You will need to book your breakfast times on arrival as they get very busy. There is no air con so on a warm night it can be difficult to sleep, otherwise the hotel is great. We had dinner on both nights and the food was exceptional with plenty of staff. The bedrooms are very comfortable and well kept. The decor is carried throughout the hotel, even to the cushions on the bed. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe. The hotel is located a short walk to the main street and loads of shops. Shaws clothes shop and Boots are next door to the hotel, and there is a Tesco across the road.

I was late arriving and the staff were very accommodating in getting me a table in the restaurant before it closed. There is onsite parking which is free and the room was very clean and comfortable, just a pity I was there long enough to enjoy it more.

We have stayed here a few times,on an over nighter this time,close to town centre,didn't have any food so can't comment this time,only issue lighting switches are a bit confusing in the room even though they are labelled,have to turn all lamps of or toilet light turns them all on which is inconvenient in the middle of the night,unless i was doing something wrong

Room was very hot, no air con (I appreciate its Ireland but it was a warm day and night). And if you opened the window you heard the busy road outside! Breakfast was fine but lacked imagination and the sense everything was cooked from fresh ingredients rather that prepared bought in food.

I asked if there was a vegetarian option for breakfast on check in (Victoria) and only got a vague guess. Turns out it was limited, no veggie/vegan sausages etc. What if one didn't eat eggs or mushrooms? (Which I don't). It was a cramped, corner room (319) that I stayed in, and unfortunately it had an extreme amount of external noise. Bottles going into skips throughout the night, along with people gathering. I should have changed it after checking in but I was too tired, but I didn't expect the aforementioned, regardless of the crampiness etc. In fairness Felicity apologised when I checked out.

Well done Ellison hotel! Wonderful staff. I've been to numerous hotels and have never seen one where everyone was so kind, attentive and welcoming. In addition, excellent rooms and facilities, great food (e.g., best seafood chowder I've ever had) and central location with all shops within short walking distance. Though I was on a business trip, I had time to admire some of the beauty of Co. Mayo and fell in love with it.

Great size room. In- house resturant served great food. Service was on point. Yes. I'll be staying again, given the chance. Note: the hotel seems popular with bus tours. Unfortunately these tour groups can over run the hotel.

The suite we were in had a large wrap around set of windows. Great view but the darkening curtains need attention or replacement. The rail was damaged making it very difficult to close the curtain. I had to stand on a chair and carefully bring it along to close.

Beautiful hotel with a cosy feel. We visited for an event and were delighted to discover there was a sky bridge connecting out hotel to the venue. We had a family room which was huge and had everything we needed and more. Tea/coffee making, as well as bottles of water and some biscuits for a little snack. We had lunch and breakfast in their ground floor restaurant and the food was fabulous. We will definitely be back.
