The house was lovely. The accommodation was great for us two families with teenagers. It was clean and had everything you need for a great stay. We travelled around the coast and very much enjoyed a visit to the Kilbroney park which Paul recommended. He’s a great host and very knowledgeable.

We booked this property at short notice after our original booking in the Mournes was cancelled two weeks prior. What a find. The location and property were amazing and there was plenty of room for 8 adults (all 55yrs+). Very relaxing stay.
Thank you Paul :)

This barn sits in an idyllic location looking down across Carlingford Lough. The position is very private and the property isn’t overlooked. The accommodation is lovely although it would have been good to know there are two cross beams on the first floor that are really low (I’m 5’6” and I had to duck under them). No one knocked themselves out but we all bumped our heads at some point 🙈 Just one to watch.

Christmas at Crotlieve was magical. Even if the weather does not cooperate, the barn is cosy and comfortable and the views are terrific. Paul is a wonderful host, available to help or just chat without being obtrusive.
I would highly recommend Paul and his property at any time of year. The only minor thing I would recommend ( and I mean minor ) is to obtain new double bed mattresses for the property.

The magic of Crotlieve
A perfect place to find peace and tranquillity at the top of the kilbroney valley. It was so easy to find good walks, easy to access the village and to access the sea. The Barn was spacious, five star quality accommodation with a fabulous view across the valley. The owner Paul was so lovely, sharing his stories of this part of the Kilbroney Valley and all it’s fascinating history and guiding us toward the best walks in the Mournes. We will definitely return in time.

Tree lovers idyll
A beautiful, warm and comfortable barn conversion overlooking Kilbronry Valley and Carlingford Lough, above the charming village of Rostrevor. The interior finish is of the highest standard and in excellent taste. Our host was very helpful and informative about the area.
There is a wonderful estate park adjoining the village where there are hundreds of magnificent mature trees from around the world. The Crotlieve Barn is also close to another wonderful arboretum at Castlewellan, and not far from the magnificent Mt Stewart Estate and gardens. A perfect place to stay.

The property is really quite special and is in a great location with wonderful views down to Rostrevor , approximately 3 miles away and Carlingford Lough .
