About this house rental
Totally relax, unwind, and breathe while listening to the sound of the waves at picturesque Holly's Beach Folly.
This exquisite location, directly on the beach with accessible water (for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking, fishing, and more) and right across the bay from Buck Island, is privately nestled next to the St. Croix Yacht Club on the quiet East End. There are uninterrupted water views from the main, open concept living area of the house, the upper floor bedroom suite with deck (reached by a circular staircase), and from the wrap around deck by the house entrance. Sitting on the wide, outside galley next to a locally artist-painted blue vinca wall, around one of the bar-height tables on swivel chairs, you can enjoy your morning coffee, a meal, snacks, beverages, read, or enjoy watching soaring pelicans, lazy sailboats (or sometimes sailboat competitions!), listen to the singing waves, feel the breezes, and soak in the sun. The free-form pool is a few steps below this deck and surrounded by native vegetation that attracts sugar birds (bananaquits), hummingbirds, butterflies, and song birds. As you relax in one of the several lounge chairs around the pool, you'll be lulled by the sound of the waves and wrapped in complete privacy. Feeling adventurous? A few steps down and over the grassy front yard, and you're on your own sandy beach where you can easily play in the sand or just sit in the Sea. You can snorkel, scuba, kayak, swim, or fish right off the beach in Teague Bay, which is a protected area, and where you often see conch and local starfish, sea turtles, local fish, and sometimes very large tarpon which swim close to the shore (and are also protected). Holly's is elevated above the level of the beach so there are about 10 steps leading up to the house and also about 10 steps down to the beach.
In the house, there are two bedroom suites on either side of the open concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry area. The bedroom on the right features a king-sized bed and an outstanding rock wall. The bedroom on the left of the entrance can offer either a king-sized bed or two twin beds. Both bedrooms have a full-ensuite bathroom. The upstairs suite has a king-sized bed, a jetted deep soaking tub with a garden view in the large bathroom, along with double sinks, and a generous, walk-in, fully tiled shower. The lovely deck off this bedroom overlooks the Sea and with the large double doors open in the evening, you can listen to the waves as you fall easily to sleep! Spectacular sunrises and sunsets reflecting over the water are lovely to observe here as you privately welcome the day with a cup of coffee or reflect on the the day with a glass of wine.
On the main floor, the dining room showcases a locally painted mural of life in St. John, and easily accommodates 8 diners. The modern, fully appointed kitchen with granite countertops has a dishwasher, along with a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, and a solid mahogany back door which opens to a small walkway area with an outdoor, propane, barbecue grill. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer for your use, off the kitchen and dining room. Next to the dining room is the great room featuring a rock wall back-drop, a large, wrap around couch, several chairs and lamps, a TV, DVD player, Wifi, and other electronics, puzzles, cards, games, and a small library. Extra tables are in the living room to catch your towels, sunscreen, beach finds, maps, do puzzles, or to just sit by and enjoy the view.
There is a spectacular Castle up on the mountain top across the street that you can see from the living room, twin bedroom, and the front deck. If you like to jog or hike, you can just go out your front door and along Mooring Road or drive about a mile to Cramer's Park, on the way to Point Udall (eastern-most point of the United States), park and you can be on a fairly flat, seldomly used black-topped road. There you will also see a giant satellite dish, 1 of very few in the world, called the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) which is the sharpest telescope on Earth or in Space. You will have access to Isaac's Bay and Jacob's Bay (in that area) which have great hiking trails to spectacular beaches and snorkeling where you will most likely be the only people there.
While you are about 15 minutes from Christiansted at this location, you do have wonderful restaurants (Duggan's, The Blue Water Terrace, The Cultured Pelican, and The Divi Starlight), a Casino, and a golf course within a mile or two and a nice mini-market gas-station (Ziggy's) less than 5 minutes away. From the Yacht Club you can charter a boat for a full or half day of sailing and snorkeling at Buck Island, or rent a day-sailer. You can also choose a deep-sea fishing expedition, go inshore fishing, rent a kayak, go windsurfing or paddle boarding, or horseback riding by calling some of the local businesses on your brochures or listed in St. Croix This Week, just to name a few other possible options.
This is just a lovely oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life where you can lean back and let go of all your cares and worries. Holly's Beach Folly is waiting to welcome you with open arms and help you enjoy the vacation of your dreams.

