Perfect for us in all of the ways that mattered. I would stay there again if we return. Lovely.

We had originally booked our stay at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, but realized that we wanted something a bit more economical. For a little less than half the price, we booked Hôtel des Coutellier. Friendly staff is an understatement. They were just lovely, every single one of them. The room was great. It was a bit compact, but everything we needed: A king bed (comfortable), a very nice bathroom, a fridge. For those who need, there is a TV, and a DVD player (I assume they work. We did not use them). Breakfast was coffee, OJ, and two bread items (usually, a croissant) and were yummy (Also, cheese one morning), coffee/tea/apples-always available up front. It was pretty quiet, even though near the street, but I would have liked to be on the top floor (no shoes overhead there). Also, free WiFi.

If you are looking to be in the center of the city, this is a half mile walk up a steep hill. We did not mind it, but be aware. The WiFi was pretty weak. The "gym" was more of a small room with some weights (I did not use, but would have if more was available there).

Lovely hotel with all the necessary appliances. Very quiet. Comfortable bed, nice spaciosu bathroom. Helpful staff fluent in english ready to answer all of our questions.

The only thing is that the window could be a little bigger.

Enjoyed Quebec City and our stay immensely.

Breakfast was good. Enough to get us going. The pillows were uncomfortable but overall hotel was very clean and staff very friendly.

Great hotel, location and croissants!

The breakfast lunchbox is a great idea for a hotel without a dining room, the croissants were amazing and it was a real plus-value in our stay. Room was great! What would make it perfect would be to remove or change the carpets.

Abiut everything. The location is great, the stuff is wonderful, but the breakfast isn't that good unless you are a fan of lots of bread. But overall is a good place to stay. It is very convenient and it is very close to many attractions.

you can’t go wrong booking this place

very close to the train station. many restaurants close by. hop on hop off at the corner. max 10 min walk to most anywhere in old Quebec.

the only negative is we couldn’t get a reservation at the Legend, the restaurant on property.

Boutique hotel with best breakfast

The Hotel des Coutellier did everything right: clean, comfy beds, completely renovated bathroom (with towel dryer). Decor was unique, but not overly done. Location: the Rue St. Jean is right up the sharply inclined streets behind the hotel. BEST THING: Breakfast delivered to your room EVERY day (included in price). Croissants, of course, but some additional treat, bottles of orange juice, etc. Uniquely great service for that. Speaking of service, they called for our taxi to the airport (which would be 3 days latee) as soon as we walked in. Front desk people were ALWAYS helpful, and knew the area well.

I'm just not a boutique hotel person, so the room was small for me--but that's just me. Also, even though the carpet was nearly flat, I prefer wood or wood-look floors: something smooth. If this isn't a bother for you, you'll love this hotel.

Such a well thought of hotel. Loved the location and the breakfast served to the door was wonderfully, All the staff were very helpful, we felt very comfortable with very little french language we were nervous about visiting quebec we will be back and will stay here again Thank you Merci

The only complaint was the work on the hotel outside started at 7 am

Excellent value Rooms have lovely attention to detail and well designed. Spacious. Everything worked. Love the wood floors. Double sinks. Very comfy robes. Real dishes, breakfast and delivery style, quality linens. Pretty much everything and all of the front desk staff have been wonderful, especially Justin. Proximity with Legende.

Location, Great Bed, Quiet Room, Good Shower and Bathroom. Very Clean, Good Covid-19 protocols.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking across the street.

A lovely stay.

The staff were absolutely superb and were very helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean.

Building renovation workers starting work at 7:30am but I think the work will be finished soon.

Rooms are lovely. Great beds, comfortable room seating. Breakfast delivery was nice. It is just a sweet place with cordial and helpful staff. Would book there again without hesitation.

Great Location close to alot of attractions.

Very nice room. Service was very good. Asked for few items and front desk was very helpful no qustions asked

First day was warm im room a/c vents were closed maybe prevoius occupants. But was fixed next day. Construction in front but not really a problem.
