This cottage was perfect for vacation with my granddaughter. 20 min from downtown San Fran, 20 min to hiking trails, and conveniently located to shopping, dining, charming downtown HMB, and beaches. Clean and generously furnished. I will definably rent again!

Interesting layout. Good use of space, but no windows to open

Nice clean cottage with everything that we need located very close to beach! Kevin was great at accommodating our request for a later checkout. Highly recommend this place!

On our way driving to Phoenix we decided to spend 3 nights in Half Moon Bay, had never been to this area. It was great! The accommodation was good, bathroom small and sink tiny but the kitchen sink was large so my husband and I used that! Only thing lacking was no wardrobe or closet for hanging clothes, only 1 hook in the bedroom, but we managed and did
like the space and cottage feel! Also right next door fabulous little coffee house, great coffees and baked goods and breakfast wraps and bagels, etc.! We walked to the coastal trail both days and also walked Main Street, lots of unique shops. Did a wine tasting at one shop! Lots of great restaurants close by, within walking distance. Highway goes right by the property so a bit of that noise, but wasn’t an issue for us, we were out and about during the day and at night we had no trouble sleeping!

The cottage served as convenient and comfortable base for us while visiting relatives in Half Moon Bay. The property was clean and had everything we needed during our stay.
The property is easy walking distance to downtown Half Moon Bay and the State Beach (about half a mile).
The host was very responsive to inquiries and accomodating when we arrived a few hours early.

This was a perfect little spot for a family of four. We explored Santa Cruz and the beaches and also all of the surrounding areas. It’s a no frills and comfortable, clean spot to post up. As mentioned, a little road noise but in passing all of the local hotels, I feel like it would be similar wherever you stay!

Our family of four including 2 kids had a good time during our visit to SFO in March. The place is really cute.. one long room with kitchen and bathroom at one end a pullout sofa-bed and small table with high chairs in the middle and a bed room at the other end. The bedroom does have a double door that can be closed but has no locks or door handles. The kitchen is will stocked with essential pans, plates and cutlery. There is no washer dryer. A small strip mall, just couple of minutes drive from the place, had a Safeway, Laundromat, CVS and other stores. You share a parking lot with Granola's coffee shop that serves absolutely gorgeous breakfast in a fabulous setting (closed on Sunday)!!
A few things kept me from giving it a 5 stars-no washer dryer, it's location near a commercial establishment and that there is large dumpster just outside the back door. But overall, we had a good time!!

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay here for a long weekend. The cottage is bigger and nicer than I had expected. As other reviewers have said, it is fairly close to the main road so there is some pretty constant traffic noise.

We loved the Cabin! It has great proximity to every place we wanted to visit during our 4 day stay. From the city, to the coast, to the redwood forests. The cabin has everything you need from cooking essentials to toiletry necessities. The furnishings are new and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The only downside is the road noise, but that can easily be cancelled out with a white noise app, and honestly after about 10pm traffic isn’t that bad so you don’t really hear the road noise. They provide coffee, and the coffee shop right next door is a plus! Sad we didn’t get to use the beach cruisers provide, but definitely a perk. We miss the cozy cabin already and can’t wait to come back soon!

It was our fifth wedding anniversary, and I was responsible for planning the trip. I chose the Cottage because its pictures looked nice, the ratings were good, and it was within my budget.
The minute I walked inside, I knew I had made the right choice. The pictures don’t do it justice. It looked much nicer than I expected, and it was immaculate. Everything is within walking distance, and the two beach cruisers with it make for a fun weekend getaway. I highly recommend it, but I hesitate to do so because I don't want everybody booking the space, driving the price up and making it difficult for me to stay there in the future.
We will be back.

The unit was clean and nice. Tue bed was comfortable and the entire place is very cute. The noise from hwy 1 was noisy as others stated. The other downside was the constant noises of cars parking and car doors shutting due to the busy parking for the coffee shop. The parking is right in front of the VRBO so sleeping in was difficult due to the amount of traffic. Plus side was the coffee shop right next door vs having to drive somewhere to get it.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Loved riding the beach cruisers each day and the great location near downtown and amenities. Communication with the host was smooth and polite. Would definitely stay here again.

I was in HMB for a work event I was organizing and this property was the absolute perfect location for all the errands I ran, had lots of space to make swag bags, an office area to work out of, a full kitchen to cook if I wanted, and my favorite part was the coffee shop 20 steps from the front door. I even used the bike for a cruise along the water and plan to stay here when I'm back in town for another event in February!

Enjoyed eating next door at Granola’s and using the house bikes to take a ride on the beach path.

Truly fantastic location and well appointed cabin.

