The room was very pleasant! Service was great and I was welcomed warmly even though I arrived very early. They kept my lugagge safe and carried them to my room while I was still getting to know the city.

Great little spot in Amsterdam near canals, shopping, museums. Walk to train station. The standard room is small, but so is everything in this city. Beautiful, simple styling, high quality fittings. Best mattress of our Europe tour! Narrow winding staircase as expected. Lack of front desk might become an issue but didn’t come up for us.

We had a wonderful break for 4 days at Callisto Hotel. Steep steps to room were no problem as our bags were carried for us at all times. The room was clean and bright due to the care of our wonderful cleaning lady. The boys in the restaurant downstairs were polite helpful and made sure we had a great experience.

I loved Hotel Calisto! My room was at the very top of the house, up a steep staircase (so if you find it hard to walk it’s not for you) with a view over one of the coolest roads in Amsterdam - Haarlemmerdijk. There are loads of cool vintage shops and the restaurant downstairs was delicious. My room was clean and cosy, and the price was so reasonable. I’ll definitely be coming back!
4.7
Cute! Stairs are narrow, but that's Europe, no biggie. Cozy room and steps to any food/coffee/grocery. Also, short walk to train station.
4.7
Very close to center and westerpark. It’s definitely worth to stay there.
4.7
Clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff was very accommodating
4.7
Excellent position above a top notch restaurant and interesting surrounds. Comfortable bed, slept with window open as there was no remote for the air conditioner, so it was a bit noisy at night (ear plugs were provided). Breakfast was vouchers for nearby cafe, but unfortunately this opened too late to be useful .
4.7
I was staying in the larger bedroom- basically a loft room.
Pros- big comfortable bed and a chair plus a bench under the eves. Did have a kettle and air con.
Cons- STEEP stairs, shower for shorter people. Would not have got a medium or large suitcase up those stairs myself.
No lift. No fridge, no wardrobe or clothes storage, only a hanging rack with a couple coat hangers.
4.7
Charming stay in an old house converted to a small hotel. Centrally located, but it’s noisy due to a restaurant on the main floor. The ear plugs managed the noise so it was a good stay.
4.7
Many stairs and reduced space for big bags, I noticed they don’t clean much and the bathroom is separated
4.7
In the center of everything, close to a train station, red light district, canals. Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Check in was somewhat confusing, directions on how to get in will be send to you a few hours before checking in, so do not panic. We left our luggage at the restaurant next door, I think it is the same owners and thats a procedure anyways. Do not stay on a third floor if you are not an athletic person, stairs are very very and I mean very steep, you basically climb sidewise. Will recommend and stay there again but preferably on lower levels.

The hotel is located in the middle of Haarlemm neighborhood. Very popular, lots of activity around and in the middle of everything. Very nice location, walking distance from major attractions, lots of cafes, restaurants and stores. The hotel has a restaurant on the first floor that opens for dinner, so at night it is very busy. The room was confortable and clean, good bed with private bathroom and shower. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. We arrived early in the morning and they happily stored our bags for us until check-in time, even carried them up to our room. Would defenitely recommend and stay there again on future visits.
4.7
Comfy room and perfect for what I needed. Quality shower, a good convenient place pace to get your head down.
4.7
This stay was amazing, the location is perfect and the room was beautiful. We thought the included breakfast at the cafe next to the hotel was a lovely touch. Staff were very kind and communicative online which was helpful.
4.7
For a single traveler it was perfect.
4.7
The room was extremely comfortable and cozy. I also loved the little bathroom, which has everything needed.
Everything was clean. I felt a little uneasy about having to check in using just a web-app, but was surprised at how well it worked.
I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
One small negative was that there was no warm water in the bathroom on my last day -> had to shower cold.
4.7
I didn'T realize at first that the hotel had no reception, but once I got the key everything worked well and I enjoyed my stay
4.7
Great location, hotel room was spotless and perfect for what we needed (somewhere to sleep and shower). I loved the vibe around the place, it was close enough to the centre but out enough that it felt quieter. The only thing I would say is that it can be a bit loud inside from other guests. We could hear every door being slammed, and people running up and down the stairs but this is on other guests not being considerate.
Check in was smooth, and the check-out was smooth too.
Overall, a great wee find on hotels.com.
4.7
Far to expensive for the quality if the room. The window didn’t shut fully so there was a constant draft. Dust under all the beds. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs (and I mean climb). Luckily we could manage but if you have mobility issues don’t stay here!!!!
The bathroom flush wasn’t connected to the wall, the sink had a huge crack in it.
Just not comfortable at all.
Location is good but that’s the only positive I have.
Needs massively updating/cleaning.
4.7
The location was great, it was odd to check in at the restaurant but we had a bite while we waited so it was ok, the mattresses were a little firm for our liking but otherwise it was clean and cozy
4.7
Very accessible location but this property has no soundproofing at all to the street or to your neighbors in the hotel. People yelling and shouting until 4am every night made it impossible to get a nights sleep here.
4.7
Pictures does not show the real rooms
4.7
Very close to the most important sites of the city.
The room was very uncomfortable especially the beds are very very very bad and uncomfortable very painful sleeping situation
4.7
The location is wonderful. Be aware that the mattresses are so so so soft! I also would have liked an option not to have the rooms cleaned every day.
4.7
Great location, friendly staff, clean, small but had everything we needed.
4.7
The bed could be better. Thank you

