Comfortable and clean, spa bath was great
Back garden could do with TLC

This is a great place to stay, and I would stay again if I ever visit Strahan again. I had a whole little house to myself. It was very comfortable and clean. The location was great, with easy access to all areas of Strahan. I highly recommend Tramway cottage for anyone looking for somewhere to stay. The washer and dryer was a huge bonus also.
Nothing to add

Property is quiet and tranquil but centrally located
No basics like sauce, oil or salt and pepper kept here make sure you bring your own or buy some

I loved the cottage, so homely warm and inviting. Had everything you needed and more, the Spa was a hit, as were the washing machine and dryer. I had trouble lighting the fire, so contacted the owner, my call was returned straight away and problem fixed. Would highly recommend this cottage for short term or even a long stay.
Nothing.

The cottage is very rustic but feels a little neglected. We did come in after a lot of wild weather so the back verandah and yard were not at their best. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, crockery etc.
The cottage is presented at its most basic I think, just lacking a few homely touches. I feel that the shower over the large spa bath might be a safety issue for some people. There was no guest book or information folder available, especially for those of us unfamiliar with gas lit fires needing some guidance! For us the location of the cottage was a little too isolated.. Entry is down a laneway in a little cul de sac. There needs to be some kind of light or marker at the driveway entrance for safe access at night.

The cottage was very clean and well appointed.

Clean, comfortable inside. Comfortable bed.
Outside hadn’t been looked after for ages. Couldn’t sit outside to enjoy weather. No condiments(salt & pepper etc) provided.

Very cute and quaint little cottage, well worth a two night stay. Would recommend for a short stopover.
The driveway was a bit of a tight squeeze to get around.
3.9
Quiet and comfy. The gas fire place was warm. Good cooking facilities.
Out side was ordinary. No where really to sit out doors. Overgrown.

Great host. Location. Lovely cottage.

Great location. Very comfortable. Will stay again if available.
Pathway lights didn't work. There are several steps to climb from car park to front door. There was no moonlight and very dark this causes a stumble when moving from car to door. No injuries. Minor inconvenience but lights are there and should work.

The host Larissa made our first night of our honeymoon memorable
She went above and beyond with a surprise at a local restaurant and personal touches throughout our stay. We felt very welcome and comfortable staying at Tramway
We wouldn't change a thing about our stay

Great fireplace. Large fridge which is hard to find. Gas cooktop which is also hard to find shame there was no oven. 450 metres to very good IGA supermarket. About 500 metres to ferry terminal. The owner Larissa is very good to deal with.
The only down side of this property was the bed was very uncomfortable.
3.9
great location
drive way was dirt and had a large puddle in the middle

Cosy little cottage everything we needed was there good facilities and position
Need to leave instructions about the fireplace. little bit daunting if you've never used one

The cottage had a lovely atmosphere. The fire was very efficient (one we got it going) and the bathroom was roomy, with lots of hot water. Larissa was at the end of the phone to help us, when we were having difficulty sorting out the hot water (our issue, not the properties).
The bed was a little hard, we could feel springs. This could be remedied with the use of a simple mattress topper. The washing machine and dryer were a hit, but it would have been nice if there was some washing powder, as you tend not to carry wash powder when you are travelling by car. We had our own soap, but a little bar might have been a bonus. These are just suggestions.

The fire and the size of the cottage.

The surprise when we opened the front door

Lovely accommodation. Walking distance to just about everything we wanted to do. Very quiet and with a washer and dryer - just what we needed! Great water pressure in the shower, and the gas heater was lovely.
Would have appreciated a box of tissues, but other than that it was great.

not a great deal
the grounds were awful, there were two more properties behind us and they appeared to be very run down. Too many doors from bathroom, bedroom to lounge area. flyscreens were ill fitting and flies were dreadful. it was incredibly hot and the fan didn’t work well and was incredibly loud.
The welcome package was 2 tbags and 2 onstant coffee sachets, no toiletries or washing powder.

Ease of use, location, and amenities.
All was grand.

Lovely spa bath with constant hot water.
The Queen bed is very uncomfortable needs a new one.

All the comforts of home.
Difficulty finding the property due to street numering being out of sequence.

Driveway to property was muddy and water filled holes. The house was fine but other units on the same block were very run down. The rubbish bin hadn't been emptied and was overflowing.

Given Strahan can be the windiest and coldest place in Tasmania in the blink of an eye I would have expected better solutions to how cold the cabin was.
It was uncomfortably cold.
Also the driveway in was flooding.
3.9
Very comfortable cosy cottage close to supermarket and town.
No shampoo or body wash in the bathroom
3.9
An extra blanket or two as there were no electric blankets available.
Additional information about limited wifi available

The Tramway Cottage was a surprisingly good spot to stay in Strahan. Whilst it doesn’t boast harbour views, it is well appointed, comfortable and quiet. Yes, as other reviews say, we were a little taken aback when we first arrived. It seemed to be a little abandoned and neglected on the outside, but don’t judge a book by it’s cover and certainly not by it’s neighbours .
Inside was comfy, warm, quiet and everything we needed for a self cater stay was there. We were close to the IGA and could get extra supplies there.
Strahan does not have an abundance of places to eat in the evening so we were glad to have our little cottage to prepare a meal and eat our takeaway pizza in on a wet evening.
The fire, spa bath, washer and dryer were also appreciated.
We found the bed to be comfy too.
The recycle bin was overflowing and needed to be emptied and the normal bin was out on the footpath ( we hope that bin belonged to the cottage cos we put our rubbish in it.) We would have brought it in , but because of deep rain puddles couldn’t get it up the driveway .
Someone else mentioned the mirror in the bathroom. Being slightly height challenged, it wasn’t ideal for me. Can I suggest a mirror be attached to the laundry cupboard door for us shorties to fix their makeup in? 🙂
The cabin will need a paint soon on the outside.
