About this house rental
Welcome to our Shore Rd beach house! This single family home was recently renovated in 2021 - brand new stainless steel appliances, washer & dryer, laminate hardwood flooring, tile bathroom with walk in glass shower & more.
There are 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs both with king size beds. On the main level there is an additional bedroom which has a twin day bed with trundle which makes our home comfortable for up to 6 people. We also offer a pack and play for those traveling with little ones! The upstairs loft area has a desk for those working from the beach!
Outside you will find our front deck with fire pit over looks private sandy beach and Long Island Sound.

Beautiful home in great location. Worked perfectly for our family. House was in amazing shape, outdoor patio was awesome! As prior reviews have said, make sure you have water shoes, the water for the first 5-10 ft is very rocky. But overall everything was amazing

The cottage is a perfect cozy stay on the water - we stayed in the winter and still were able to enjoy the sand and the sunrises right outside the window. House is well-appointed and well-located within area with access to restaurants and shops in Clinton, Madison, Westbrook, Old Saybrook, etc.

This was a perfect location for our young family of 5. Very kid friendly, clean and beautiful home. We were in town for a funeral and local motels/hotels just didn’t have the options we needed. Our kids loved the house and our whole family hopes to return for another visit.

Our stay at Kates property was wonderful. The house is exactly as described in the positing and the beach is stunning. The house is very well thought out with everything we needed. Comfortable rooms, large beds, well stocked kitchen, updated bathroom, great fire pit (solo stove), and plenty of beach essentials like chairs and toys. Kate is very responsive and helpful. Would stay here again for sure!

Perfect little beach house. Very comfortable (for 4), very kid friendly!
This was our first trip to the Sound and we were not disappointed. The fishing was fantastic, we could watch the cormorants & osprey all day. Easy to take a kayak or paddleboard out for some fun. The beach was a bit rocky at water’s edge, so you will want to pack some water shoes.
The Wednesday night sailboat races were beautiful- they start around 6p. We had delightful happy hour and dinner on the beach. The neighborhood is very laid-back & quiet.
Easy drive if you want to explore Mystic or New Haven for the day.
The house was clean and very comfortable, and Kate was very responsive to our questions leading up to the stay.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this property. Everything provided was in good condition, clean, and ready to use. Although we typically bring our own supplies and bedding, the ones provided were in great condition. The house was so cozy and perfect for a family of 5. The property manager was very attentive and nice and responded to messages quickly.
The area was quiet and safe. The few days we stayed were beautiful and we made the most out of the deck and beach area.There are absolutely no complaints about this property and host. We could have not asked for anything better!

I went with my 80 year old mother, 3 year old toddler, 12 year old stepdaughter and husband and this place was perfect! Of course my stepdaughter and son took the ac room (lol) but the other rooms were great and roomy! You found not beat the view. I love the porch looking right over the sand so you dont have to be on the sand to enjoy it. My senior mother could sit o it and watch us without worrying about loosing her balance in the sand. My kids absolutely loved everything about it!! My husband and I thought it was perfect as well. You don’t have to “fight for a spot on the beach” like some other review said. Everyone has their own set spot. Ours was nice and big and perfect. The parking worked wonderfully and it was so easy getting in and out of the house. It was newly remodeled so the kitchen, floors, bathroom etc. were all gorgeous!! Thank you for letting us stay here and we can’t wait to come back in the future!!

My family and I had a great stay. The house is very cute and comfortable. Great access to a nice private beach right out of your door. All of the neighbors were very kind and friendly. Katelyn was amazing. She was very quick to respond to any questions I had. The area is amazing. There are so many beautiful towns to explore and so much to do. I definitely would recommend. We only had a small window of time to vacation and we loved this little property. Unfortunely the weather didn’t cooperate and it was cloudy and cold the whole weekend. But that didn’t stop our fun. It was so nice to be able to sit on the patio by the chimanea and let the kids play by the sand/water. The houses are all right next to each other and it is a shared beach but beginning of June seemed very quiet so we had the whole place to ourselves. The only issue I could see with some people is the spiral staircase to get up stairs, my mom had a small issue with it. But other than that it was a wonderful house and we would def come back!

