About this house rental
This 14 Acre private estate is designed and built with the highest quality materials and thoughtfulness in every square inch. With rolling hills, mountain views, decks, and patios galore, a large basement game room, and a gourmet kitchen that is every chef's dream, this home provides a magnificent experience without ever having to leave! Less than a 5-minute drive to Route 151 with wineries, cideries, and breweries and 15 minutes to the ski slopes in Wintergreen!
As we welcome you to our charming abode nestled atop a picturesque view of the Wintergreen mountains, and you embark on your journey up our driveway, please be aware that certain parts can be steep. With the average vehicle and safe driving, you will not have any issues, though a 4-wheel drive vehicle is of course a more reliable option.
Our 3 floor home in the rolling hills of Nellysford is equiped with 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a fully furnished basement game room, fireplaces, 14 acres of private grounds, an outdoor firepit, a chef's gourmet kitchen and so much more!
Our home has 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, an office/studio equipped with a queen murphy bed, and multiple lounge/play areas.

2nd Floor - Queen Room 1 - 2 Queens

Lowel Level - Bunk Room - 3 Twins over 3 Fulls (6 total beds)

Bathing/Showers:
There are 4 showers and 3 bathtubs in the house.
The master is equipped with a walk-in custom-made stone shower as well as a free-standing, claw foot bathtub.
The 2nd floor is equipped with a full shower and bathtub and the lower level is equipped with two additional bathrooms - one with a shower/tub and another with a standing shower.
As our property is nestled amidst beautiful nature, it is not uncommon to have a variety of insects and critters in the area. While we take all necessary measures to ensure your comfort by having the property treated weekly by our pest control team and checked prior to each guest check-in, it is possible that you may come across insects during your time here. Should you have any concerns or require any assistance during your stay, please do not hesitate to reach out to us as we are here to ensure your comfort and address any issues that may arise.
The house is ideally located right off of route 151 which acts as the main road in Nellysford. There is adequate parking for numerous cars with your own private road to enter the property grounds. Right nearby are convenient stores and a supermarket accessible via car.
We have a house manager that is available as needed via phone and lives nearby.
Nellysford is located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains a few minutes away from so many attractions including Wintergreen Ski Resort.

Groceries & Supplies (25 mins) - Greenwood Grocery 6701 Rockfish Gap Turnpike, Crozet (healthy and gourmet grocery shopping)
Groceries & Supplies (45 mins) - WholeFoods, Trader Joe’s, Costco are all located in Charlottesville
Coffee (7 mins) - Trager Brothers Coffee Roasters - we highly recommend this!
Best cider in town - located next door to where you’re staying at Bold Rock Cider (try the Pineapple flavor and watch as they have the cider roll off of their assembly line). With solid weather, you can even walk home!
Best burger in town - Blue Mountain Brewery.
Best fries (and vibe) in town - chill out under the lights at the bonfire, drink a beer and taste the best fries in town at Devil’s Backbone Brewery.
Some wineries to check out - Flying Fox and Valley Road Vineyards
Farmer’s Market:
Check out Nelson’s Farmer’s Market for local products. It takes place on Saturdays 8am through 12pmat the Stoney Creek entrance of Wintergreen and is seasonal from May through October.

Stoney Creek Golf and Tennis: Please note that there is a golf cart path around the golf course that can be used for walks after 4:30pm when the golf course has closed. Please contact us if you would like information on access to this venue. The facilities here include a fully-stocked gym.
Rockfish Community Center is located near Stoney Creek off of Route 151 the bottom of the mountain - 136 Rockfish School Ln, Nellysford, VA 22958. It has a few shops located inside: Thrift Store, Gem Shop, some ball fields and courts, a playground, and a skate park.
Spruce Creek Park - a natural playground and trails (down the road from the house).
So many hikes all over! Wintergreen Resort has hundreds of hiking trails available for all levels of fitness and interest. Look on their website for details and updates on trails. Paul’s Creek Trail has natural water slides and is a family-friendly hike. Upper Shamokin Falls is a great family hike as well.
Ravens Roost Overlook is a beautiful overlook with a parking lot to see the view and magnificent sunsets.
In addition to the above-mentioned places, there are so many orchards, cideries, breweries, wineries, and distilleries that make route 151 a statewide tourist attraction - let us know of your favorites so we can check those out too!

Community Mindfulness - Noise Policy:
Please be respectful of the community and neighbors by keeping the noise down later in the evening. While there is plenty of space to enjoy the home and the outdoors, there is a strict no-noise policy after 9:00pm. Please keep to this as we don’t want any filed complaints. Additionally, if this were to be enforced, there is a $250 that may be assessed. Again, please avoid this!
*We love pets! Please let us know in advance if yours will be joining you on your stay as there is a $75 fee added per pet, per stay.
*No slime allowed in the home during your stay.
*Please note that this home has 14 beds and can host up to 20 people. There is a fee per guest, per night, of $75 above 14 people that will automatically calculate when you enter the guest count.
*Please note that in the winter months the private road to this property can be tricky to navigate without a 4WD vehicle due to snowfall. There is a place to park at the bottom and it can be walked, but an all-terrain vehicle is recommended when coming in the heart of the winter.

The place was great other than a few kitchen appliances not working. Ping pong table was broke also but the weather was great so we didn’t need indoor activities.

The property is absolutely wonderful give or take a couple of minor issues. Would recommend this to anyone. The host and the property manager are wonderful.
