Overall we loved the place. In particular, being truly right on the lake, with deck, dock, kayaks, boards well placed. The fire pit and big den were appreciated.
Disappointing issues: staircase railing was unstable and grandma nearly tumbled down the stairs as a result. A cable tie was in place but maybe only compounded the problem: was it meant to hold the rail in place to its mount (it didnt), or just act as a flag (it didnt)? please fix and consider adjusting the charges.
The master BR (ground floor) was musty, maybe thats why it had multiple fans. Moved the rug out (sorry we forget to replace it) but no better. ALso would have appreciated an explicit heads-up that the property is on a busy road/hwy. Kitchen needs bigger pots/pans, baking dishes, cookie sheets, rubber spatula. We are trying to be constructive here and if needed we could edit this before it goes public. thank you!

We nicknamed the trip “the boat trip without the boat”. The water view is amazing and we spent time outside everyday! Highlands is a charming town and great for hiking. We would visit the Highlands again!

4 adults, 3 teens, 1 golden retriever made full use of this property on the lake. House and adjoining cabin for the teens was great. Lake is beautiful, used the kayaks and SUPs. Close to downtown and hikes. Only negative is that it is right on a busy road so you cannot walk anywhere from the property and must be hyper alert that all gates are locked so dog does not get out. We really did enjoy our stay!

Main house was very clean needs a few repairs of cabinets and master shower leak. Bunk house was not clean at all dog hair and a vape on the floor. Loved the location and space and time on a peaceful lake with fishing and kayaking. Would definitely come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this spacious house on the lake! Bigger than advertised, wonderful masters suite, all the amenities you could dream of being on the lake. Also super close and easy to get to DT highlands! Would definitely recommend and well be coming back for sure!

The home was lovely and clean. It was on the water and had boats and poles that made for a fun experience. There could have been some additional supplies and the railing needs to be fixed, but otherwise the location was excellent and we had a great time.

The house was perfect for our needs! Beautiful location, well appointed home with everyone we needed. We were also renting the house next door so location couldn't have been better! Thx for laying out the welcome mat so nicely and making sure we had everything we needed.

Great house and location. This house was perfect for a family. The space to spread out and also gather was very nice. Updates to the kitchen and bathrooms were great. Waking up and walking a few steps to the lake and dock were amazing. We had a blast.

We enjoyed our stay at this home in the highlands. The owner was excellent at communicating and always very quick/helpful to answer questions. Amazing location right out of downtown and plenty of space for our group of 6 adults, 3 kids!

Despite some weather related plumbing problems (that were dealt with as soon as they could be), it was a wonderful getaway. My husband and I along with our dog and one adult son stayed in the big house. My sister and her husband and 17 year old son stayed in the bunkhouse. A great way to have time together yet space apart. Everything you need for your stay was there. A great location and property. We look forward to hopefully visiting there again this summer. The owner was great about communicating and I also look forward to working with him again.

The location is excellent and the views are breathtaking. Drew (the host) was very responsive to our needs and when we had an issue he was very quick to address it to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend this property and we would definitely go back again. Thank you Drew!

This property is perfect for a large group. We were 8 women, family and friends, ages 24 to 75 yrs old. Sufficient beds and baths (the separate bunk house was a bonus ) in large kitchen and plenty of sufficient seating for dining.
The property owner left easy instructions and was a very good communicator. The plentiful. parking was exceptional for a Highlands property. The proximity to town was very
convenient . I would like to rent this property again in wa to take advantage of the fire pit and canoes.

This property was absolutely perfect for our group. Kitchen was big, bedrooms were awesome. Porch and Deck were our hangout spot. We fished, kayaked, hiked, fished and a couple of us crazies actually got in the cold water, it was amazing. Sat around the firepit every night and spent Saturday watching football on the porch. All ready there is talked of wanting to rebook in the spring. Hope it's available.

We had 6 adults with our children and had plenty of space to play. The house itself is an “activity” with an outdoor TV, dock for fishing, fire pit etc. The dining room overlooks the water and the second house is extremely helpful for groups. So close to downtown. We loved it.

This property would be amazing with a big group. Our teens used the bunkhouse one night when Big Brother visited from Clemson. Amazing to have so much room.
The main house is adorable. Great views to the lake. Although we did not cook, looks like everything needed is available. The house is very well-stocked and supplied.
It was too cool to use the paddle boards, but we really enjoyed the canoes.
Greater detail to the cleanliness of the master bath would be one of the very few critiques that I would offer.
Great location and great house. We would stay again.

The property was amazing. Plenty of space for 4 couples and 3 other adults. Kitchen was stocked with nice dinner ware, wine glasses, water glasses and utensils. Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products, plenty of paper goods, WHITE linens and bath cloths. Cabin had plenty of firewood for the inside fireplace and outdoor fire pit. The cabin was stocked with a couple of spices but not many-I am not complaining about that because I do not like using old spices that are kept in rental spaces.

Price was good for the amount of property and being on the lake, but we had 2 days of fireplace cleaning, early morning delivery of furniture, dryer was not working, room upstairs smelled like cat urine. The house is extremely damp and was sterile with no accessories or decor. Lacked the cozy factor. The Owner did not mention they would be having repairs in the listing prior to my booking the property. It was disappointing to not have the fireplace as advertised in one of the photos. I went back and reread the reviews and it looks like the same individual gave the property a couple of 5 star reviews. I wish I had caught that before my booking. It’s a bit of bait and switch. I will say the property has potential and has a beautiful view off of the back porch with paddle boards and kayaks. If you stay there, I would sleep upstairs away from the moisture or the bunkhouse. Overall I would not stay there again.

Highly recommend for teens to stay in bunk house. Dryer was broken but I’m sure the owners will fix it.

Beautiful Lake House
The Lake house is beautiful. Has just been newly remodeled. We all enjoyed the peace and relaxed outside by the lake, fishing, and grilling out. The only downside was I never noticed on listing the house or bunkhouse does not have air conditioning. Only fans. And no screens in windows except ones facing lake. Had to keep windows up and fans going. Temps in house when using oven to cook were between 85-93. The temp during the day in house’s were the lowest with fans 77-81. But, we spent most time outside by lake. Me and my husband and family truly enjoyed every minute of vacation. We adjusted to temp in house. We would definitely stay again!!!! It truly is a beautiful location and worth the time with family 😊

Perfect Highlands House
This house was perfect. Recently renovated, beautiful, clean. You could not ask for a better location...on the lake, close to waterfalls, 5 minutes from downtown. We drank our morning coffee sitting on the dock watching the fog blow off the lake. The kids had a blast swimming and fishing. We took family paddleboard rides a couple times a day. Beautiful sunset views on the lake each evening. When we wanted to go hiking or into town, everything was a quick, easy drive. We've stayed at Old Edwards Inn (which is very nice), but I would never stay there again knowing I could stay at this house on the lake! It was a dream.
Also, it had more than enough space for us. With the extra bunk house, we actually were able to share the experience and ended up inviting some family to come spend some time with us on our trip.
We really felt like we hit the jackpot with this house and can't wait to come back!
