Stay was everything we needed.

Staff excellent, restaurant excellent. Nothing was too much for the staff.Bedroom and bathroom clean and well equipped. Bid car park, instructions to get to it helpful and complete

Truthfully, nothing we didn’t like. Stayed for a couple of nights last year and we were as enthusiastic then. Clearly the whole group were knowledgeable and helpful.

Perfect location but the overall experience did not live up to our expectations.

The location was perfect and provided you arrived at the right time you could find a parking space. Our room was also lovely and spacious.

Very noisy in the evening as our room overlooked the pub garden . I thought the room was over priced.

a beautiful place, delicious food, we will return

very stylish and convenient for both the town and Dartmoor. the rooms are beautiful

a lot of traffic noise at the front of the property, but ear plugs are provided which helped. it was very warm weather when we stayed but couldn’t really have the windows open due to the traffic noise

Little gem, great restaurant with great atmosphere

Location perfect for the town, breakfast good (although the decaf tea wasn’t great). Fab quality evening meal, buzzy restaurant, bedroom lovely , clean and classy. Staff very good . Really very pleasantly surprised

The accommodation was excellent value. The food is expensive but very good.

The room was clean and in pristine condition, better than I expected for the price I paid. Breakfast was good, I had the Full Cornish on one day and the smoked salmon and egg the other. Real ale on draught was a choice of three from St. Austell Ales.

The Wifi speed was good, however it required me to log in to the hotspot much too frequently. Occasionally it just didn't work and I resorted to 4G. I travelled there in an electric vehicle. Mid Devon is unfortunately a desert for EV charging. A 7kW or 11kW charger in the car park that can be booked overnight would have made my planning easier.

What can I say? The whole experience was excellent in every way.

I have stayed here before and would thoroughly recommend staying for someone else. Everything is clean and well looked after. The staff are very polite. It was a pleasure!

Superb

The Hotel was warm and cosy, the rooms fabulous and the evening meal and breakfast was exceptional..

The only downside was that there was a fan outside that we could hear all through the night. The cleaner supplied ear plugs for the second night 😊

Amazing stay

Breakfast was so nice, we had an evening meal in the restaurant, both having fish and chips, this was one of the tastiest fish and chips we’ve had, and the home made tartar sauce and mushy peas were both delicious. The location was spot on and the room and bathroom were decorated to a high standard.

Excellent attentive and friendly staff.

Prefer a small (given the size of room) wardrobe rather than look at hanging clothes for three days. Again, staying for 3 nights we like to unpack rather than live out if a suitcase, so a chest of drawers would have been useful.

Exceptional food

The rooms were small but clean. The added touch of some luxury toiletries and a nespresso coffee machine. The food was out if this world absolutely delicious def Michelin starred. One of the best meals both myself and my husband have had.

Beautiful place and the breakfast was delicious.

The only negative was the 10am check out, could have made it 11am, seeing as check in was 3pm.

Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff . Very clean bedroom and bathroom.

Very noisy outside bar which we were just above. Double glazing helped - and the thoughtfully provided earplugs. Best avoid 'Toad' room at weekends.