Loved the quirky room and the view but wasn't so keen on the stairs, however I understand it's typical for Amsterdam.
4.7
Lovely room. Beds very comfortable! They do split in two which inevitably leaves a crack. There is a shelf and closet but no dresser. Shower is good but the temperature changes as you shower. The private bath is upgraded and sink in the room is great. No coffee provided. Stairs going up are fine, not sure what other complaints are about. Nice area. Overall good stay. Liked it and was comfortable.

The location was easy to reach and an excellent starting point for a walk around the canals. The rooms could habe been better equipped: the light over the mirror was not working properly. There was no toilet paper and no hair dryer. The room was quite noisy with all the football fans shouting in the nearby pubs, but I guess that's always a risk when you stay in the city centre.
4.7
Great location on a small but busy street with not many tourists. Very small room but perfect for our needs and for a good price.
4.7
Close to everything. Everything is walkable if planned properly.
4.7
Very nice and avaliable owners and very good situated in an area with plenty of stores, restaurants etc and walking distance from the central station. The room is small but nice.
4.7
The room was way smaller then it seem in the pictures

I didn't like that they never responded to Expedia. I couldn't get to Amsterdam from Canada because our airlines KLM was cancelled. I was willing to rebook in June or get a voucher . I know I had a no change and no cancellation room but this was unforseen circumstances. I'm disappointed in the hotel not to respond to the 4 or 5 times we tried.

I was not able to go on my trip and stay at this hotel and neither the other hotels I had booked on hotels.com. Hotels.com refuses to give me credit for my bookings even though I was not able to go due to Coronovirus. I have been treated so poorly by this organization that I would not recommend booking through them at all. Nobody could foresee this current pandemic and what impact it would have on all people, everybody is going through a tough time, and then you get this horrible customer service from hotels.com. All agents seem to have been outside the US, they always pushed my requests off to another team that would contacted me back and they never did. You are truly screwed dealing with them.I contacted the hotels direct, and all of them were so pleasant to deal with, hotels.com is the problem! The hotels would have refunded me, but since I booked through hotels.com I was stuck with them, and now I am $1000 short as they are not refunding my money. I reached out to the consumer relations 3 times already and nobody has even acknowledged my e-mails. I would never treat customers like this...

The area in where the hotel is is lovely. There are lots of quaint little shops and restaurants and its close enough to the main square, about a 10/15 minute walk. The hotel has potential it’s just needs upgrading and a freshen up. The stairs to get to the rooms are really steep so not advised for anyone that would have difficulties with that. The staff however let down the hotel. On arrival we were met by a lady in the restaurant (also hotel reception) who asked if we would like to check in, to which we said yes, we were then told, abruptly that we couldn’t until 3pm but we could leave our bags. She showed us to the ‘secure’ luggage area, which was a shelf to the side of the restaurant with a rope from side to side which the bags were to be padlocked onto. We were told to remove all valuables before leaving. The self was situated on the way to the restaurant toilets, so anyone using the bathroom could easily access the bags. Check in was very unorganised. We had to sit in the busy restaurant and wait for the staff to become available to check us in and show us to our room. On the 2nd night, I was getting changed when the room door opened. One of the staff was showing guests to their room, got mixed up and entered our room to my horror. He apologised and hurried away. We returned to the hotel later that evening to find our key no longer working. Luckily we managed to catch the restaurant before it closed. Any later, we could have been locked out all night.

Hote was Good enough for me; however the acsses stairs at the third florr were it was my room were horrible. not good for anybody not in shape or with kids or big heavy bags!!! The room was small but clean the heat was very low making uncomfortable during the cold nights I was there at mid November.
Anyway I guess you get what you pay for right?
