Very very basic. Nothing nice about it all especially for the price
3.2
Not happy. The rooms were so small that hardly there was any place to walk. Very old and rundown rooms with bad carpets. Slightly cheaper but you could go to a better place to stay. Staff were friendly though. Breakfast okay. This hotel needs a complete revamp and refurbishment. I wouldn't stay here again.
3.2
It had no fan in the room and didn’t want to leave the window open
3.2
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is very dog friendly.
3.2
The room is noisy and smelly
Awfull
I had to look for another hotel though arrived just before midnight

The premises reminded me of Bates motel. once i had this thought in my head i couldnt remove it. there seemed to be alot of smokers and smoking facilites around the area/outside the room there were little pots left for smokers. there were alot of single rough looking people residing in these rooms and in the restuarnt area. not sure if its used as a half way house. i felt slightly unsafe at night in my room as the rooms didnt feel very secure. the rooms were cleaned every day but the carpets were tired, the area smelt smokey, the balconys were very used and populated by the smokers. wouldnt stay there again and couldnt wait to leave
3.2
Looked and felt like a brothel.
Plus strange people making noises

I have no problems with the Campanile Hotel, as we only use it for a go back to after being with family all day. The rooms are clean and basic, bed with clean linen, bathroom with clean towels, desk with TV, kettle and tea/coffee etc as much as you like from reception. Because of its age the outside areas needs a bit of TLC. The breakfast is well worth the money, full breakfast (9 items) cooked well, toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Good startup before a day out. Staff very professional and polite and jolly, all of them always greeted with a smile. The only setback was that they never used cash it had to be card at all times even when you had snacks from the cool cupboard in reception.

Very close to A127 which is handy but it can also be noisy though not the Hotel's fault.Very close to large Retail Park (Pipps Hill) which is useful for food. Guests need to be reminded of the need not to slam doors at any time particularly at night, slightly annoying that parents allow their children to run around in the dining area. O therwise accomodation suitable for my needs.
3.2
Good- comfy bed, lots of hot water, good water power in the shower, efficient staff
Not so good- looked like a low budget American movie motel. Dated and a bit shabby. Bathroom heater was from the ark. Chipped table, discoloured mirror, water run marks on the bathroom wall and a carpet smell that took us back to the 1970s. Pillows and bed cover smelt like they had previously been used by a smoker
Close to the main road so good location but be aware this means road noise until late.
Overall if you are just looking for a cheap bed and hot shower it’s ok, but based on this one would not use the chain again
3.2
Straightforward room and board, fine for my needs. Nothing to criticise
3.2
Very uneven path ways could be dangerous.
3.2
The hotel is a good location for my visits and the staff are great.
3.2
Nice place to stay while traveling through. Food not the best tbh and check out at 12 but maid knocking on doors hour or so early was annoying.
3.2
What a hole! Not sure whether it's because Basildon is awful or this hotel is bad, but I won't be returning. I think this is the kind of place that prostitutes get murdered... Awful
3.2
Tired. Room was very cold on arrival and took a long time to war up. I tried ringing reception but got no answer.
The entrance outside the room was unsafe to get in or out of and I nearly fell over several times. Number 6 room. Outside the concrete path directly at the door was lifted and made getting in and out difficult, a health and safety issue.
3.2
Ideally situated for dogs walking
3.2
It was fine for the money. The first room they offered me had not been cleaned but they quickly sorted me out with another one. Very friendly and helpful staff. It felt a bit soulless on a cold November night but it served it's purpose - an affordable, clean, warm bed for the night.
3.2
The property is very dated. I think they have long-term guests staying here as there are a lot of personal effects outside the rooms. The rooms look clean but on closer inspection, my attention to detail is needed. Breakfast is plentiful and cooked to order. The staff is very pleasant.
3.2
Was lovely room was very clean and price was good would definitely stay again thank you

I was very happy with the hotel stay, it was ideal for the venue which i needed to go too.
The only small negative thing was that there was no electrical socket near to the bed.
3.2
clean and comfortable
3.2
Tired but clean
3.2
At Reception asking 100£ deposit if any damages so they deduct, its motel type,
3.2
For the price - it’s very good value, but it is very basic and quite dated.
The ladies at reception were fantastic!
3.2
The carpet smelled like vomit. The room didn't have Aircon so we almost had a heat stroke and lastly you could hear everything through the walls and the couple next door to us were drinking and talking loudly until 5.45am so we didn't get much sleep
3.2
Needs a good up grade
3.2
Parking was available extensively and it was convenient to register the vehicle.
There's a great menu at the restaurant and the food was tasty.
The reception staff were welcoming warm and friendly.
Overall I'm pleased with how my stay went at the Hotel Campanile.
The room was comfortable and warm and it had excellent ventilation.
It was quaint in its layout with a welcoming porch that was entered into by a quirky walkway.
Facilities like tea and coffee in the room made the stay over night more enjoyable.
There was a great selection of channels of a wide-screen television with high-definition.
The location of the room was convenient as it was close to the where service was good.
The facilities in the room appeared simple but the standards were acceptable.
The linens were clean and fresh towels were provided the stay went very well.
The nearby roads continued to be busy however there was quiet enough for a sound sleep.
As the hotel was respectably convenient, it remains as a place worth noting for a short stay.

Absolute disgrace from the moment we pulled up outside!
- run down
- very dirty
- damaged furniture
- very hard and small bed
- very small room and bathroom
- very dirty restaurant
- very bad service upon arrival
This place should be closed down it looks like it attracts people that are paying for their rooms by the hour! It is absolutely disgusting!
3.2
This was a perfect budget hotel. Looks like a slightly run-down motel and the room was small so the wardrobe was in the bathroom, but we wanted a comfy bed for the night and that's what we got. V comfy. Staff great. No frills.
3.2
Never again! To noisy, to cold and we are in August, you can hear all the cars that are passing on the route.
We had two beds in the room, one was different , one normal. The pictures of the site looks so good, but in reality no.
3.2
There was insects in our room and at 04:30 I was awaken by shouting from another room. Also whilst waiting for a taxi in the car park a stranger on his balcony with food in his hand shouted at me “Alright mate” Not good…… Would not stay again 😡
3.2
Dated and in need of updating. The basin was cracked. Shower control stiff and unable to adjust. Furniture not in best of condition. Price too high for conditions.
Food good but not a good selection.
With it's position road noise was a problem.
3.2
For the £130 you expect some kind of value for money.. but honestly if i view the room beforehand i would never of booked it. Absolutely needs a revamp to say the least.
And the Audacity to ask for a 100 pound deposit is a cheek as the room could not of been made worse if you tried.. lets see if i fet my 100 back as we made the room cleaner than we arrived..
3.2
Over all very helpful staff and rooms were very clean. Property looked to be in need of repairs.
3.2
Room smelt of smoking. Asked for another room which was provided. The condition of this room was awful, with chipped furniture. Decided not to stay there and requested a full refund which was approved. Would definately not stay there.
3.2
Nice and clean, friendly staff, great value for money.
