About this house rental
A unique and perfect setting for a tranquil getaway. This lovely cabin sits in the heart of the Julian Main District, at the intersection of Third St and B St - refreshingly beautiful , while being a few steps from the Main St.
The cozy, cute cabin , nestled amidst oak, apricot and plum trees and offering lot of privacy and serenity, is a great get away and offers a very relaxing, refreshing stay.
All the restaurants, the wolf center, and the Julian Beer Company etc., are just a minute walk. 7 miles from Lake Cuyamaca. DO NOT MISS. Anza Borrego State Park is 25 mins away.
The entrance is on the third street, along the fence adjoining the front building that says Old Well with a US Flag. The entrance leads into a vacant land and this cabin is located at the back side to the right.
There is a switch in the living room above the room AC, next to the door that turns on both the ceiling fans and the lights , there are strings to adjust.
In the inside room there is the dial along the wall adjacent to the sink that turns on the recessed ceiling lights.
The switch for the patio light is to the left of the door when you enter and I have labeled all the switches on an orange tape.
There are two ACs , one in each which provide substantial cooling. Please ensure that the remotes are carefully placed where they are.
The kitchen is equipped with all the cookware, utensils, plates, coffee machine, toaster etc.,.
This cottage is a historic property and is not set up for parties and no more than 4 people at most, with the exception of families with infants and toddlers.
This is a quiet neighborhood and a Noise Curfew is firmly in place. No outside noise or inside loud music or tv, before 8am and after 10pm.

Pros: This property is located in the heart of Julian, providing easy access to the town's shopping and famous pie shops. The ample parking space on the lawn is a bonus.
Cons: However, cleanliness and maintenance were significant issues. Upon arrival, we noticed numerous cobwebs and spiders on the walls, windowsills, and in the corners. Multiple dead craneflies were hanging from the walls, picture frames, and scattered on the floor. The shower had a noticeable layer of dirt, indicating it had not been properly cleaned.
The bathroom setup was disappointing. The door is a "barn door with windows, and half a curtain" compromising privacy. It also has a curtain, but it didn’t provide sufficient coverage. Closing the door was difficult, forcing us to choose between having a shut door or maintaining privacy. We also found many spiders in the towels in the shower area. The sink in the bathroom is tiny, so plan accordingly if you want to use it for brushing teeth or washing hands.
Bed #1 is in the main room, the bunkbed is in the kitchen.
The kitchen had several issues. There was no dish soap provided, which is a basic necessity. Additionally, the area around the sink was plywood with peeling contact paper.
Overall, while the location of this property is fantastic, the numerous issues with cleanliness and maintenance detracted from our experience. With some improvements, this could be a great place to stay in Julian. As it stands, I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

My family and I loved this place. It is like a little cottage for 4 of us plus our 2 dogs. This was a comfortable place to stay we had everything that we needed in the house. It was very close to restaurants, grocery stores and pretty much everything within walking distance. Matt was very nice and communicated very quick through VRBO message system. I would recommend if you want to have a great time in Julian. Thanks Matt

The cabin was everything that was advertised online. It was as we expected. Unfortunately for us we chose to celebrate Valentine's Day during one of the worst storms. Very windy rainy and light dust of snow All kept us inside the cabin.
Deepest gratitude to Mark for having two heaters. Who is the only way that it was cozy. Plenty to watch on TV. Binge-watched one of our favorite shows on Netflix and did some puzzling. A lot of places in town were closed but we were able to find the cafe open to feed us breakfast and dinner.
Our high-end meal was it Jeremy's... Delish!!
Wouldn't mind coming here again. Especially if we could take advantage of walking one block from downtown.

Walking distance to the business district....the cottage was clean.
As an artist and avid reader, I found the lighting to be lacking...also - appreciate having coffee available in early morning." However, I enjoyed visiting with the coffee shop employees each morning!! I had trouble accessing the internet and may have written down the wrong code. 'Was unable to reach the owner as, "mailbox full." Perhaps there was a directory in the cottage....I didn't see it. I would definitely visit this cottage again!

This cottage is perfect for visiting all the fun things in downtown Julian. The large yard was perfect for our pup to play in and I enjoyed a nice nap on the hammock!
The owner has put a lot of work into this historic building and I am sure he will keep improving it more.
We would definitely stay here again!

Cute (if quirky) Little Place
This little cabin afforded us everything we needed and was right in the heart of town which worked out great. Matt was more than responsive for the couple of times we needed to reach out to him. All the beds were comfortable and sheets and bedding clean and cozy. As a matter of fact, my two friends said the slept better at this cabin than at home!

Creature comforts
We loved this quaint, cozy cabin. Perfect location for our adventure with our dogs. Great yard, porch, and way to spend a lazy day. Plenty of TV and internet music choices, although we didn’t use that much. Owner was available and very responsive when we needed something. Heaters made a big difference when needed. He also has A/Cs in the windows so we will definitely be back for the summer! Thank you!

My husband and I booked this for our first weekend away without kids EVER. It was such a cute place, and I loved that it was within walking distance to everything on Main Street, we didn't even drive anywhere all weekend long, just walked to what we wanted to do. I loved this place, and I am planning on coming back soon with our kids as well.

Julian, A quaint town with beautiful paths for hiking.
A quaint town with beautiful paths for hiking.. A little more rustic than I would have liked but I love the location and they’re very homey feeling.

Great location
Cute enough place, needs some work to the interior. Well-stocked kitchen. Bathroom could benefit from a little shelf over the sink in there. More bath amenities would be nice, too.

Very enjoyable
The property was perfectly located to the center of town with just a block to Main St. It came with everything necessary for a weekend trip and the allowance of our two hiking pets made it perfect especially with the large lot for pups to roam around, although not fully fenced. I would suggest enlarging the bathroom.

Cabin in Julian, CA
We enjoyed our stay in Julian. The cabin is quaint, but undergoing some needed renovations. Bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped and plenty of parking available on property. AC sufficient for property. Outside deck great for bird watching and wild turkeys visited every morning. Location is great! Reasonably priced.

Location, Location, Location
This newly available cabin was in the absolutely best location and my 78 year old mother was able to use her rolling walker inside the cabin and yard, as well as ride her battery cart to and from town. The weather was perfect for sitting on the porch or in the yard. The newly remodeled kitchen was fully stocked with the latest, including an Instapot!
The quaint two room cabin with sleeping for four is perfect for a young family or retired folks like us!
We walked town and tried all the local places, sitting in the yard in the mornings and evenings! Enjoyed the fruit trees and lilac bushes throughout the large yard with plentiful parking!
