I dont like that they restrict the guests from enjoying a drink in their own balcony. They charge for enjoying your own drink while you enjoy the view. One has to be confined in their little room with no tables inside. Why bother then staying in beautiful forest if you cannot enjoy it? The cabins are ok, but uncomfortable for socializing inside.

We reserve the room but it doesn’t clarifies no were if the room has air conditioning… we were so bummed we had to pay 500 pesos a day extra for air conditioning daily

Loved the jungle enviroment. Service is great by all the employees especially in the restaurant. Very helpful staff.

More shelves for clothing and perhaps a chair inside the cabana would be nice.
Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Closer to the ruins , friendly stuff and clean

Good value not expensive but don’t expect hot water or luxury conditions. Close to the Palenque ruins.

The staff was helpful, the rooms were clean and beautiful. I got to wake up to the sound of howler monkeys and it's within walking distance of Palenque Archeological ruins.

The location is 1/2 way between the city and the pyramids. There are “Colectivos” every 10 to 15 minutes between 6am and 6pm that take you in either direction for $1 US
There are also restaurant options across the street in the jungle. So you’re not stuck with the pricy menú at the resort. It’s super well maintained and travelers meet other travelers at the pool.
Highly recommend it.

This property is actually in the National Park. It is close to the archeological zone. It is a great place to be one with nature.

Fantastic hostel. A little cramped though. Perfect location!

excellent location and rooms but restaurant staff were not helpful or even bothered to bring a menu when i went, so i went across the street and had a lovely meal. Apart from that, I highly recommend this place.

If you are visiting the pyramids at Palenque and like to stay in the jungle, this is the place. You will hear animals at night in your room but there were no bugs in the room, very clean. Working wifi and hot water. I was planning to go into town for dinner but stayed at the restaurant there and the staff was really nice and the food was good. I was glad I stayed.

This hotel is in a fabulous location with massive grounds for next to nix. The staff were fab too. On the downside the bed was uncomfortable and they leave the lights on all night long so its a tad bright making it hard to sleep. My husbands swimsuit was stolen from a chair it was drying on outside our room, but I truly think that was the rowdy backpackers coming in early in the am. We still loved the place and would stay again for the price. Beds in our opinion generally are uncomfortable in this price range.

We loved it! The animal noises, the set-up of the place, the cleanliness...all staff super friendly and super helpful. The food in their little outdoor restaurant was decently priced and food tasted good. Bunch of animals and monkeys all over the property! Loved it! First time experience being in the south of Mexico and looking forward to going back and exploring some more. Best deal for the price!

The staff was very accomodating and spoke English well. We missed our first nights reservation which was paid in advance due to bus scheduling issues, and they were able to credit what we paid to a second night. I would recommend booking in advance though because the private cabanas seem to book quickly. Otherwise, this is exactly what you would expect from a jungle lodge. The rooms are minimal but the facilities (pool, restaurant) are great. The bathrooms and showers were always clean, but hot water seems to deplete quickly. The location is perfect. Its within 2 kilometers from the ruins, museums, restaurants, ecomunde, etc. Easily walkable or hop on the frequently passing vans for about $10-$20 pesos. By the 3rd night we were ready for somewhere with AC, but overall staying here was a great experience!

Eaten alive for 4 days by bugs in the bed

Unlike other reviews, the staff for us was nice!
It’s not a place for people who has problems sleeping with noises tho.
Some other customers don’t care and will talk loudly in their room until 4am (thanks d**kheads).
If the rooms around are quiet, don’t worry as the monkeys will also wake you up at 3am with the most horrific screams and will continue for a good 30/40min.
If, only if.. you were lucky and none of that happened to you, don’t worry because the rain will fall on your thin metal roof and will keep you up for a bit.
Anyway, for the price we payed, it was an overall enjoyable stay, despite the critters at night (you are in the middle of the jungle so..)

It is a nice place to stay, they serve breakfast in the morning, not too expensive. The cabana was good, hot water, and private. Saw lots of monkeys, staff were really nice. Overall good place to stay. If you want to sit outside tho remember bug spray!

Friendly and welcoming staff, convenient location and basic but comfortable room.

Perfect location if you want to be close to the park entrance and directly opposite El Panchan for dinner/drinks. No food or drinks served at the hotel other than a small fridge of beers/sodas and crisps. Pool too warm and small to cool off, and too busy at weekends with outside visitors to bother staying around. Nice and calm in the week otherwise. Cabins around the pool looked terribly cramped, our cabin further out overlooking the forest was pleasant, although huge security flood lights kept on all night ruined the "jungle" atmosphere. Great for one quick stop over nothing more than that.

This hotel was much better than I expected! My son and I saw iguanas, howler monkeys and there was an excellent restaurant we frequented across the road. We were incredibly close to the Palenque ruins. I plan to return to Kin Balam again! Highly recommend!

Super friendly staff, clean for being in the middle of the jungle, nice little pool. Across the street from a good, economical restaurant. Colectivos to ruins stop right in front of this hotel. Definitely rustic but perfect for travelers on a budget.