Pics are exactly as described! This house is cute and whimsical. Hosts provide a lot more than other rentals we’ve stayed at (linens, towels, margarita maker). Ocean views are gorgeous and unobstructed. Water was clean and warm enough for swimming. Great for the Littles because you don’t get big waves. It’s a very densely built up area but the neighbors who own the neighboring houses were welcoming and there was plenty of room compared to a public beach.

Perfect little house right on the beach! Updated and clean. Although the neighbors are very close, all were quite pleasant. House was well equipped with everything you could need. AC units were only upstairs, and one of the units stopped working 4 days into our vacation (I think it was overworked due to the heat wave!), but the unit in one of the bedroom hung in there thankfully! Overall a lovely home in a lovely neighborhood directly on the beach - wonderful!

Hot!
The property was beautiful. Right on the beach as described. However, the write up stated there was air conditioning. The air conditioning was only in the upstairs bedrooms. My mom and I were there during a heat wave, the property was so hot you could not even sit outside under the awning without fans. There were three fans in the house. I had to buy a fourth so we were able to tolerate the heat. Central air or air conditioners should be installed downstairs.

Premium price… Moderate experience
We were very excited in the months leading up to a two-week rental of our beachfront getaway. On our first day there were learned that our beachfront was shared with not only the two other houses on the property but also from across the street. This amounted to many people for a relatively small beach area. Every day we needed to jockey for position to get any space on what we thought was our beach. We had an unfortunate exchange with the owner four days after we left. We were accused of leaving the property “excessively filthy” when in actuality, we did our absolute best to keep the place clean throughout our stay. The owner charged a cleaning fee which we feel was very unfair after paying the price we did for the rental which already included a rental fee. In closing although this place had some nice features, the beach access and the overly-stringent cleaning policy and associated charges would deter us from recommending this property to others.

Love this cozy place!
This cute cottage makes the most of its space and provided a cozy holiday stay. It’s not for big families or very tall people (we top out at 5’10”) - being very tall would make the bathroom a challenge. But for our family of four adults it was perfect. It was clean and comfortably furnished, with updated kitchen appliances and a freshly renovated bathroom. Magnificent views as it is waterfront on LI sound. Beds are great! We hope to be back next time we visit family in Madison.

Great weekend getaway!
My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay at this cute beach house. The location being right on the water was ideal, with great sunsets & sunrises. Especially the view from the bedroom of the sunrises. The patio was great to sit outside and enjoy our meals with the peacefulness of the water and ocean breeze. We loved sitting in the living room with the wall to wall windows. The check in/out process was easy and plenty of amenities included if needed. While quite close to the neighbors, all were friendly and we did not feel uncomfortable at all. The location is ideal as well, close to great restaurants and in a nice neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!

Beach R and R
This was exactly what we needed to recuperate from a few days on the road. The best part was that our Brooklyn family was able to join us, with a 16 month old and 3 1/2 year old. We made the bedroom situation work with the two king size beds upstairs, and the trundle downstairs. The spiral staircase was a bit risky for the toddler, but we were able to gate it. We also appreciated the gates located on the doorways of the two upstairs bedrooms. The 16 month old likes nothing more than to tempt fate. The direct access to the beach was wonderful. There were plenty of beach toys for both kids, which was very helpful. The kitchen was well equipped, with just about everything I have in my kitchen at home, The margarita maker is over the top. There are other rentals/homes pretty close, so not exactly private. Long walks on the beach aren't going to happen either, as there are very distinct property lines, with small rock jetties making it impossible to walk far in either direction. However, for a three night stay to unwind and chill, this rental fit the bill. We would recommend it for sure.

Adorable cottage right on the beach!
I had a relaxing vacation at Kate’s cottage. There’s a small bedroom just off the kitchen and upstairs (note it’s a spiral staircase) there are two larger bedrooms. The full bath is located on the first floor. While there is no air conditioning, the windows open and there are fans. But we stayed out on the private beach and outdoor deck as much as possible. Kate was responsive and lovely. Would definitely stay again!

Can't Wait To Go Back!
My husband I stayed for a long weekend and didn't want to leave! The house is perfect for a couple or small group to relax, well set up for children, and the location can't be beat! We had some mixed weather but even on the rainy days there is a beautiful view of the sound and plenty of amenities to relax inside while listening to the waves. At 6 1/2 months pregnant I loved that everything was so clean and the beach was relatively private. So we also felt very safe, which was extremely important to us at this point. We will definitively be back with our little one!
