Broken shower head holder, and lights by bed didn't work. A/c didn't work properly and only went down to 19°c

Amazing, the location is perfect and all the staff are wonderful

Hotel room was very compact. Could do with refurbishing as wasn’t overly welcoming. Area was great and we could reach all our planned destinations by walking. Bar area was small and quiet. Breakfast was okay and value for money.

Dated and very small dark rooms. Couldn’t fully open the door as it hit the bed. Wardrobes all chipped and marked. Rights had to be on constantly as the room was that dark. Shower was broken.
It is central and easy walk to both Holborn and Russell Square underground. But not worth the almost £500 for 2 nights.

Good stay. Hotel was very well located for what we needed. Just 5 mins from the tube and an easy walk to covent garden, west end etc.
The bed was very small though, defintely did not feel like a full size double bed. We also appeared to only have one bath towel for the 2 of us, though we found another one hidden in a drawer but this was after we'd already showered.
The hotel did feel a little tired/dated for the price, but overall it served the prupose we needed for one night in the capital.
Staff were very friendly.

just a really boring check in and its clear the receptionist hates her job, and just strange check out.

Wouldn't rate this as 4star. We had a superior king room, it was 2 single beds pushed together but they both dipped in the middle. Decor/paintwork tired. Staff were friendly and helpful

A quick trip for a concert. Our room was ready on our early arrival, check in was handled quickly and smoothly. Staff were all friendly and efficient. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Unfortunately, the electricity and water was not available at checking in due to hotel issues. This was fixed by the time I got back to the hotel late that night.
I booked for a king size bed but given 2 singles. Again, this was resolved by the time I returned to the hotel late that night. Issue I had was calling the reception which took about 30 mins albeit they are open 24/7, I just kept getting voicemails.
Reception was slow too. Clearly in answering calls, but also in dealing with customers. On the plus side, they are courteous and polite.
As for the room, I returned to the hotel to find that there were skid marks in my toilet when I hadn’t used it the whole day, having been out. The water was also turned on in the sink. Unfortunately I did not find out till the next morning so I had not bothered to complain to management.
The room is also small and not modern. Bearing in mind it is a 4 star hotel, I think Novotel with similar ranking is a lot better. Double tree Hilton which is just a few doors down may also be a better option.
I won’t be returning. The toilet was a big no no for me.

Great location. Close to two tube stations and many great pubs.

Excellent location, room was small but standard for London, appreciated there being a fridge and iron in the room. Staff were all very nice and they allowed us to have a late check out, which we really appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

Not as good rooms as I remembered the last time I stayed.

This was the first time I had stayed at the Mercure. Check in was easy, the lift to the floor my room was on had a menu for the bar, however when I went down, I was informed they didn’t do any food, which was disappointing.
The next evening I decided to have a drink in the bar. The member of staff had obviously had very little or no training in bar duties. It took him 20mins to serve three drinks, when he got to me and took my order, he began to look in the fridges for red wine. Although there were bottles on a shelf behind the bar. He phoned someone for help, found the bottle but it was near empty. On telling me they had run out of red wine, I decided to cut my losses and go to my room. I would never blame the staff member as he obviously was out of his depth and should have had more support.
Oh, pillows are all soft, which is a minor complaint however, important.

Friendly service, great breakfast

We like the location as it is close to everywhere you want to go in London West End. Hotel is average with tiny bathroom. Average breakfast. Not exactly a four star hotel. Stayed in better Mercure chain hotels before.

The property is small and average

First walked into the room and noticed how small the double bed was. Definitely a small double. Opened the bathroom door to be met with a terrible smell like blocked drains bathroom smelt terrible for the whole stay. The only positive about this hotel was the location.
4.0
Internal room with a small skylight, lights for exit so bright you could read. Light from under doorway on all night.
Bed good, tea and coffee good, breakfast really nice.

Short Theatre break. Bed and breakfast very good.

The location is central and safe. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We arrived in the evening and the staff at the reception desk was not too friendly. The staff we met as we checked out in the morning was nice.

The beds were not comfortable. But besides this we had a really good time at this hotel!

Good location, clean hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Tiny room with smallest bathroom ever.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife was feeling unwell on our day of departure and they extended our check out until 4pm

Lady that checked us in was super nice and let us check in early.
The king bed was uncomfortable and uneven (2 x singles pushed together) so really wasn’t ideal.
TV would work only after resetting the power every time you wanted to use it.

I was bitten twice by something whilst sleeping at the Mercure hotel. My colleague found an insect of some form burrowing into the mattress in her room. The mattresses and pillows are not clean under the sheets at all.
I would never stay here again and have used indorex on everything in my case on returning home to prevent spread of bedbugs.
4.0
Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable bed. Strange corner room where you literally had to roll over the bed to get to the tea/coffee making facilities as no access around the bottom of the bed, but for 1 night as a solo traveller it was fine.

Staff and cleaner were 10 out of 10 .
The twin room was small and did not seem like a 4 star hotel room . The furnishings and desk, wardrobe were dated and dark . The bathroom was better except for the shower screen not being wide enough and so soaked part of the floor and no additional hand shower . Radiator
had rust on and the windows did not close
properly so let in cold air and noise . No mini fridge . Did have ironing board and iron & hairdryer

Booked a double room!!! only to be given a small double ???? (large single) went to ask about it and said it’s a double but it is a small double!!!! So had to pay extra for a double bed, stayed in many a Mecure hotel, never again!! Absolutely ridiculous to be given a small double or LARGE SINGLE for two people.

Small but perfectly formed room. Really quiet considering the London location and the bed was sooooo comfortable. The lady who checked us in was lovely and welcoming.

Very basic, not sure I'll stop again.

Good location close to Queen Square and National Hospital.
Rooms are small - as often in London.
Liked the shower and bathroom and comfortable bed.
