The snow removal to get in the rooms was non existing. You had to climb over mounds of snow to get to your room. I being a senior citizen was very scared I was going to fall many times. People were very loud outside the rooms and you could hear the people next to you and above you until late at night.

We were on our motorcycle and the location was perfect for our day rides. We can eat breakfast in the morning and have dinner in the evening that is within walking distance of the motor lodge. There is enterainment in the casino as well.

The room and the facilities are OK, the shower was not the best but a good value to just rest.
The place is old and you have to make check in the main hotel, a mile away. The frontdesk lady, Jen, besides being cold and rude, gave me the wrong room access (I opened and there was someone sleeping inside). I had to come back to the main hotel to get a new key, and I don’t have to say how nerve-wracking was my stay, right? Afraid of someone else getting in my room while I’m asleep or someone getting in my room while I’m out. The city was full and all the other hotels were already booked.

I liked the towels, pillows, and bedding. I liked the in-room coffee. I liked "Katie's" restaurant." I liked how quiet it was during the night, even with the wind howling.
After a shower, the bottom of my feet were blackened walking on the linoleum to the bed, to put my socks on.

Great place and very modern. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice restaurant on site with discount for people staying at the hotel.
Firm pillows didn't match softness of the bed but improvised to make it comfy. We made it work.

The room itself is clean and large. While it's close to the casino, it's not too noisy.
1. The first room we got shows "non-smoking room", but the room was full of smoke when we entered. We requested to change the room, but the woman in the front desk told me there's no other room at the beginning, and asked us to stay outside the room (under < 0 degree temperature!) to wait for 30 min! I insisted to change the room, then the other guy (probably the manager) finally said ok to change the room for us.
2. The front desk definitely needs re-education. When I said we smelt smoke in our room, the woman asked "how does it smell?" and kept telling me that there's no other room. But in fact they DO have other room available. When they change the room for me, I ask where's the new room. The woman said "I don't know." Pardon me??? This is the worst hotel front desk I have even seen. So disappointing!
3. I booked 1-king room, but got a 2 queen when I checked in. The bed size is actually full, not queen.
4. I request to get an upper level room while booking, and received confirmation from the hotel saying "We're happy to let you know that the property has confirmed they can arrange this for you." But when we checked-in, we were assigned to a first-level room.

I booked for Carson Valley Motor Lodge, but I arrived on the local bus which stops in front of Carson Valley Inn. Not knowing the difference, I followed signs to check in. Front desk staff pulled up my booking right away, informed me I was booked for Carson Valley Motor Lodge (and where it is), and offered me a room at the same price at Carson Valley Inn, since I was already there. I appreciated this very much and enjoyed my stay at Carson Valley Inn. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. There is a fitness center and indoor pool. I did not use these on this visit, but will keep them in mind for the future.
The view from the room is the rooftop, but the mountains beyond are beautiful. The casino is full of smoke, like most casinos.
