Below you will find details about our 4 bed/ 4 bath vacation home, The Grande House PLUS STUDIO, located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Ocean Beach just a few blocks from Sunset Cliffs!

This lovely large home with it's spacious backyard, BBQ and deck is perfect for your next family vacation. It features a large private fenced in yard for enjoying the outdoor California lifestyle. We invite your fur children to stay too because this home is pet-friendly!

The Grande House is 2572 sq ft with large rooms and there is a 200 sq ft detached guest studio studio with it's own TV, fireplace and bathroom with shower. This an ideal place for families that need more private sleeping spaces. There is plenty of space for family togetherness but you can also find private areas for individual quiet time.

Downstairs is the living room with a wood burning fireplace that opens up to the California style kitchen. Enjoy watching movies and TV on the large 52" flat screen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large island with a gas stove top. There are two bedrooms located downstairs. The front bedroom has a queen size bed and a bunk bed with two single beds. The back bedroom has a queen size bed that opens up to the backyard with french doors. There is also a bathroom with a shower tub combination located ensuite. There is 1 bathroom between these 2 bedrooms with 2 sinks and a tub shower combination.

Climb up the stairs to the den with a queen size sofa bed, wood-burning fireplace and library. The large master bedroom is also upstairs with a king size bed, 42" TV, sofa/daybed and a large private balcony. The master bathroom has dual sinks, a jacuzzi tub, separate glass shower, plus a huge walk-in closet! The detached Studio has a queen bed, 42" TV, wood-burning fireplace and bathroom with shower. The garage and driveway will fit three cars. The laundry area is in the garage.

We can provide an air conditioning unit for an additional fee. Please contact us to reserve the inventory.

The home is just 3-8 miles from almost everything San Diego has to offer - Old Town, Pt Loma Cabrillo Monument and Light House, SeaWorld, downtown Gaslamp District, Little Italy, Seaport Village and the famous San Diego Zoo located in the beautiful Balboa Park! They are all just a short drive away, as is the San Diego airport!

Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed)

It is important for you to read all the details about your property. We highlight everything you need to know about your vacation rental in our listing, through emails, home manuals, in-home signage and phone correspondence. We want our guests to feel prepared, informed and at ease while staying with us. We are always available if you have questions!

*NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!

Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit along with the House Rules & Rental Agreement. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed.

Attention Guests: In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days. If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. All of our homes offer similar amenities so you can expect the same experience whenever staying with us.

With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. *We provide 2 complimentary bikes for our guests. If there is any issue with the bikes we will do everything we can to fix the issue with our maintenance team, but there will be NO compensation if the issue cannot be resolved.

We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. We can provide a portable a/c for an additional fee, contingent on availability. Please contact us to reserve one in our limited inventory as soon as possible. Deliveries are scheduled 24 hours in advance.

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers with or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.

While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. We respect your privacy so our emails help provide you with all you need to know to reference as you please.

In addition, most of our properties have House Manuals detailing specific information about the property, amenities and responsibilities. Not to mention an awesome section on attractions, events, restaurants and more to help guide you during your stay in San Diego!

Holiday 2024 Policy:
6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 21-January 4). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day.
*An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!

Summer 2024 Policy:
Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2024, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.

To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.

This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

Nightly Minimum Policy:
4 night minimum required in the off season.
6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.

Arrival/Departure Policy:
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am.

Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!

Pet Policy: This property is pet-friendly. Please note: a pet fee of $200 plus tax for the first pet, and $150 plus tax for second pet. Please send breed and pet description(s) for approval on your pet's stay.

Rate Policy: Prices change on a daily basis so the rates you see today may be higher or lower when booking!

Age Policy: We do not typically rent to guests under the age of 25 or large parties. Please contact us prior to booking to see how we may accommodate your group.

It seems that photos online tend to distort the reality of hotels and rentals. This house was great, but didn't look as good as the pics display. Plus, I failed to ask about AC (never assume). There was no AC in 80+ degree weather, so fans helped but it was a bit warm when heading to bed, especially upstairs. The neighbor across the street keeps a pretty shabby home, so it didn't always feel classy. That's the downside, but there were plenty of upsides, such as spacious, nice yard, good supplied, 2-3 blocks from Ocean, and ample TVs, Wifi, etc. While I would not likely return for the price paid, it was a great family experience for us overall.

We recently had the pleasure of staying and celebrating a 2024 New Year at The Grande House plus Studio in Point Loma, and it truly exceeded all expectations for a perfect vacation retreat. This charming property is ideally located, being close to the Cabrillo national park and numerous local attractions, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both relaxation and adventure and local restaurants. One of the standout features of The Grande House is its spacious layout, comfortably accommodating a group of 10. The tastefully decorated interiors exude warmth and charm, creating a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The addition of the attached studio provides an extra level of privacy, making it an ideal option for larger groups or families. Even dough we traveled without our dog that time, there is a dog-friendly backyard with fire pit and a gas grill. The owner provided a few bicycles, which we used to ride to the shore and to the Shelter Island. The proximity to the shore is another major advantage of this vacation house. A short and scenic walk takes you to the water's edge, allowing for breathtaking views and tranquil moments by the sea. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, beach lover, or someone simply seeking a peaceful escape, The Grande House offers the perfect balance. The Grande House plus Studio in Point Loma is a gem of a vacation rental. Its combination of proximity to natural wonders, local attractions, and a pet-friendly.

This home was perfect for celebrating my dads 60th birthday. The rooms are very spacious and the home had everything we needed. The kitchen especially came in handy. The location was absolutely perfect for getting around to OB, downtown, abd mission beach. I was thankful they provided plenty of beach chairs and bikes. My only suggestion would be to look at the plumbing in the private guest house out back. Thats the room i stayed in and it had a very strong water mildew smell and the shower has trouble draining. I was able to cover the smell with air freshner and room scents. Good out weighed the bad. Very nice and comfortable stay.

We really enjoyed staying at Sunset Cliffs. Minutes from so much of what we wanted to do in SD. Great location and nice home. The back home was a little underwhelming and could use an update but still comfortable.

Communication with rental agents was fantastic. Beautiful house great location just blocks from the ocean. Very quiet neighborhood loved the landscaping and lemon and orange trees. Plenty of room for our families and don’t think we had any complaints or problems during our one week visit.
