The room was very comfortable, with newly renovated bathroom and a nice French window. The owner/manager Eli is wonderful, very helpful and made me feel right at home. He invited me to freely use the kitchen and laundry facilities and provided tips as I walked around the old city. The only difficulty I had was locating the property when I first arrived nice the building has no posted property name along the main Street Jaffa. But its located close to the Jaffa and Damascus gates and the garden tomb. I would stay here again.

Perfect place to stay near everything

It was a great experience, Staff very helpful especially. during war times.
I'm considering this great hotel for my next trip.

The location was excellent

Great location just off Jaffa St but also a short walk to Damascus Gate. Very helpful staff.

Perfect location. Easy to reach. Good for both old and new city. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean but very old stylish and a little worn out. Nice little kitchen for preparing small meals and coffee/tea. I stayed with my two grown up children for 5 nights and we all found it good.
4.3
Very good location and good facilities.

It's a small hotel/hosterl, very homey. Not luxurious but clean and comfortable, and very reasonable, especially for a major city. Location is SUPER convenient: walking distance to Old City, right on Zion Square, a block to a Light Rail stop. I would definitely stay there again.

The key benefits of the hotel are:
* location (easy to get to or from by tram)
* cost (good value)
* Eli (very helpful and friendly)

The Owner (Eli and wife) are both nice people.
The hotel. Is very close the Church of the Holy Sepulchre,
City Hall, Train station, going to TelAviv, very convenient. You just have to be patient because there is no elevator.

Nice people. No elevator

If you are not OCD about minor things and you just want a place to sleep at nights while you experience the holy city, then the location here makes up for all the other issues. Owners are super friendly. And the location was just as good as it gets. We were able to stop by the hotel multiple times during the day while exploring.

The hotel is in the very center of Jerusalem. The old town is in walking distance and the railway station is very close too. The room is clean and comfortable even though not very big. The stuff is super nice and helpful and funny. I loved talking to the guy, he never misses to welcome me when I returned from the city. WiFi and everything else worked well.

Property location is perfect. The owner is so sweat and willing to help. Great stay and recommend it. Shower can be tricky but it has warm water and you get what you pay for. Loved the stay.

Stayed here in October and cannot say enough good things about Eli and his boutique hotel. The hotel is very clean and Eli so friendly and helpful. He was always happy to answer questions (and I had a lot of them!!!). The area is walking distance to everything you need. The rooms are air conditioned and come with a mini fridge, which is so convenient. In addition, there is a kitchen with coffee and tea and a fridge to store larger items. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, you will love your stay here.

The best location. The most flexible check-in and check-out.

It was great except I didn’t like climbing the stairs after a long day out to get to my room.

This hotel was excellent. It was clean, comfortable and very safe. The two owners were extremely friendly and helpful in every way. The owner did our laundry for free and gave us excellent advise on the area and was always available.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone coming here. Its a short 8 minute walk to the Jaffa Gate and just off Jaffa Street with tons of food and shopping but very quiet at night.
Excellent hotel.

Property is ok for what you pay, rooms are decent and area is fantastic with many restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Old city of Jerusalem is a 10 minute walk.
What really disappointed about our stay at hotel kaplan was the noise from renovation works (July 2022) and this is just our personal experience.
Hotel management failed to inform us of major works going on at this property during our stay which to be honest was very disappointing.
On our last last night we heard cleaning in the hallways after midnight and hammer drilling usually started before 8:30am, some evenings continuing after 6:30pm. Our stay was ruined by this. There was constant activity up and down the hallways all day, evening and night, phonecalls, loud chatter, banging etc.
As hotels in Jerusalem are not cheap I highly recommend that if anyone is considering staying at hotel kaplan, please get an honest answer from management whether you will be disturbed by renovation works or not.

Great location! Right off the Main Street that has a lot of food options and the light rail train station is only about 2 minutes away walking. This is a small cozy hotel. Rooms are small but perfect for two people who just want it to take a nap during the day and sleep at night. Shower has hot water. Room had AC. Room has a mini fridge. Hotel was quiet and the owner was very nice. Shared kitchen is offered. Lots of stairs if you’re on the third floor but overall for the price and location it’s a perfect little hotel with great service. I would stay here again.

I had a single room. I would classify the space as just above a hostel, where you have a very small room to yourself in a private bathroom. This is a very no-frills hotel. The space is very tight in the room. If that’s what you’re looking for and you want to spend your time basically on the street, this may be the place for you although I think it’s a little bit pricey given that it’s basically a hostel not a hotel as one in the west would define it.

Stay at the hotel was wonderful. Location of the hotel is superb, everything within your reach and walking distance. Would definitely like to come and stay again at this hotel. Elli as usual is always smiling, kind, helpful and at your service. THANK YOU for making my stay memorable.

Despite being in the city center where many social activities take place, it is still a quiet place that one can admire

This is a hotel we have been going back to for many years because of location snd friendly owner. This time we booked through Expedia and our room was on the 4th floor with no elevator. My husband and I are over 65 years old. We should have been told at time of booking.

Stayed for a week. Location is amazing, right across from an open pedestrian square (Zion Square). Located right on the light rail line, half way between the market (Mahane Yehuda) and the old city, both within 10min walking distance. Place was clean, quiet and secure. Free coffee and tea (and treats :) ) in the shared kitchen. Owners very friendly and helpful. Would go back.