Very nice house and location. Has a certain "homey" feel compared to some purely rental property houses. No AC in the main area could be rough if the weather were any warmer but it was fine for us with windows open and fans.

This a great house with an awesome view overlooking the pool to the ocean. Pool is shaded in the heat of the day which makes swimming ideal. All the bedrooms are large in size with private baths. Kitchen is well supplied and large enough for several people to work when preparing the evening meal. Morning and afternoon breezes enter through the many windows on the east side of the house to keep the house very comfortable during the day. Communication with the property owner and manager were outstanding to make sure our stay was great. An easy 10-minute drive to Christiansted for shopping and great restaurants or dine at the Yacht Club next door. I would stay at this house again.

This was the most relaxing vacation we have had! I love my A/C and even though this property had A/C in the bedrooms, I was concerned that it didn't have it in the living areas. The combination of the windows with screens, beautiful consistent breeze and the shade available on the various outside spaces made it so I didn't notice. Add to it that there is a private pool and the beach a few steps away, it was heaven. I will definitely go back.
The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed. I like to cook and with the food prices on St. Croix it is nice to have the option. There are a few things that could stand to be updated, bathroom cabinets and stove, but we really enjoyed the character of the architecture. It added to the island vacation experience and our ability to relax.
Sarah, the property manager, was very helpful and met us at the property. She offered to meet us at the airport, but we had a couple of stops we wanted to make on our way to the property. Thank you for sharing you home with us!

The house and property was such a fun experience for our family. The location is perfect for island living! Highly recommend staying here!

This was my family's third stay here. It has everything we want in a winter get away. Privacy but convenient access to restaurants and groceries. The views are marvelous. The beach is small but pretty private and mostly quiet (unless the marina next door is giving sailing lessons) and there's another beach very close by car that is lovely too. Or lazing around the pool is another fabulous option. Restaurants are very good and the local lobster is surprising inexpensive. The house is charming with plenty of room for us and comes with all the things we need in the kitchen. They even leave condiments, liquor, canned goods, tea and the like that others have left at the end of their stay. The island is easy to get around by car (Waze worked perfectly). There were a few small things that needed repair which the owner was eager to know about so she could attend to them.

Wonderful property, well maintained. Pool area and beach area very entertaining for the 7 year old with us. Nice yard for adventuring and neighborhood was great for evening strolls. Do not miss Sunday Brunch at Ziggys!

Everything from the trip planning with the owner to arriving at the house was by far the best experience I have had using VRBO. The house plus consistent kindness and responsiveness of the owner pushed the property over the top for my entire family. As long as we are renting on the island we will only come back here.

We had the best trip! It was our first time here and this house was perfect. It was so clean and so well stocked! The view is so beautiful! Waking up every morning to that gorgeous blue water and enjoying the breeze every night. We snorkeled in front of the house a few times. We found conch and saw some fish. We also saw lots of sea turtles! We also had an iguana visit us by the pool! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this house and this island to everyone!

The space was very accommodating for 5 of us total. We really enjoyed the pool, private beach, and quiet location. The kitchen was perfect to prepare meals. We felt close to restaurants and anything we needed. It was a pleasure staying here and would do so again. :)

Due to a canceled flight, we got stuck in Puerto Rico and never made it to St. Croix. That said, Holly was such thoughtful, responsive host from the moment we booked our stay. She provided us with very clear details about the property as well as a wealth of information about the island. And then when our flight got canceled, Holly was thoughtful and supportive. She has set a high bar for other VRBO hosts!

This was a fantastic location and the owner and property manager were very responsive and informative. The home was clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was especially nice having 3 bedrooms each having their own bathroom. The pool was refreshing. The kitchen had a dishwasher, coffee maker and was well stocked for cooking your own breakfasts / dinners. My only "wish" was the the entire home had air conditioning. However, each bedroom did have their own air-conditioning units which helped for sleeping at night. The Wi-Fi service was a bit spotty (part of the deal on the island). Overall, I would highly recommend this home on the beach, especially the kind owner Holly and her quick responses and advice about the island. :-) Thank you for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise. :-)

What a wonderful property!! The location was perfect, the house was perfect, the pool was perfect and we loved the beach area and view of the marina. In addition, we had easy access to Christiansted and all the OUTSTANDING restaurants on the East end.
Holly was the most communicative owner I have ever encountered with a property. She actually cared that our stay was perfect. We go to St Croix at least yearly and and if this home is available I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Sara the property manager on island was very responsive ( although we had no needs because the property was STUPENDOUS).
Although I have nothing negative to say about the property, if someone has mobility issues, this may not be the property for them because of the hills on the property. This is also what makes the house, property and view great!

