4.5
Great location, ample space, good wifi, comfy bed.
Inadequate cleaning (kitchen had a sponge that appeared to have been used for several months:(, lacklaster "breakfast" of ancient bread options and not much else, worthless "cutting" knife.

The room was clean and the architecture of the building was very interesting, especially coming from an area in the US without many older buildings. We loved the courtyard in the middle of the building! I am glad we chose this location of the city as there was plenty to do in the area but it wasn't overwhelming with tons of people. The streets in the area were obviously well kept and it was amazing seeing the bright colors of the buildings and many plants.

The location is fantastic. It is in a beautiful and quiet area that is walking distance to the zocalo and many attractions. There are many cafes and restaurants close by, as well as a supermarket and pharmacy. The Frida Kahlo Museum is just a few blocks away, and a large park is also close by.
I would suggest to book the better rooms so that you can fully enjoy this place. I was quite disappointed in the room I booked, but fortunately was able to move to a much better room on the main floor, with a patio sitting area. I was very happy with this room as it had everything I needed, including a fridge, microwave, and a shelving unit and clothes hangers. The king bed was extremely comfortable and the Netflix was a nice feature for my nightly entertainment. The proprietors are wonderful people and very willing to help if necessary. I came down with a stomach bug during my stay, and Margarite was very kind and gave me an electrolyte drink. She also helped me decipher some prescription instructions, for which I was very grateful.

The location was great, a few minutes walk away from Coyoacán neighborhood.
The house is cute and the room we had was spacious and clean. We liked that some coffee was available in the morning.
The door of the Carmen room we had is right at the top of the main stairs which was very noisy: we were trying to have a quick power nap when the owner and guests (?) reached up and talked for a while, we could hear it all. I decided to go ask if they could move away, but before I reached the door, they knocked and were about to enter to show the room. Not very nice. If this is common practice, a obvious DND sign should be available so guests can notify when inside.
Also, upon check-in, the lady owner told us the price we got on booking was way below her actual prices, trying to make us feel "bad" for getting that rate: it's not our fault booking rewarded us with room upgrade. And the room felt nothing like an upgrade, everything in was what we paid for, it didn't seem to be anything extra except the space.
The bathroom had a blurry window giving in the corridor: nice for lighting, but not so intimate for those concerned.

I liked that it was close to Frida Kahlo's house and that it was quiet. The inner courtyard was very nice.
Although breakfast was included, this was just store-bought cookies and fruit, moreover, the fruit was too far gone already so to get a decent breakfast, we still had to go somewhere else.
Apart from this, the hotel looked quite outdated to us. Seeing as we paid the same amount in our previous hotel (a new, modern hotel in Roma Norte) for 2 nights, we expected more.

it was a cute intimate property. I was traveling with friends and our rooms were in close proximity and there was a cute little courtyard in the middle where we could eat breakfast together every morning. I like that there was filtered water available throughout the property. I felt safe and secure in the properly and the facility was clean. I highly recommend the property.
it took quite some time to get hot water in the shower. the trick was to run the sink water first until the water was hot.

We enjoyed our stay at Chalet del Carmen very much - it is located in a beautiful leafy street - a short walk to restaurants, cafes, museums - the hotel was very personal and beautifully and lovingly cared for. We felt like we were a guest in an old friends house. We would definitely stay their again if we are ever in Coyoacan

Everything is clean and as a solo traveler I was feeling there very safe. Coffee in the morning was great! I can't wait to go there back!

We stayed at Chalet Del Carmen Coyoacan during our recent trip to Mexico City. We have traveled around the world and visited many countries and found this chalet one of the best places we’ve stay, if not the best. It’s located in a great area of Coyoacan with many outside cafes, restaurants, local Mercado, grocery store and just blocks from the Frida Kahlo Museum. The subway is just a short walk away as well. The place is absolutely beautiful and is safe and secure. You could not ask for a better host’s , both very friendly, attentive and accommodating to our needs. My boyfriend became sick and they were quick in offering him electrolytes and a thermometer for monitoring his temperature. When we return to Mexico City we will be sure to stay at Chalet Del Carmen again.

Margarita and Javier had been for us the most kind and helpful hosts.
They did not count the time given to us, in so many ways...
Advices and contacts for me to organize smoothly a difficult treck on a high volcano, support in my administrative procedures for the lost of my luggage upon our arrival.
They also connected us with Cristobal, the most kind taxi driver, who organized for us at the cheapest rate, one day excursion to Teotihuacan, and an amazing air balloon flight at dawn over the pyramides...
We had a real, beautiful connection with all of them.
The beautiful and spiritful house, has been for us a home away from home.
It is ideally situated, in a very calm street, yet at a walking distance of everything... Museum, Parks, market, restaurants, center...
We have enjoyed so much our stay in their place, and in this area of the city, and it will be in the future our landing place in Mexico.
From the heart, thank you so much.
See you soon.

Good location, about 10 min walking from the center of Coyoacan. Quiet neighbourhood. 400 m from the Viveros park with its 2K running loop. The bed was good. The room was clean. Wifi ok.
The room was located in a patio. So little outside light, almost as if my room had no window. I was on the ground floor, so zero privacy if I left my curtains open. Due to this reason the acoustics are not good, so sleeping with earplugs is necessary. The rooms are dark, lots of brown. The bathroom was very small. Breakfast is a very euphimistic term for cookies and fruit.

We stayed for two nights in the chalet. The hosts has been amazing helping us to plan our days in Mexico! The room was very confortable with a nice view on the patio. Unfortunately we spent a good amount of our time outside in the city so we have not been able to enjoy the place enough.
If you are in Coyoacán, this is the place to stay!
