Loved being "out in the country" and so close to the river. Nice house with so many comfortable rooms to choose from! Plenty to entertain with a hot tub, board games, TV, outdoor deck, and 10 min. drive into town. We especially loved that this rental is pet friendly! Host was super accommodating and very responsive to questions if we couldn't locate/operate something. So relaxing here. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Enjoyed our time in cottonwood! Beautiful home and easy experience with our stay! We had the best time exploring the river and Jerome! Loved the location and decor of home. We would definitely stay again.

Such a cute home and great spot to stay! Way back in a little community that gives you a rural feel with easy access to the town and amenities. Grateful to the Colorful Cottonwood home owners that allowed a dog friendly environment to bring our 1 year old lab puppy! Teaching her to be an easy going adventure dog is a lot easier with wonderful homes like this :)

Nice, well maintained house in a quiet neighborhood.
4.7
Nice outside upper deck with the Verde River across the road. The 2 recliners were appreciated.
Since there are no televisions in the bedrooms, and no lamps on the nightstands, one would have to use the bright overhead lights to read in bed.
Would recommend to have at least one light on the nightstand in the bedrooms.
Enjoyed our stay!

We wanted a place close to Sedona but out of the hustle and bustle, this property was perfect for that and exploring Cottonwood, Jerome.
4.7
Very nice. Great beds, nicely equipped. Short drive to everything we wanted to see around Sedona. Old Town Cottonwood had great restaurants and bars.

We took time and enjoyed the neighborhood it was quiet and everyone we met while walking were friendly. It was peaceful and a great retreat for our 25th wedding anniversary. We truly enjoyed our time at Cottonwood.

We had a terrific stay. The home was very clean and bright inside. We rode on the Verde Canyon Railroad in Clarkdale which was so much fun. We walked downtown Cottonwood admiring all the gift shops. We ate at the Belfry Brewery. The food was delicious. We also had wine at Merkin Vineyards in Cottonwood. The weather was great so we all went for a walk to the river near the house.

I am very sorry that I have to say this. We’ve been using VRBO for all our trips. This is the first time that we felt the pictures are very deceiving. Anyway, as soon as we entered the property, smells like a skank. Then, we tried to cook, the stove were unclean. It’s just a chain reaction. Then, hair from the bed. The bathroom was not clean and the shower curtain were overused. The toilet bowl cleaner were very old and overused. We informed the host immediately and sent some pictures. She offered for the cleaners to come back but we were just too tired for all of these. We immediately opened all the windows and sprayed. Washed the bed sheets and towels. Light cleaning. We were instructed to call EVOLVE. We called at 2:30 pm. Per Mary, someone will be calling us soon. Our call was not returned till 6:00 pm. At that time, no choice but to stay overnight.
We appreciate the patience and help of the second and third lady that we spoke. They were very helpful and compassionate. It is truly an ordeal.
We strongly recommend to shampoo the carpet, smells like dog pee. Add some window curtains in the kitchen for privacy. Clean and change the shower curtain for each guest for safety and COVID free environment. We also sent some pictures for some damages to make sure that the host are aware of it. We were not able to sleep. We have to close the windows and sliding doors at night for safety. The smell was bad that I have to respond to evolve email at 2:30 am and decided, we are not staying.
I truly hope and pray that the owner will inspect the property after someone else cleaned them. It is the worst experience that we had.
This is suppose to be our fall birthday gateway. Unforgettable experience.
At the end, we appreciate refunding us. We were able to find another place. Thank you very much Daniella and Darline from Evolve.

This fit exactly what we needed, the house and the yard worked perfect for us and our dogs which took a lot of stress off our trip. House was clean and inviting, we would definitely book this house again on future trips to AZ. Our guest host Catie was amazing, we needed to extend our check out by a few hours and she responded quickly and was so helpful. Staying here definitely took some of the stress off for our daughter's wedding.

After reading the reviews of Colorful Cottonwood, we were so eager to escape the Phoenix heat and make this location our temporary home base for a short getaway. It was EVERYTHING that was described, and then some! We usually miss our own beds and cozy recliners from home when we travel, but this abode had beds and furniture pieces that were incredibly comfortable for us! We loved the lights, flooring, and decor. The bicycle prints were so fun and unique! As a family of faith, we also immensely appreciated the addition of the scripture art! It was a beautiful reminder that being together as a family is ultimately what makes a vacation unforgettable! We found ourselves walking around looking at the stunning, simple yet elegant design and the creative built-ins all over the home. We are a family of 4 humans and our dog, Coconut. We took three walks one day just to enjoy the cool mornings and evenings. There is an Agape Community Garden and park just steps away from the house, and the Verde Village Property Owners Association Preserve is within walking distance as well. We walked across the lane to look at the gurgling Verde River and took in all the beautiful neighborhood houses and foliage. The two decks look out to gorgeous scenery and the drive to the location is quite beautiful as well. The Walmart was so close that when we realized we needed dessert (Cannoli and Ding Dongs--we're not a fancy crew, ha!) to accompany our brisket and salad dinner, I made it to the market and back in under 30 minutes! We ate in town at The Krow and stopped at Gayle's Chocolates for consumable souvenirs. For our family, a venture north ALWAYS means stopping in at The Golden Goose Grill in Sedona, and we were elated that the temps in Red Rock country were ten degrees cooler during the day. The mornings in Cottonwood were in the 70's and absolutely invigorating. It should be noted that the water pressure was excellent, and the water got so hot so quickly even with all four of us showering within a short time frame! We all know how annoying it can be when you are last to get ready and the water basically turns into tap temperature! In the Arizona heat, that is rarely a major issue, I admit, but it is a wonderful thing to have hot water when you want it! With a rental home, you really don't ever know what you're gonna get! The AC worked great for the midday heat. There were spices, oil, foil, and disposable dinnerware, as well as nice dishes for sit-down family meals. Although we didn't use the hot tub, we did peek at it and it was clean and very well maintained. The whole home was so pristine, so uncluttered, and so welcoming! We planned to visit Jerome and perhaps take a Jeepin' trail, but these activities were scratched when we realized hanging out at Colorful Cottonwood was simultaneously relaxing and rejuvenating. Our ONLY less than perfect aspect of our stay was that it just wasn't long enough! Next time we will be sure to book more days. The owners left brochures, area guides and magazines, and a laminated booklet. Two teachers were on this trip, so we always get excited when we see laminated pages, ha! This is a bit goofy to admit, but we were all so excited when we saw there was already ice in the freezer for our initial Happy Hour! We had been delayed due to holiday traffic, of course, and arrived in separate vehicles, so we were desparate to unwind when we arrived at 3 pm to check in. The sounds of Cottonwood-owls, roosters, woodpeckers, leaves blowing in the breeze, and babbling river-made us forget the I-17 congestion right away. The modern-mixed-with-retro kitchen was all kinds of fun, and there is even a Keurig! We'll bring our K-Cups for the guys when we return. The grounds are just adorable. There's a garden, a trellis, walking pavers, and seating outdoors both upstairs and downstairs. If you have a member of your party who has trouble with stairs, there is a bedroom and bath (with a lovely sink) on the ground floor. For those of you who've ever booked due to amazing reviews of an Evolve/VRBO/Air B&B home, only to arrive to find a less-than-clean or ill-maintained place (sigh...), this is NOT the case with Colorful Cottonwood! It is everything that is described and photographed! A half hour drive will take you to countless landmarks in all directions. The property managers/owners were extremely prompt in responding before, during, and after our trip, and check in and check out was a breeze. We had no issues whatsoever. Google Maps will take you straight to the location. We hope to be back very soon!