Property was just as described/shown. The interior of the cottage is even prettier in person than the pictures! Even with the shared public parking lot, being inside the cottage felt private, like we were hiding in plain sight :)
We loved being right next door to the coffee shop. Grabbed lattes & breakfast there both mornings and everything was delicious.
Location was fantastic for us. We love to walk, and from the cottage easily walked downtown for exploring and great restaurants, walked down Kelly Ave to the beach & walking trail, walked over to Safeway/CVS for the few things we forgot to pack. Nice to have the beach cruisers as well.
There is road noise, as mentioned in other reviews. But knowing that ahead of time, after reading reviews & simply noting where the cottage is located on the map, we were expecting it and it was not a problem at all.
Thank you for the perfect little getaway!

Good location, well stocked kitchen and pantry, plenty of linens and towels, a bit close to the highway but all in all very pleasant.

Great Spacious Cottage. Very nice, cute and comfortable...it had everything we needed!! Just a side note.... if you MapQuest Or Google The cottage address They will send you on a wild goose Chase. You are better off Googleing "Gronolas Coffee House".... It's right next to the cottage and Map Guest will take you right to it:)

Clean and easy to get to. Right off the highway.

The cottage was well-appointed, & the 3 air conditioners kept it nice and cool. Road noise others have noted was evident, & not bad except when there were loud trucks or sirens as the main road is right outside. Keep in mind the parking lot outside the cottage is shared with the cafe (and so is the wifi), which opens at 7:30 am weekdays. The cottage was well-kept and clean, except for a couple of notable things. The cobwebs others mentioned were in multiple places in the rafters, hanging from light fixtures and corners/door frames. There was also pinkish mold around the bottom of the shower in the bathroom (which is tiny as noted by others), all along the grout, at check-in. Thankfully, the cleaning supplies were there, so it was sprayed down with Clorox before heading out one day which cleaned it up. This was a convenient and nice place to stay, and great that it was separate from crowded hotels.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cottage. The space was big, open, and welcoming.
It was conveniently located in the middle of town making it easy to go north to the docks and dining or south to the more private beaches. Main St. downtown was super close to go and walk around and enjoy the local tourist offerings. An unexpected convenience was how easy it was to get to a grocery and drug store. We walked there each day to pick up something. Something to note: due to the east access to everything, it can be a bit loud from the traffic, but we didn’t mind it.
The property it’s self was cute and comfortable. Being very pregnant, I wanted to rest a lot and this room made that very easy. The tv was large and the WiFi was fast. Something my husband and I require. Haha.
Thank you for having us!

Cute cottage and convenient location! It was a great stay!!

This was a lovely place to stay! It is very convenient, but that comes with more road noise from Hwy 1 than some people will want. It didn’t bother us since we were very active during the days. Comfy bed and pull out couch was adequate and easy to manage. Lovely downtown and plenty of good restaurants nearby.

The property owners were extremely helpful. Definitely use the beach cruisers they offer to cycle around the area. The ride to the beach along the flower-filled bike path was gorgeous this spring!

Coffee shop and downtown are close. Host offers bikes with trails close by. Host was very accommodating. Great experience overall. Road noise wasn’t great though.
Recommendations: Some basics like offering soap/shampoo in the bathroom would have been nice. We brought our own, but just a suggestion. Also, some webs on the vaulted ceiling should be cleaned.
Again, this place is a great option and offered a lot of perks.

Was super cozy and more spacious than we thought based on The pictures. We really enjoyed our stay and the host was very communicative.

Lovely place that’s in a convenient location to access everything you need near Halfmoon bay. The highway is close by, so if you are a light sleeper make sure you bring ear plugs.

The location is great for getting anywhere….40 minutes from downtown SF as well as Mountain View. I was here for work in Mountain View and the space has a great work desk. Unfortunately no ironing board (but now they have an iron that I left). The only downside is the bathroom is…European (read: tiny). Everything else has tons of room to spread out! If traveling with a female, be warned, only one mirror and it’s a tiny one in the bathroom. All in all though it was perfect and well stocked for what I needed. A lot of short term rentals are tiny spaces…this one is not!
If I come back to HMB, I’ll probably stay here again.

The management staff went over and beyond for us! They were the best. Looking forward to our return.

Great location for my Bay Area bday romp, proved an amazing centralized home base for adventures and angling from Muir Woods to Cannery Row in Monterey.

What a cozy spot for two! Perfect little getaway with my wife, if you don't mind hwy 1 noise (which we didn't) it's centrally located near downtown and near the beach! Next time we'll try the bikes! Thanks!

A list of local channels would have been nice. Otherwise I didn't find anything wrong. It was warm, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom had everything we needed. The photo made the stove look tiny, but I wasn't cooking there so it didn't matter even though the stove is standard size, full size fridge. everything I'd need for a long stay. Thank you, Paula
