It has beautiful views. Unreal. Gives a sense of peaceful perfect for a relaxing getaway.
The staff were absolutely lovely. Julia was great. She took the time to organise our trip back to the mainland. Very grateful for this.
Food was absolutely amazing too!
It is a bit hard to get to. Be careful about heavy luggage and make sure to plan as much as you can of your journey before you leave.

Thank you Júlia and Oscár. I truly had an amazing time staying at your place. I can honestly recommend it to anyone and if I am ever in this region again, I will 100% come visit you again. Wishing you all the best.

Great location right on the beach, tucked into the jungle. Delicious food and very friendly helpful staff. Appreciated the free snorkel gear and friendly resident dogs :)
Not really a complaint but it’s worth managing your expectations re: infrastructure on such an isolated beach. Accommodation is pretty basic and the bathrooms could use an update - the water seemed to go out in the morning a lot. You’re paying for the location rather than luxury, but the location is worth it!

Being close to the sea
The water in the bathroom was disgusting, it was yellow water. I was ill whilst on the island and it wasn’t helping. The electricity went off at night making the fan stop working, which made it really hot.

Had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel by the beach.
The beach is definitely beautiful and worth the little (and very easy) hike through the island !
The room was quite big and the bed was comft, with a beautiful view on the beach from the room and hammock.
The food at the restaurant was also very good and there is a place next to the dive center that offers good coffee ✨️
The shared toilets didnt lock when we were there but otherwise everything was really nice !

Beautiful secluded beach, great staff (and dogs), best beach on the island and great cocktails!
The bed was a bit hard for my taste

This place was paradise. By far the nicest beach on the island. We really loved the vibe. They have a lot of fun (board)games to play. Delicious breakfast and food (especially the tapas). Julia & Oscar are super friendly and always around to help!! We would have loved to stay longer.
Nothing negative just be aware that there is barely any network so plan your trip there a bit ahead.

It feels like a hostel/guesthouse deep into the jungle. But it is directly located at the small Sunset beach with some restaurants and great people.
The staff is very familiar and friendly.
The restaurant of the accommodation and the restaurants/bars around are a little bit more expensive as the general restaurants in Saracen Bay. But I think that is certainly dedicated to the location and certainly not a minus point. The food was very good. :-)

Really lovely host. She even provided a complimentary drink when I arrived, and let me borrow the snorkelling gear. Absolutely delicious Spanish food too.
Not an issue of the hostel, but remember to bring your bug spray!

This is truly a paradise, I love to stay more but have to return my country. Julia is really friendly and nice lady, I like the way she operates this place. The bathroom is clean, the staff clean the beach every day. Although I come from Vietnam, the Spanish food is delicious for me. If you have small luggage this is fun to take a short trekking through jungle.
Nothing except for mosquitos :)

The most amazing place in Cambodia with a wonderful owner (Julia). It is a paradise and I can't wait to return some day!

Sunset beach is the ideal location for a secluded get away, with lots of wildlife to enjoy also. The host was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The property had lots of potential however there was definitely some major up keep issues.
The hotel had been let to go a bit of a mess because of the off season however with the price of the property this shouldn’t have been. The lighting in the room and property as a whole was basically none existent leaving us in almost complete darkness for the entire night. The water also ran brown out of the taps after the rain, and there was lots of plastic washed up yet no one across the beach seemed to collect it or at least put bins out to use (not a single bin on the beach). A final complaint would be the food prices. Most meals were very overpriced yet very underwhelming. If you’re staying on the beach, be sure to look for breakfast included options.

Amazing food and serenity on the beach. Hosts have a really chill vibe
it can be quite hot on Koh Rong and rooms only have a fan so be prepared for that

Such a beautiful location - we loved our stay here.
The bungalows are a stones throw from the sea shore and there are lots of little areas to chill out.
The owners are lovely and ready to help with anything you need.
The bed was very hard and this did hurt my partners back.
It is slightly difficult to get to and expensive once there - although well worth it!

The view from the bungalow is spectacular, the best I ever had. Few steps to the beach, which is a crystal clear water. There are few bungalows in the beach but Kamaku is at the end, so it is quiet secluded and paradisiacal. Food was the best in sunset beach, fish was fresh and nicely cooked. I totally recommand it. Hosts were nice and helpful. The area is really nice, we could hike to lazy beach and to saracen beach. Totally worth the effort. Bottom line, I totally recommand Kamaku bungalows!
Not related to the bungalows but there was heavy construction around the island, cutting trees to build roads and more projects to come that might jeopardise the beauty of that island.

The location is fabulous. The staff are welcoming, generous and kind. The food is good. Excellent Spanish tapas - Lovely, gentle relaxing atmosphere. beautiful beach. And boxing sessions provided by the fabulous Boo Boo - what a special place! I loved it!
Nothing really bad about this place. If pushed I would say that the showers could do with an update but perfectly workable, always clean and nothing that would stop me going back.

Everything was perfect for me. The whole beach is excellent expirience. Just for chilling, kayaking, snorkling etc. Staff was so nice and area was great. Nothing bad to say.
Electricity is limited, available in morning and evening and no WiFi. But that is not an issue, just to be ready for that.

Amazing location in this remote paradise. The staff is super friendly and the owner is a great chef, make sure you try the fried calamari!
The toilets could be looked after a bit more often, everything else was great!

I had a lovely stay at Kamaku Bungalows. The location is extraordinary, right on the beach and within metres of coral and tropical fish. The bungalows are very simple but comfortable, the mosquito net was very effective, the bed was fine and the toilets/showers were clean.
Júlia and Óscar were thoughtful and made me a special tea to help with a persistent cough. The breakfast was great (the fruit salad and muesli - yum!!)
The restaurant space and adjacent environment are just lovely for relaxing, reading, eating, talking and hanging out - it really is a tropical paradise. Lots of seating options, hammocks and there's always the sand. Not very many bungalows meant it never felt crowded, even in peak season.
I recommend you hire snorkel equipment from the "Cafe" mid beach rather than rely on the free ones (which unfortunately had been damaged by earlier guests).
There is so much space on the beach between each of the 5 places and limited electricity means superbly quiet nights at the Kamaku end of the beach. Extremely restful.
The owners are working extremely hard to establish a new business in a remote location and are doing very well, however, there are a few improvements, mainly in relation to information. It would be great to have much clearer information about the trek in. It is NOT "easy trekking in the jungle that takes around 30 minutes" (information in the confirmation email) - perhaps if you are under 30 and carrying only 10-15 kg it is, but for an older person it's steep, arduous and not advisable with luggage. Thankfully a young man came to my aid and carried by backpack in. I recommend you take/organise the boat option in and then try the path without luggage to visit other beaches (Saracen or Lazy Beach) and then make an informed decision about whether to leave with your luggage.
Also, accessing things like wifi on Sunset Beach are possible, but not straightforward and it took a couple of days to work it out.

It's beautiful place with nice beach. All the people are really lovely and helpful. 👌🤩 food and drinks are also tasty.
My bed wasn't really comfortable, after half of the night i was lying like in a hole. I think it's some memory foam, but it doesn't work very well. 😒
Toilets could be also in better condition, but they working on it 👌😉
Everything on this island is more expensive then on other places in Cambodia 🤷♂️
