in the area, the apartment had everything I needed and more. staff were very helpful

great communication and direction to find the property, lovely grounds, plenty parking and very secure. The apartment was well furnished and very comfortable and cosy when cold outside.

Could do better needs updating to modern insulated standards.

Property is a little tired and the finish was not up to the standard expected within this price range. Concrete floors are good for keeping cool in summer but with no central heating it took two days to warm up using the two electric stand alone heaters.

Brilliant. The tiny niggles were way outshone by the location, facilities and surroundings.

Only a minimal supply of coffee pods (2) List of what is there and what is not would help? Heating was a challenge - two fan heaters took off the chill , but hopefully the CH will be in evidence during the winter? Met the owner - very pleasant conversation. It is known that ortho mattresses can take more than a week to get used to. I found it difficult to sleep for the first two nights - a sprung mattress might be a better solution?

Ideal stay

Ideal location for want we wanted (Newark showground) and a bit of tourism in Lincoln and Newark on Trent. Very quiet, beautiful setting, apartment was perfect in a lovely old building. Bed was very comfortable, and apartment was tastefully furnished. Even though it was very hot outside (34C), the apartment stayed lovely and cool . Parking was outside. Would love to know the story of the gorilla statue on the drive up and the red telephone booth in the gardens.

The soap bar could have been a bit bigger, it kept slipping out of our hands. Maybe a bath gel dispenser would be better.

The setting was fabulous, nicest surroundings I've ever seen in a place I've stayed. Incredibly quiet and peaceful.

Apartment was large and had a nice airy feel but could be amazing with totally updated decor in ALL rooms as had a bit of an outdated 90's vibe, glass coffee table nearly caused a few accidents!! Lethal.

found the back frosted window in the lounge a bit oppressive and on the first night there was a strange bright flashing light in the grounds at the back of the property which was somewhat disturbing but fortunately didn’t continue after that night.

close to the showground

the property was exceptionally clean and had fantastic beds. if travelling to the Newark showground it is easily within reach.

the property is tired looking with some money needing spent of carpets and fittings in both the communal areas and in the flat itself . it is a bit of a conundrum that the property is quite tired but the beds are fantastic. Its an old property, although not cold, did feel slightly damp although no evidence of this in the property. its not a bad property just not a good one.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable period property in secluded surroundings.

It’s in an excellent location for Newark Showground, and is a lovely period property in secluded surroundings. I appreciated the decently equipped kitchen with nice touches such as providing aluminium foil, washing-up liquid, and coasters. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bed linen and towels were lovely.

As is often the case with period properties, the television and Wi-Fi reception was erratic. It was occasionally noisy with doors slamming and workmen shouting.

The bed was exceptional! Great location for what we needed. Super quiet and the host was a delight. Will stay again when back up in the area.

Easy to find, private, good facilities, very near Newark so good for antiques fairs etc

Very private. Spacious and interesting as we enjoy the unusual historic setting. Would stay there again

Maybe a bit more character in the room ie lots of wall space and interesting pictures or posters etc can make a big difference.