Fantastic house to use as a base to explore St. Croix. Very good restaurants close by and the property manager Sara was great to give suggestions for everything we wants to see and experience. We would definitely stay here again when returning to St. Croix.

Second time we have stayed here and just as wonderful as the first. So well stocked, so comfortable and roomy, such incredible views. Perfect location near good restaurants. Got to see the moon rise at Udall Point.

Nothing but amazing things to say. Great communication, support, and the house was perfect. Big bedrooms, great pool, nice kitchen. East end of the island but so close to christiensted. Dining nearby was amazing. Ziggys, Duggens, blue terrace and cheeseburgers In American paradise were all so great and with 5 minutes.
Walk down to your own private beach and watch the sea turtles.
We will 100% be back as we look for property of our own. Thank you for helping make this family vacation amazing.

It is difficult to know where to begin to describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Holly's. Beginning with the host, she is perhaps the most responsive and communicative person I have ever dealt with. Her local caretakers (Sara & Jonathan) are equally helpful and responsive. The property was everything as described in the photos and the narrative. It was clean and well equipped and ideally located. Staying here you are only a short drive from the majority of restaurants and resorts and points of interest. We had only one minor question about the house after checking in and our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The private pool and semi-private beach are a definite bonus to the already vast amenities this property has to offer. The view is stunning and the house is comfortable and homey. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone else.

Excellent! Only comment would be that some high dusting and decluttering of closets would be good.
Beautiful location and property manager was awesome!!

The house and property is amazing! The views from the house were breath taking! The pool is larger then it appeared in the pictures and very nice. Honestly, the pictures on the website don’t do the property justice. They fail to portray the true beauty of the property.
The property owner was very accommodating and an excellent communicator. She answered all of our question promptly. The kitchen was well stocked with any kind of dish, pot, pan, appliance, or utensil you could need. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The house was equipped with everything you would ever need for a day at the beach: coolers, bags, chairs, boogie boards, snorlking equipment, sand toys and towels.
My biggest complaint is that I wish I booked it longer. I would absolutely rent this property again in a second! Thank you so very much Holly! You helped us have a very special place for our wedding.

This was a wonderful vacation for the family. The house is beautiful and a wonderful location. Pictures and description were spot on, and even more wonderful of course when you were there. Communication was great and they went above and beyond so we could enjoy our stay. We had such a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay very much. I highly recommend, thank you Holly!

Hollys Folly was PERFECT for our girls trip! It hd everything we needed and the place had everything we needed. Or hosts were most accommodating and extremely responsive throughout our entire trip! I 100% recommend staying here if you are looking for a true St. Croix "non-resort" experience!

It is a beautiful place with a mostly secluded beach, a great pool and beautiful views. With the water being from a cistern the shower water goes cold and has a slow flow very quickly. The house is open air in the living spaces with air conditioning in the three bedrooms. You adapt very quickly to the open air and you can retreat to the bedrooms if you do start to warm up. Other than those two things you can’t ask for a more amazing house. The owners were very friendly and helpful and they also have a couple on the island that handle any issues and maintenance and they are also great. The property is on the east end which allows for short drives to some good restaurants and grocery stores but is still secluded and feels private.

Everything about the place was exactly what we wanted. Secluded but close enough to the city.

Hated to leave Holly’s Folly!!!
Great house, wonderful location. Manager most helpful. Loved the beach chairs, beach towels, beach bags. Nice to have Roku. Enjoyed pool and beach. Thrilling to see turtles swimming each day. Washer and dryer huge! Nice to have a gas grill.

Location of this property is absolutely perfect- away from congestion of the city, but not too far to go into town. The house is beautiful, pool ehh, but overall would return to this very spot!!!****

Second stay, as much fun as the first!
Great view, private pool, provide a 'provisioning service' so you can have food in the fridge when you arrive. When our party got separated by flight cancellation, Sara (local manager of property) drove part of our party from the airport to the property -- and even stopped at the grocery store for an extra troop since our person with rental car was delayed for a couple days. Great personalized service.

