A luxury 2 bedroom 2 ½ bath residence well positioned between Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Boone being about a 15 minute drive away from each of them . The area is best known for outdoor experiences like hiking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, fishing, winter activities,horseback riding and skiing. Our cozy guest house is best suited for families looking for a weekend adventure or anyone who wants to make the best of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Happy it was only for 1 night. While the property is beautiful it has some serious AC/Heat issues. The upstairs was miserable and the downstairs cold regardless of how we adjusted the thermostat. The dead mouse at the front door was interesting and not sure how whomever cleaned prior to us didn’t see it. The light outside is on a sensor and went off all night. There are blackout curtains in the room which help. Overall nice for one night but not sure we would have been ok more than that.

We enjoyed an overnight stay. House was clean and organized. We were able to cook dinner at the house and all cooking utensils were supplied. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable. House was difficult to locate at night. I would suggest check in in the daylight if you can

I had a very unpleasant experience with this stay & an even more unpleasant & strangely confrontational interaction with the host. I don't like to leave negative reviews so I had decided to just not review at all. Then yesterday, over a week after my stay, I received another confrontational message from the host! My principal feedback & a word of caution to other potential guests is that I had an issue when I arrived & the host never called back. I now realize that the hosts’ first language is Spanish & they do not speak English very well, so I suspect this is the reason why they don’t answer phone calls or call back when asked to. There isn’t room to detail our saga but the short version is that the central heat was not on in the house (despite it being winter in the mountains), so it was 45 inside when we arrived & we were all uncomfortable. We called 5 times over several hours & sent multiple text messages explaining the situation & asking for callback & maybe space heaters, but no one ever called us back. The rest of the story is even more bizarre. Most hosts would apologize. This host has instead responded with multiple text messages (still no phone call) accusing us of lying about the situation (huh? Why would we do that?) & describing video they recorded of us in the house (pretty sure it is illegal to record people without their knowledge or consent) saying our kids didn’t really seem to be crying (what a weird thing to say, right?!). I would not recommend.

My wife and son stayed while in town for a bike race. Brand new, immaculately clean, super comfortable beds and ceiling fans. Rosa, the host, was extremely helpful. Convenient but quiet location

Beautiful Home!

Our family traveled to the area for some winter activities. The home is beautifully furnished and has comfy beds with nice linens. My only suggestion would be that the owner invest in a more “user friendly” TV system. Also, know in advance that the owner requires you to take off your shoes in property and if you are using all beds, there is not much lounging room/furniture. We would stay here again.

The cottage was true to pics and reviews. Great location between Blowing Rock/Boone and Banner Elk. We used it for a night before skiing at Beech Mountain. It was very clean and new. Upgraded appliances were nice. We didn’t get to use the deck because it was cold but it looked nice. Be sure to look at the pics as there isn’t much room to sit and relax in the main room due to the day bed in place of a couch. Part of the lot/driveway was still under construction and there was some heavy equipment in the way that made parking and exiting difficult. Overall, a nice cozy place in a great location. Owners were attentive and easy to communicate with.

We loved staying in Rosa’s guest house! She was very hospitable and extremely helpful when we were having parking troubles. House was very clean and updated, had everything we needed for a great stay. Do note that if it is snowing, you will need 4WD to access the property.

We felt very unwelcomed at the condo. There was plastic on the table, plastic under the sheets of the bed so that every time you moved, you could hear it, there were no top sheets at all on the beds - just comforters which is not good for hygiene purposes. They had Soft soap handsoap for body wash in the showers (however there was a locked cabinet with actual body soap - so I don't know what was up with that), there was foil over the top of the stove and the entire inside of the stove, the list goes on and on and on of how we felt VERY UNWELCOMED at the property. Also, although the owners were next door while we were there - when we arrived, the house was in the 40s and it took forever to heat up. If they had simply turned on the heat at 3pm - it might have been better. We were going to eat at the property but since it was freezing inside and didn't want to eat with our coats on, we ended up taking the dark windy road back to town to have dinner. So very thankful we only stayed one night!!!!! I wouldn't have stayed an extra night for sure!! It seems as if the owner doesn't want people to actually stay there.

Everything was very clean & nice. Great communication with homeowner and very detailed instructions. Know this is someone’s home that is going through renovations with saws and wood lining the driveway. Also note this is not on site at Hound’s Ear.

Rosa was very responsive, and the place was very clean (this is coming from someone who is slightly neurotic), welcoming and ready, and the views were absolutely beautiful mid/end of October! Of course it’s in the mountains, so be prepared for a windy and steep ride up to the house.

This is a beautiful property! It looked brand new and was extremely clean. It felt very private and spacious. The bed was comfortable and we will definitely be back! It is centrally located to all the activities and places in Boone and Blowing Rock.
