German Village is a historic neighborhood just south of downtown Columbus, OH. Initially platted in 1814 in Columbus' South End, German Village was generally developed between years 1840 and 1914. It was settled largely by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. German descendants at one time comprised as much as one-third of the population of Columbus. Restoration began in 1959 and the Historic District was established in 1963. German Village was the FIRST historic district in the U.S. and it remains a model for all that came after. In the year 1974, German Village joined the Historic Register. Today, more than 1,600 preservations have been completed.

With the cost and increasing inconvenience of these apps and services it is disappointing when issues arrise. Place was thoroughly unclean.

Great location! We enjoyed our stay!

It was really great staying in a historic house in such a cute neighborhood. The house had a lot of character with new updates in the bathroom and kitchen. The neighborhood was close to the event we were in town for and made for quick drives there and back.

It felt like you were taking a step back in time but still had all of the comforts of modern day.

We had a lovely time at this sweet, perfectly located historic house. I brought my grandmother with me, and thankfully she's very mobile, otherwise the steep stairs and slippery bathtub could've been an issue. The bedrooms and kitchen were great.
Overall we appreciated how clean it was and really have no complaints. Plus it was an excellent price, at least when we went in early spring. If you need a nice 2-bedroom house to spend time in Columbus, I would definitely recommend it.

This a great place to stay if you are wanting to spend some time at The Book Loft. You can literally look out the front window and see it across the street and there is a fabulous coffee shop next to the bookstore. Stuart Little's door (photo-op) is just down the street and Katzingers Deli is a short walk in the other direction.
The house itself has comfortable seating for everyone after a day of walking, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean & functioning. The hosts were quick to respond to all communications and left plenty of helpful info inside the house.
Definitely check out Valters at the Maennerchor and try the Jagermeister Wings when you visit Schiller Park. But leave your vehicle parked at the house and plan to walk because parking around town is a bit tricky!

Clean, cozy, and cool in a great location.

We stayed 2 nights at the townhome and it was very clean and quite. The townhome is walking distance from everything: parks (especially if you have dogs), bars, restaurants, and retail shops. I would highly recommend especially if you have a dog-its pet friendy and the townhome has a fenced in private patio in the back.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at this German Village townhouse -- it's easy walking distance to plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, and was a very comfy place to rest after a long day. I did have to reach out to the host to trigger the final payment for our stay (I realized a couple days before our trips that I hadn't been automatically charged), so bear in mind that you may need to do the same! The host was very responsive.

We had a wonderful stay last night. The property was amazing and we felt super cozy and comfortable. We were able to walk to Lindey’s for dinner and then to Beck’s Tavern for a night cap. It was the perfect getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you!

The haus was perfect for this trip - easy walk to Schiller park, Lindey’s, and the meeting haus. We celebrated our sisters birthday at the meeting haus and it was just the perfect place. well stocked, even included some snacks, clean and comfortable with everything we needed!
