A warm welcome here.

A lovely couple running this establishment, very welcoming and friendly. Thoughtfulness is shown by the way they look after you in their quirky (architecturally) old house. There is a good selection of speciality teas and coffee, plenty of fresh milk in the fridge, and a toaster and microwave plus plates and utensils also provided. The bed was comfortable, with good linen, and excellent wifi signal too. Plenty of parking on site.

Very relaxing.

Very quiet and perfect for what we needed. Steve was very helpful and then shop in the village provided the couple of bits we forgot. Would certainly stay again.

The cottage is charming and quaint. The check in was smooth and there was plenty of parking.

Spiders. I've lived in UK/EU for 7 years. Grew up on a country farm. I'm no stranger to spiders. House spiders? No problem- they're harmless. But upon walking into the bathroom of the accommodation, there was a (very) large spider that looked very much like an American Black Widow (definitely not harmless). It was quite prominent on the wall. Clearly it was living in the wooden beams and spaces between the walls. Where there's 1 spider, there's more. We tried to relax there despite the discomfort and unease of wondering how many more spiders could swing down in the night from the over the bed exposed beams? We knew we couldn't sleep on the very aged mattress. Finally we gave up and drove 30 min to find another accommodation that was clean and comfortable. The cottage was non refundable when booked. I booked 4 continuous nights. We didn't stay 1 night. Only perhaps 2 hours? No cleaning was required. Maybe straighten a pillow or replace the 1 hand towel used. I requested at least some minimal refunding. It was nicely worded- no threats or disrespect. (I can attach screenshots if needed). The cottage was not as described (spiders!). Zero effort was made by the host to communicate or sort out. So, host receives £426 for absolutely nothing. Yes, I do see that the cottage could not be rented out to someone else due to our booking, but host could've canceled immediately (and made it available for 2 nights) or at the very least a cleaning fee refunded or even an apology. None was offered. I would suggest looking elsewhere for accommodation.

Cozy, comfortable and cute little cottage

lovely little cottage, very cozy and loved the roll top bath tub. All was immaculately clean, and seemed to have everything you’d need, I only stayed for one night but so much nicer than a hotel room.

not sure about the location, only a 5 min drive though to big Sainsbury’s and town with food options.

The accommodation was the best we stayed in during our trip to the UK. It had excellent facilities and little extras supplies by the host. We could have stayed for much longer.

I had a lovely time at "The Walnuts Country House" I was surprise by the size of this lovely and charming cottage. I prolongated my stay as the cottage was still available. Easy access close to major roads, but in a quiet area. The internet acces was really great and was really a plus for me as I was on a working trip. I will definitly keep this address for some of my next stay in this area. Steve was there for my arrival to show me around. The owner are really lovely and present in case of need.

Great host

The owner Steven is a super host, very helpful and kind. He spent time with my kids showing how he feeds the two beautiful horses that he looks after. Steven provided lots of useful information about Cambridge and Ely which are 20/25mins away.

Last minute New years Break Had a lovely stay at The Walnuts Steve met us outside property and showed us round he was thorough about social distancing as well as making us feel instantly welcome The roaring fire when we arrived was a wow as where the extra touches that made the stay special The four poster bed was so comfy great nights sleep Steve was friendly and helpful when we asked about the local area Had days out at Newmarket and Cambridge both about 30 minutes drive Great Break would definitely recommend Thank you Steve from Paul and Carol.

A newer TV with Netflix or similar would have been good .

Superb - must stay! Fantastic hosts ☺️

Everything about this place was great. We were a bit early and they accommodated our early arrival and nothing was too much trouble to even lighting the fire we put out by accident. Steve and Diane were just fantastic. I honestly couldn't recommend staying here enough. My daughter even left her teddy and they have shipped it back. I will be staying here again ☺️

Wonderful in every respect with the “WOW!” factor throughout the apartment. The ornate 4 poster bed is even more glorious than it looks on the website. The high ceiling & bare beams create an amazing ambience together with the tasteful decor and antique furniture. The warm welcome and helpful advice was exceptional. All the special touches made this an excellent choice for a birthday treat. Not going to mention them in detail so that you’re in for lovingly indulgent surprises when from the moment you enter this character home from home.

Extremely minor quirks that made life a tiny bit challenging for an older person with difficulty stretching. The extremely well equipped kitchen has a corner sink which is difficult to use if you’re under 5’3ft or have stiff limbs. The upper shelves of the cupboards were also very high. In an otherwise gorgeous retreat these are tiny niggles that by no means spoiled a short stay.
