My son and his wife and my grandson, his wife and their one year old baby live in Ventura. The baby's 1st birthday was this year and I wanted to spend a lot of time with him and the other family members in the area. My son and I rented the house. It perfect for 2 persons, two bedrooms, but one bath. The location is wonderful, right near the beach and a state park. The house was old, but had all the electic hookups you could need. We will probably go back.

Home was clean and short walk to the beach.
Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped.

This house is so close to the beach, you can literally just walk to it. However, it is fairly small and I would say not very good for small kids. It’s good for adults and older children, but you definitely don’t wanna bring little kids here because it’s not very kid friendly, but it is a great place for a little ocean getaway, the jacuzzi was wonderful, and there’s lots to do in Ventura. And did I mention that the beach is literally just right down the street? The house is a little dated, but it’s very charming the main bedroom that has the queen bed, the queen bed was very hard and uncomfortable, but the twin beds were very comfortable.

The location is great and the home is very comfortable!

We stayed here for the Ventura Marathon and the hot tub was a must for post race to recover!
The house was in a great location near the beach and the beds and bathroom were very clean.
We did see a mouse/rat in the kitchen one morning even though we had thoroughly cleaned up dinner the night before. Allergies were acting up while at the property which made it harder to enjoy.
We told the owners of our concerns with the smell of cat (allergies) and the rodent issue and they were very responsive and refunded us $200.
Overall, was a great place to stay!

This cottage was ideal for me. Great location. Wonderful patio area. As is stated in the property description, there are some areas that need upgrades. But I loved the old beach cottage feel. Everything about the place was great…. Except for having to deal with the management company. They kept giving me the wrong information. They told me that the laundry was coin operated and cost $7.50 per load. The laundry is not coin operated. And detergent is provided. The management company also kept sending me notifications stating that my check out time was 10:00am. Even after I sent them copies of my reservation confirmation showing the 11:00 check out time.
They also told me that coffee filters were not provided. This is not true. Coffee filters are provided. Honestly, if I were the owner of this property I would seriously consider finding a new management company.
On a basic maintenance level, I do wish that someone would check that all of the lights are working. And why are there three remotes when only one operates the TV?

Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. A few small maintenance things that we let the property manager know about that would not be noticed unless you spent an overnight stay but nothing that affected the enjoyment of our stay. The park and beach were across the street so we couldn't have asked for a better location for us.
The management was very responsive when we reached out to them and very cordial in communications.
We would stay there again!

We loved this stay. So close to the beach and pier and a good amount of space. It took us a day to figure out the hot tub, but once we did, we really enjoyed it.

Perfect location and the space has a really cool retro vibe!

The house was fine overall and in a really good location. Nice being two blocks from the beach and across the street from the state park. But the house was lacking a few things. First, the hot tub was really icky. Brown water ran out of the saggy top when we opened it so we didn’t go in it. There was also a plug-in water fountain out in the deck area that had green stinky water in it. Lots of lightbulbs in the house were out. There was a huge damp load of white sheets and towels in the dryer that the cleaners had left in there. I had to take half of it out and dry and fold it in two stages just to get it dry. Wasn’t happy to be doing that on my vacation. There are scratched Teflon pans in the kitchen that should be thrown out. Also, the instruction for the trash needs to be updated. The trash from the previous guests was still in the trash cans that were lined up in the driveway. We put ours in on Wednesday morning as instructed but the trash truck will apparently not take the trash unless the cans are pulled out to the side of the street. That instruction was lacking so the trash cans were all loaded full and not emptied when we left on Thursday. I hope the homeowners never change the tile work in the bathroom. It is unique and pretty. Also, the one fan we could find in the house doesn’t work. We had to go buy one.
