Hastings is extremely rich in history and is really divided into three parts including the old town where you will be based. There’s a modern section which holds the shopping centre and other shops to enjoy, whilst you walk through the maze of twittens, and old streets lined with pubs and souvenir shops. The final tertiary of the town is St. Leonards-on-Sea, stretching from Warrior Square to within a few feet of the oldest pub in St. Leonards. Norman Road is a parade of contemporary galleries, quirky cafés and independent shops. If you choose to stay local and spend a day at the beach, then you’ll enjoy a good family day out with lots of things to keep you busy. With the Blue Reef Aquarium with its cute pufferfish, graceful rays and romantic sea horses and the Flamingo Amusement Park, there is plenty to do for a whole week and we haven’t even mentioned the 19th-century pier, museums and the historical landmarks dotted along the way.
Just down the coast West is Eastbourne and 30 minutes’ drive north where you are submerged in the High Wealds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This house really gives you everything you need and the fact it has parking and a couple of outdoor parking spaces is premium. If you couple all this with those glorious far reaching views, you have really found your staycation this is going to bring you lots of joy and a lifetime of memories. Beach approximately 600m.

There are 2 sides to this review. The down sides were unfortunately the property was not clean enough. The remote controls, light switches, kitchen cupboards etc. were very dirty (all the areas where covid would be rife). I had to clean some of these myself. Also there was a cheese wrapper in the bedroom and lego on the dining chair which says to me it wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Also the tray in the microwave had crusted food on it so I had to wash that up before use. The blind in the lounge is broken and one of the blinds in the kitchen does not work. Also the wi-fi is not great. We had problems the first night which was attended to quickly! But in between and on the last night it took us over an hour to get Netflix working. This is quite crucial these days so this needs to be sorted. On the up side, the beds were super comfy, the front garden has 2 benches and a table and is a nice sunny afternoon/evening spot if you get the weather (we had a bad week but still managed to sit out there). You can't really sit in the back as it doesn't get any sun and there's a huge pirate out there so you can't seat 4 people out there. There are lots of hooks which I find really handy on holiday just to sling things on a hook! It is a quick walk down to the old town but steep steps back up. Also the steps in the house are lovely but be wary as they are very steep and slippery. Certainly not for the very old or very young! We visited Dungeness which was a lovely day and visited the lighthouse

Lovely clean property. Was a bit nervous of first set of stairs but that was just me and I'm no spring chicken!! Had great views over Hastings and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
