Nice rooms, comfy beds and great location
The room was quite cold and humid, the heating was on only 1h in the evening, considering a very rainy weekend in February in Scotland. Also, we couldn't use the kettle to make teas to warm up, as the bottom was burnt with milk (!!). Please fellow readers, do not heat up milk for your porridge in the kettle!!

The location was perfect,5 min walking from the bus station and shops/restaurant.
3.6
The location was close to the high street.
We requested a vegetarian breakfast and they just put some beans, a raw egg and 4 mushrooms on our plate. The food was also cold. The shower was either freezing cold or extremely hot, so it was almost impossible to have a relaxing shower after a trek or a hike.

good location, quiet, comfortable bed, nice having your own kettle and complimentary coffee, biscuits etc
Couldn’t lock the front door! It shouldn’t be that difficult to do - creates a safety issue. Also the handle on the bathroom sink kept falling off which was incredibly annoying - again, this should be a given.

We didn't stay because it was inhabitable, I emailed Bookings.com twice and also called and emailed the manager requesting a refund. The place smelt like disinfectant, the bed was not properly made, the mattress was not covered, it was dirty, not at all what it was advertised as. I am extremely disappointed that bookings.com has not responded, I've use their service many times and never had a problem, but this place was horrid. I am requesting a refund please.

Great location couple of minutes walk to the town centre and 5mins from the station, yet it was quiet around there. I called ahead and was able to check in early which was great. I was in room 1. Lovely comfortable small room. Good shower with soap and shampoo. I had to leave earlier than breakfast was served, but was encouraged to help myself to bread/toast, cereal and juice and yogurt from the fridge in the dining room before I left. I really liked it there and would stay again.
The radiator was on and it was hot in the room,. The radiator dial was missing so I couldn't turn the heat down, but it wasn't on all night. - as a solo female on the 1st floor I didn't want to leave the window open. The bed was squeaky.

Room was warm, had everything you would want/need. Plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Nice change, proper kettle. Dining room everything was laid out, just helped yourself. No one there to explain the procedure but not rocket science to work it out. Small place, few rooms, quiet. Had an e mail about how to access the house and room keys as no reception or check in.
Bathroom was a little dirty in places, just a few marks. Holder for hand-wash was dirty and plug hole.

I don’t normally provide reviews (like ever) but I can’t stress this enough- the room we stayed in smelled terrible. I could not figure out if it was from cats or mouldy smelling wood/ mixed with the smell of garlic ?We could not air out the room. On top of that the room was not clean. there was a thick layer of dust on the surfaces next to the window (against the bed), hair in the bathroom and dead flowers in the window. Lastly we were told that breakfast was served between the hours of 8 to 9. My husband and I came down at 845, a little later than we had planned, after not having the most comfortable sleep with the smell, and were informed we were late and to next time make sure we came down at 8am. Needless to say we did not stay a second night.
smell***,service, cleanliness
