Our stay at High Windy was wonderful! We were in town for a family wedding at the Biltmore and the location was perfect - only about 15 minutes from away. We also have friends in the area and enjoyed the fabulous hiking trails. The road up the the house is very steep and narrow but otherwise we loved the house and would definitely recommend!

Beautiful property and very well maintained. Only shortcoming is the lack of comfortable seating in the living room.

Very nice property, convenient to East Asheville. The road to house was a little daunting at first but soon was comfortable. Beautiful wrap around porch for quiet time.

The property was great, impeccably clean, and well-equipped as per the property description. The deck was very appealing but we missed out on spending more quality time thereon appreciating the view and the solitude because it always seemed to be 'windy' and a wee bit chilly. The drive up to the property was not exactly for the faint of heart, in fact the steepness and twists were a bit daunting at first but we soon got used to it. Overall we had a great time and were well pleased with the facility while communication with the owners was instant and very pleasant. JFYI the property is about 5 miles from downtown Asheville but it's an easy drive. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from myself, my wife and my daughter.

My sister lives in Arizona & I live in Florida so we decided this year to meet in Asheville instead of one of us going to see the other in their home state. The home was perfect it was secluded & quiet and so relaxing essentially it was PERFECT!! Just what we needed!!!

We had such a great stay and the owners were very responsive to questions we had. It’s clean and in a stunningly beautiful location— feels miles from anything, but super close to the Parkway and easy to get into town.
Beautiful sunsets, nice backyard for our dog to run.
One caution, if you are arriving at night, the road is quite steep with sharp turns and some potholes. It’s less intimidating in the day, but not for the faint of heart (or low clearance vehicle). Otherwise, I have no reservations about highly recommending this place for a visit to Asheville.

Great house and perfect for my wife, dog and I. Reasonable rates, clean and comfortable. The owners, Rodney & Katie were very kind and responsive to our questions. The location was perfect for us, literally a 15 minute drive or less to everything we wanted to see in and around Asheville. Great wintertime views of the surrounding mountains. We would stay here again, for sure. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

This was the PERFECT spot for my boyfriend’s short birthday weekend! Location was ideal for tons of hiking, breweries, short drive to Asheville ect ect. The porch/outside area of this house is what drew us to booking & I’ll just say wow the pictures didn’t do it justice! Sitting on the back porch watching the mountains was a highlight of the trip. Rodney was extremely helpful with recommendations & was kind enough to let us check in early! We will definitely be booking this place for years to come.

It was a very nice place in Asheville to stay. I have relatives in Asheville and we were close to them which was key. The place was clean and very cozy I would definitely stay there again.

I absolutely loved this house! Rodney was so kind and helpful. We look forward to staying again in the future. The only thing to be mindful of is the drive up to the house is very steep. If you are visiting while the roads are iced, I would only drive up in a four wheel drive SUV. Thankfully when we went the roads weren’t iced and everything went smoothly.

A wonderful vacation at High Windy. My wife and I travelled to Asheville for a long weekend and had the pleasure of staying at this awesome location. Nestled in the woods near the top of a small mountain it was a secluded get away that allowed use to relax away from the traffic of Asheville. The house was clean and perfect in every way and the host kept in constant communication to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We highly recommend this location to anytime visiting Asheville and we look forward to another stay in the future. Thanks Rodney.

Would definitely recommend this place. Great views, clean, fenced in yard for the dogs to run around. Definitely bring a four wheel drive, road is a pretty steep incline.

We had a perfect stay here. The place was clean and has a nice open layout. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and enjoyed the beautiful deck. Our dog loved running around the fenced yard.
There is a lot to do in the area without having to venture into downtown Asheville, but it’s an easy drive if you do want to. Rodney sent us an extensive list of recommendations and was very responsive, including making sure the baby gate was readily available to block the stairs for our 2 year old. Our whole stay was stress free and perfect.

Our stay in Ashevill was great along with the wonderful VRBO property (High Windy) we stayed in. As mentioned above the house was immaculate and the guests were great. We toured the Biltmore mansion, road the Blue Mountain Parkway (hiked and saw a couple waterfalls) and experienced the historic district as well as the western (Artsy) areas of Asheville. The highlight was seeing a family of 5 bears no more than 10 feet from the house ! Would definitely recommend this place for others !

We stayed here while waiting for our custom home to be built, and loved it. The location is great, because it is convenient to Asheville and Black Mountain, yet you feel miles away when at the house. Great mountain views from the porch which is where we spent our time in the evenings. The hosts were great, helpful, friendly and accessible. Highly recommended!

We are always so happy to vacation with our dogs, AND to have a home with a expansive porch with a beautiful view, AND a fenced in yard. What a wonderful place! Well equipped and nicely (and not overly) decorated. Our teen daughter couldn't have been happier with the privacy of the lower floor. This would be a perfect opportunity for 2 couples as well, and I've already talked with my best friend about a stay next year! Kim H.

If you're looking for a place to hang out, relax, and catch some mountain air, then this is the place! The outdoor deck wraps around on three sides and is generously appointed with many chairs, small side tables, a grill, and a couple of rockers. So peaceful! Eastern Twohees will let you know when dawn has arrived, and Swallowtail butterflies flutter about. Definitely what I needed.

We so enjoyed our time at this lovely rental in Asheville. So close to city, yet tucked away in nature. We so enjoyed our time on the porch both day and night! Rodney was an excellent host and communicator! Can’t wait to come back again!

I had booked this property to celebrate my grandson's 20th birthday. As I was packing for our trip, I tripped over my cat, dislocating and breaking my ankle. My grandson and his girlfriend were meeting my daughter and I at the property. Although I was unable to travel, my grandson had a wonderful birthday. He said it was his favorite home we had rented and would love to go again. The location exceptional if you are looking to enjoy all the delights Asheville and the Smokey Mountains have to offer. Close to everything. I will definitely rent this property again so I can see how beautiful it is. If it is half as nice as he described, I know it must be a gem. I do wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the kindness, compassion and understanding of Rodney, the owner, whose communication during the entire process was exemplary. On this merit alone, any property they represent is sure to be a lovely experience.