We had an amazing week at this property. The house was immaculately clean, well stocked and in a safe location. St.Croix is a beautiful island. Rental car is a must. Property manager communicated well and promptly. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 😊

Amazing
The house was spacious, supplied with literally anything you could need for your stay! If I could rate that it would be 10 stars!!
The host was super helpful and even met us at the airport to help us thru everything, From the car rental to getting us to the house!
The gorgeous view with direct access to the small beach as well as the pool with plenty of room to enjoy the sun!

Not a Folly at all!
Had a lovely week at Holly’s “Folly”. Great location near many good restaurants. Lovely private beach and pool. House was perfect with every amenity and lots of privacy between the three bedrooms. Food shopping was convenient with a couple of smaller stores pretty nearby but go a little further to Plaza East and you can pretty much find anything you would in the U.S.
We couldn’t have found a more helpful accommodating host with lots of info provide before we got there to help with our planning.
Our only negatives were we weren’t warned about the sea grass so didn’t have our water shoes (I’m a little squeamish about walking on it) and being next to the yacht club we had quite a bit of noise from the clanging of the rigging on masts on windy days and the yelling of the teachers on days when the sailing school was in session. Bothe those things marred what was otherwise an extremely private and quiet location.
We didn’t do much other than eat, read, swim and relax other than the short ride to Point Udall and Cramer Beach which was lovely.

The BEST Island vacation ever!
We were welcomed to Holly's Beach Folly, a gorgeous villa, by a "Double Rainbow" over the private beach while standing on the veranda, simply amazing! Great accommodations, everything provided for including beach bags and towels, beach chairs, shopping bags and a well-furnished kitchen. A wonderful place to relax & enjoy this beautiful island paradise. The best get-away ever! Thank you to Sara, the property manager, for meeting us at the airport, guiding us to the villa & shopping for our groceries for our 1st evening there. We hope to return to the island of St. Croix again and will definitely plan to stay at Holly's Beach Folly again!! Highly recommended by far!

Wonderful East End Gem
Absolutely loved Holly's Beach Folly in St. Croix. Pictures really don't do it justice. Everything about the villa on the east end was perfect for our family and a winter get-away.

Documenting the Debauchery
Overall a great stay. Unfortunately the master bathtub was out of order because it was gong to get serious with me and my woman in there. The house is great, the weather is volatile and rains once a day at the minimum which means you need to be on the open windows and Jeep drop top at any given moment. The pool is amazing and feels great so enjoy!! The beach access is legit but there is a sand flea situation so plan accordingly. The views are amazing and definitely take the trip to Buck island which you can see from the balcony. The sunrises in the master bedroom are worth waking up for. Marley (allegedly) stopped by but would not eat the ribeye we prepared for her so maybe it wasn’t Marley? Imposter???

Awesome experience
We came to this property to have a small wedding. The property manager was extremely helpful. She gave us numbers for an officiant and a caterer. She even came to take the pictures while we were in the wedding. We had a beach wedding at the properties beach. Perfect day!!! The bride was happy with the barefoot wedding! The house is beautiful and clean and the pool was fabulous. We will definitely come back again. Thank you Holly and Sarah!!!

The good and the bad
Great property and location but we were broken into and robbed. The six of us went out for 2 1/2 hours on a Sunday and came home to find all of our things were gone through. We lost cell phones, lap tops, wallet and cash. They came in through a back bedroom window. The authorities on the island are useless, they said there was nothing they could do, not worth looking into. We believe we had to have been watched, waiting for us to leave. The cameras installed on the property are dummies, there is NO video surveillance.

Absolutely Amazing!
We arrived in St. Croix on Monday afternoon and Sara met us at the airport and helped us navigate getting our rental car. Then we were off to Holly's. Following Sara was very helpful as driving on the left side of the road takes so getting used to.
Sara was kind enough to let us stop at the grocery on our way to pick up a couple of items, however, I would recommend using their provisionary service as it was quite a bit hectic for our first day. When we arrived at Holly's we truly felt like we had landed in paradise!! What an incredible house, grounds and views! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and relaxing place. The place was well equipped and has everything you need.
During the booking process, Holly was so helpful and responsive. She made it so easy!
Sara was also wonderful to work with and readily available to answer any questions. She even brought over some swim ear for our son when we couldn't find a pharmacy open on Sunday!!
I would highly recommend staying here!!
