Shuttle to downtown
Interesting art deco decor in lobby
Staff was nice
Rooms Way too small
Had to sit on commode sideways as knees would not fit in between toilet and wall !
Room is too small for the price.
“Closet” would maybe fit 3 shirts.

Beautiful decor, really nice pool at the companion hotel and great food. The staff was wonderful from check in to leaving.
The only complaint I would have is the room was very very musty smelling. Nice room except for that.

The staff was amazing! They were friendly and informative! Awesome outside to lounge they also have a happy hour with wine or champagne! Cookies, infused water. It was awesome!
Our room felt very humid.

Staff was great. Stay was cozy. Location was very convenient

Early Check-In was possible without a problem, which we very much appreciated. The hotel is in walking distance to all the major attractions, which was really great. We also appreciated the free parking. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The air conditioning is a bit outdated and pretty loud. Since there was no possibility to open the room windows at night, the air conditioning in most rooms were on and could be heard in our room as well.

Great location in the city. Great restaurant and pool and sister hotel next door. Great staff. Front porch area was great for our group.
Rooms are on the smaller side. Older place, but we’ll cared for and quaint.

Love the funky look and great staff. Complimentary champagne was nice too.

Absolutely adorable older property. Lovely porch and a kitchy lobby filled with eclectic art and furniture. The large rooms were very clean. Old trunks repurchased into dressers. Big comfy bed with lots of pillows.
The towels were good sized.there was complimentary lotion, etc. Unlike many places we have stayed, we had housekeeping daily. That was awesome. And did I say imaculate?!
The staff was very nice. There were complimentary bottles of water in the lobby to grab any time. Wine served from 5-7 in the lobby. Adequate parking. The sister hotel next door had all the amenities ..pool, restaurant, etc. available to guests from the Avalon.
I was reminded of old Florida hotels in Miami Beach when I was a kid. We loved our stay.
The room could have used more light.
The bathroom, while nice, was tiny, no room for more than a few toiletries. The shower was mediocre. Tiny wash sink.
There was no desk or table for makeup and "stuff". This made it a bit uncomfortable when getting dressed.
Sadly, they had a hot water issue the first two days of our stay. They did their best to fix it asap, but it did take some doing and no hot water for periods of time.
It is fixed now and I'm sure this was not a normal occurrence.

Great location and staff and we loved the access to the ammenities next door.
The one cold shower was one cold shower too many and while I did appreciate the free parking, there isn't enough of it.

The staff was super friendly. The decor at the hotel is very nice, and you can see they pay attention to the details.
The room has a good size (for Europe standard). The beed was very confortable and the room was clean. There is room service every day.
They offer free bottle water and ice at the reception area. Also, there is free coffee in the morning to help you wake up, and in the evening, they offer complementary wine (you can choose between red, white, or sparkling wine).
The hotel location is very good, you are in walking distance to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
Nothing, we had a very nice stay. Thanks!

Convenient and spacious suite. Clean. Friendly staff.

We enjoyed the friendly staff, complimentary wine in the evening, and the pleasant lobby/porch area. Having access to the restaurant and pool area at the Hollander next door was a very nice amenity. The location is great to enjoy the downtown St Pete area.
Our room was very cramped and older with a tiny bathroom and no soundproofing from noise outside the room. The room was dirtier than expected with floors in need of a good mopping and dusty, sticky surfaces.

The staff and the free parking were the only positives.
dirty, grimy, musky room. We were very uncomfortable and checked out early.

nice location and having the restaurant & coffee shop at the sister hotel next door was convenient. Access to the laundry facilities was greatly appreciated. Bed was very comfortable and I really liked the 6 pillows provided. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very low end remodel for the suite other than the bed. Not sure what year it was remodeled but felt like the 80s. Toilet was very oddly placed - knees hit the opposite wall when sitting on it. had to shimmy past toilet to get to shower. Not really much place to unpack clothes or any kitchen area storage for groceries for a longer stay (which defeats benefit of a suite). Floor was very dirty and turned my socks black very quickly

We had a suite for 3 (my mother) and it was very nice and plenty of room. We were celebrating her 87th birthday and Avalon included to small bottles of Sparking wine which we shared making mimosas for breakfast with family. They also turned down the bed for her as well as us. Not expecting turn down service. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful! Felt like a very personalized hotel setting since it's so small. It was in a great location! Only a 30 minute walk to the Pier and the Dali! The Tap Room and little cafe next door are both lovely (bonus: the baristas make a KILLER iced caramel latte!). The bed was extremely comfy, and the room was well kept! The style of the room was also nice, it felt like I was staying at a friend's place!
The walls are VERY THIN. The first night I was definitely hearing sounds I did not want to hear from other guests. I was right next to the stairs as well so I heard people walking around all night. This is an older building it seems, so definitely heads up if you're sensitive to late night noises (maybe bring some headphones to block out other peoples' rambunctious fun evening times LOL)

very clean and the lobby was beautiful. I loved the kitchen in the studio room. the pool had a clean and fun vibe, loved the music and lights with the bar!
the back of the building was a little messy and unkept, the bed was a spring and felt a little uncomfy at times. the Air conditioning is a swamp cooler and would turn on and off within seconds, getting very cold and then very hot, and then water would drip into the pan all night which kept me up most of the time.
