Booked online and arrived later that same day. Staff is very friendly and attentive and accommodating. When I asked for a room on an upper floor, they quickly made the change. When I asked for recommendations for a restaurant, they offered some decent options.
We were traveling to see aging parents and we got Covid. Didn’t want to give it to parents so we stayed a couple of nights here until we could test negative. Rates were affordable. Bed was clean and comfortable. Room was essentially clean and had no odors. It had a little refrigerator and microwave which was helpful. You have to understand this is an older property. Wasn’t expecting 5 star quality at the economy pricing.
There are little things hospitality companies can do to show they keep the traveler’s needs in mind. Like most hotels this had the requisite TV, travel size shampoo, soap, free wifi, clean towels. The AC worked well. Good!
But the room was not equipped with anything on which to place and open your suitcases. So you are forced to either lay them flat on the floor and work out of your suitcase there or set them on the furniture. Most people, I assume, just leave their open suitcases sprawled on the floor and figure they can put up with it for a day or two. Can closets be designed with a low platform to splay your suitcase? A couple shelves in there and a hanging rod and you’re in business.
Couldn’t find a Stairway to the upper floors. Finally when I was on the third floor I found stairs down. But when you get to the ground floor you exit through a single fire door and are deposited outside the building. But don’t close that door so fast. From the outside the sign on the door says Fire Exit and it can’t be opened from the outside. So, again, no stairs to the upper floors. You can get down, but you can’t go up. Maybe that’s their main concern here. Minimum safety standards.
Key card entry to that building had a sign that gave the wrong information. It reads: Insert Key Card. But you couldn’t insert your card. Instead, after trial and error you discovered you just had to hover your card in front of the sensor, a green light would display and then you could open the entry door. Maybe at this price one doesn’t quibble about the little things. But it’s a simple thing to print a new sticker with the correct information.
Always think: design should allow a first time guest to move intuitively and safely about the property. Travel is hard. Minimize your guest’s irritations.
Elevator was slow but reliable. Bathtub is likely as clean as they can make it but it’s old and looked dingy. Some schmootz droplets were on the shutters and bathroom door.

The building was old and detached from the main. It was not renovated. When you open the door a strong whiff of old carpet smell hits you. It continues into the room.
Fire alarm went on for about 20-30 mins at night.
Near a huge construction site.

The staff was very friendly. The location was convenient; the BART station is a 10 min walk away. There's a shopping center and restaurants within walking distance as well.
The walls are thin. My room was in the building next to the bowling alley's dumpster so I heard the trash being taken early in the day. I could also hear my neighbors conversations clearly. There's also no curtains to block out the sun.
On my reservation it states that the room comes with microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. When I arrived there was no microwave or mini fridge in the room. I called the front desk and was told you have to order it. ???? I've never heard of that before but ok. They brought the amenities but I would've appreciated it if I was told that at check in.

The staff was helpful and friendly.

Carpets are disgusting. Door entering and exiting the stairs to the outside doesn’t shut unless you slam it. Anyone could get into the building.

Friendly front desk staff
The breakfast was expensive. We thought being a Holiday Inn breakfast would be complimentary/free.
This was disappointing considering we stayed in a nicer hotel similar a month prior and had free breakfast.

Visited for a seminar held a hotel. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are comfy and clean. Empty fridge and microwave- are great! Located next to several freeways.
Would love more chairs in the lobby, there is only one area for a group to sit.

Beds were great!
The girl at the desk said she was only gonna take 50 out off our card . I thought room went on my credit card. We asked here twice so only 50. She said yes both times. Then we went to use card and it was over drafted with tons of fees. At this point we have no money for food or gas in rental car. We had to borrow money from a friend. We stay here every time we are in town. Then the next girl said we are so sorry she made a mistake, that's it! I feel we should be compensated for this stay our whole trip was destroyed! Thank you for your time! Michelle phillips room 225
