The location, the staff were great, room was comfy and large, the shower was hot and powerful. The breakfast was good, with buffet and choice of freshly made eggs.
Arrived early and left our bags and on leaving was also allowed to leave them while we went for our last walk around the City.
There was no tea/coffee making facilities in our room which was disappointing.
The TV reception was poor with limited UK broadcast except for news Chanel’s.

Das Hotel hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Typisch französisch. Sehr herzlich und warm.

Location & beautiful courtyard. Amazing breakfast. Let us check in super early & very helpful staff. Even gave us 2 fans (heatwave). Loved unlimited coffee pod machine
No aircon (so hot in Summer)

Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended. Staff people were very friendly and kind. The location is near the center of the city but the entrance from the city side may be a bit confusing because it is small elevator on the bottom of high-up wall. Unique enough though.

Very charming, great location, delicious restaurant and I found the inclusion of a Dyson cooler in the room fantastic!

A big thank you to the front desk staff for their courteous checkin and to the breakfast service person (I wish I had her name) for going beyond to deliver an excellent level of service. I was working in my room from early morning and came down for breakfast too late. She was almost finished packing away the breakfast buffet, I asked if I could eat something quickly and she went the extra mile to get me anything I wanted with a smile. A great start to my day and such a pleasure to see people so happy to adapt despite it being my fault for arriving too late. Thanks so much!

The location in the centre of town was excellent and the lift directly to the street was good. We liked the age and quirky features of the building. The information and Basel pass given to us on arrival and recommendations for restaurants ( as the hotel estate at was closed due to holidays) was excellent.
Day 2 we were disconcerted to find no breakfast buffet laid out. It was because we were the only guests! That is understandable, but it was a little off putting and took us a time to think of what we wanted. The staff served us very well with our requests, but a little warning would have been helpful.

The location couldn't be more central. The bed was comfortable, the shower really good. Each day had a great start, breakfast was excellent & the staff so friendly. Highly recommend.

The hotel is charming (an old monastery that later served as a prison), tucked away atop a hill in the center of the city. The rooms are relatively spacious and the facilities are extremely well-kept. Each room with a courtyard view has lovely decor and good light, with a en-suite bathroom that’s larger than usual for European hotels in historic buildings. The hotel has a very convenient elevator that takes guests down to street level for many nearby restaurants and shopping.
We were not impressed with the food or service at the onsite, high-end brasserie.

Really friendly, helpful reception desk. We were going to an obscure place on the edge of town, expecting to go by train, but the receptionist advised the tram instead, and printed out the tram route and how to get there on foot from the tram station. Old prison rooms have character, and are comfortable. We did not use the restaurant on this trip, but I know from a previous visit that it is excellent. Superb location up in the old town, with a lift from the square down below for those who need it.
Bathrooms are just a little cramped.

I loved the free bottle of water and roasted nuts to greet me upon arrival.
I also appreciated that the cloth hangers were "normal" (not those usually seen in hotels with one piece fixed to the railing) and the hairdryer was standalone (not fixed to the wall). This tells clients "we trust you".

The staff was fantastic!! Cool elevator to the main part of town. Very clean. So cute and well done. Attached to a museum and old church and has its own little square in front with a restaurant and fountain. Lovely tiny vestibule as you enter the room, a great place for extra luggage, shoes, umbrellas, etc. If you use the elevator, check out the Indian restaurant at the bottom by the square, Cardomom. Absolutely the best Indian food!
The rooms were a little spartan. No TVs or other entertainment, and a bit small. I honestly think they are the old nun's quarters! The doorways were probably 5.5 feet high, so it felt like a hobbit door, but it was cute. The showers are absolutely tiny. The awkward layout and handsprayer made it almost impossible to shower without getting the floor wet.
