About this campground/ rv resort rental
Please be advised, that during heavy rain And snow four-wheel-drive may be necessary at best roads are bumpy at all times and not recommended for low clearance cars. also the units are not heated. Please plan to show up before dark for the best experience and ease of finding the location.
Experience the Southwest in a secluded & peaceful part of SE Utah. South of Moab, Canyon Lands & Arches National Park. North of Monument Valley. Watch amazing stars and sunsets above the crowds and heat of Moab below.
This area is dedicated to primitive camping, fire pits and firewood are available onsite. Showers and bathrooms are available in the main site area which is a five minute walk. Soon after you pass Indian Canyon the road gets bumpy for about 30 yards. Generally if you stay all the way to the west, towards the mountains it’s easiest. Or pick an easy route down the center of the road. High clearance recommended but skilled drivers can negotiate the route without much effort.
The space
As you enter the gate to the property gate, camping is available on either side of the driveway, choose your spot. To get to the main site you can continue on the driveway for about five minutes walking and will come to the showers, outhouse, Wi-Fi, etc. This specific campsite though is for primitive camping only and has no services other than firewood, fire pits and a picnic table. If you were to continue on Brushey Terrace, you will end up on the national forest land. The road gets quite a bit worse after the gate to the property and is accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles only.
Guest access
The host house is nearby further down the driveway on the way to the main site if you need assistance please text or call.
Other things to note
You will likely be greeted by two friendly dogs, the black one is Bear, the brindle is River. River is still a puppy and tends to jump up on you though he is learning. Feel free to be firm if he jumps.
Indian Canyon Ranch is a Nest In Harmony promoted location, we value natural living and alternative living styles and featuring different living structures for off-grid lifestyles. With our guidance for the best experience for guests, owner of Indian Canyon Ranch, Joe, lived and worked in Yosemite & Grand Canyon National Park as project manager and not wanting the used materials to be wasted in the landfill, Joe captured the opportunity to create an off-grid retreat when he bought the first 10 acres of Indian Canyon Ranch which is now 20 acres total He took years to collect and build this off-grid retreat, piece by piece, up-cycling construction debris. Now Joe lives off-grid full-time and is sharing in the experience. Joe will be able to answer some of your questions or give you advice on the area and other natural wonders in the region including local Indian ruins, or a great place to swim, or go off-roading :)

This low-key setting, dark-sky setting was easy to access but felt remote. The stars were magnificent. We used Joe’s lower camping area, so come self-contained. There is a fire ring, plenty of wood around the property, a picnic table and porta potty. Great for when you want a reserved spot to semi-boondock. Joe was a great host and easy to communicate with—we enjoyed our stay for the annular solar eclipse.

Located about 10 miles south of Monticello on beautiful treed property with several campsites, fire pits and even hand made benches and tables. Our spot was private and quiet, plenty of room for our camping gear. Tons of available firewood.
Our host went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed!
Skip Moab and go here!
